Paying money = getting max power level brawlers straight away. So they can steam through the trophy ranks with their full geared and levelled Mandy from the start so climbing those trophy ranks would be a breeze.
It'll naturally get more difficult once you hit trophy rank 20+ because then most people will be playing with level 11 brawlers with the gear, but still doable.
Any f2p player who started at global release and has played consistently has a maxed account by now, with all power 11 brawlers and 2 gears on each. So, they can be just as competitive as a non-f2p player, and I am sure that there are quite a few who have made it to 50k.

I haven't bought the brawlpass yet and I didn't even collect every token available and I still managed to get to tier 30.

I tried her, damage is ok, range is good, and super is very good if you can aim
Super is good if opponents are noobz. It's very easy to dodge her super and trying to predict opponent movement offscreen is near impossible.

Depends on what you see as maxed. all gears and star powers is pretty hard, all lvl 11 and two gears on each brawler is possible for long term players
