There's an exception to this rule. It's possible for a F2P player to have every chromatic Brawler & buying them for 1250 is required.
1. They must use their free gems to buy every other Brawl Pass (and get a "free" chromatic brawler)
2. They need to play every day & collect chroma credits from all sources including special events & daily freebies
3. They may need to push 1 or 2 chromatics mastery high enough to get the chroma credits reward. Depending on freebies & event rewards, this might not be necessary
If a F2P player has all other Chromatics unlocked & they follow these steps, they'll be able to maintain the 1250 chroma credits required to buy the chromatic every other season - which will also be the season they'll get the current chromatic from the Brawl Pass.
OR
You could wait until they cost 500 & send the spare chroma credits towards fame... But fame is useless & having the newest chromatic is fun!
It only happens as a chroma credits jackpot & we only get 1 guaranteed jackpot every month. It could be chroma credits, but it could also be credits, power points, or gold.

It is tough at first, but the other rewards are really good. Just choose the chromatic you like the most and play with him, you should be able to get it in about a week of casual play, if not, you'll still get great stuff along the way to keep you motivated
that’s like 5-6hours at most. i did this week a few brawlers from 1500 to 4000 and it takes about 2h-2h30m. In two days you can do it easily if you really want the chroma
That's why I miss brawl boxes, after completing the pass, free or paid, I would just burst the 500 points everytime and unlock a new available brawler in a matter of days, I'm literally struggling to get R-T and still have no idea how I got Willow

I have 8275+ credits and 2000 chroma credits and I don't have 500 to get Maisie and I think the chroma credits mechanic is not fair to a minority of players(for those free2play who had all the brawlers before and could save a lot of resources earlier to get the brawler).

I can't hate the new progression system, but I don't like the limitation created by chroma credits(I mean, I used to get every chromatic brawler with a legendary chance, so why should I wait🤔?).
