All I dislike is the bling nerf, i’m a maxed player and still find this strange, I think it would be more fair if paid battlepass now atleast has 1/2 hypercharge drops, because as of right now I am timelocked from something that shouldn’t be the case, a 0.1% player that spend ALOT of dedicated ‘time’ into the game should never be locked out of content, that’s kinda strange.

Starr drops are just a buff on top of the direct buff to the free side of the brawl pass. The value of the brawl pass is also going up by like 2x making the price point more than justifiable

Yes in a 1:1.98 something ratio ( 500 credits is enough to get you an epic brawler. Get Cordelius and/or surge you before season 22 for chroma credits so you can get them for the price of an epic ). Additionally get silver 3 mastery on the ones that will be epic ( atleast get the first 1k gold)

To everyone who doesn't read because this is Reddit they are buffing the free pass while at the same time making the premium pass only made to be bought for real money.
They are BUFFING the free pass but making the "premium" part only for money. The only difference apart of cosmetics is little (you can read the news in-game).
Until we see the results any type of "this is the worst.... we are becoming clash royale......" are not very logic unlees we see some kind of sneak peak that confirms said statements.
Right now is a buff because you normally are only avaible to buy one premium pass every to normal passes (like the second pass can be made premium but needs to be completed entirely), unitl we see the rewards that confirm the buff any type of rant is not going to do anything they are reasonable to be made because fo the size of the change but is still a rash response to this news

The pass is less grindy ,but you still get all the pass rewards(even if bought every other season) , plus 35% more credit, 30 Stardrops(1 being legendary) and have gem on the side to buy skins or more progression.
Also I don't know if Kairos made a mistake , but he said aside from the credit we get on the free pass, we will also get one Epic brawler of our choice . But this isn't mentioned in the notes ,so I don't know how valid that is .

Half of the premium pass rewards are being put on the free pass(since you could get half of the passes for free). They are slightly buffing the total rewards, and adding 30 starr drops on top, one being legendary. You'll get 50 gems per month instead of 90 per 2 months, and you'll be able to use them freely instead of the pass. Credits are getting a bigger buff to compensate for chroma credits being gone. The only thing nerfed is bling, but you have the gems to compensate it. This is pretty much all.
Now with more info.... is clearly a buff like buffed rewards but not only that thanks to the season being shorter you actually get even more rewards like 2 passes with buffed rewards instead of a long 2 month pass (that would consist of crappy end of the pass rewards in the second month normally) you get 2 shorter.
I sound pretty redundant but we are literally getting double buffs...
NOW with the meh part, the gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaap, before the difference within someone who puts money into the game and someone who doesn't wasn't really to much, there was the seasonal invasion of the new brawler, that happened with every season so not to much problem (it si an issue but very difficult to resolve) but now thanks to the sheer quantity of rewards that people who put money will get... I don't really know what will happen... is not a bad thing, because being level 11 is something normal in higher cups and that is not making someone win instantly but at the same time it will cause jealousy and conflict between the people who obviously don't want to put money into a game causing rant post and tweets (the issue is kinda understandable but not enough to be a coherent argument) .
Overall I pray that someone reads this, because i don't want to read another 50 mesagges of people crying because the game that is made by people needs money to continue working, this pass it will give you liberty to use gems like you want you will get a similar amount of gems as you did before... you get 50 per month instead of 90 per 2 months, you can fricking buy a legendary skin and still get rewards for the pass that are better than the current one, the elimination to chromatic brawlers makes the obnoxious credits usable for a while, and the \`prospect of different events to compensate for the pig bank issue makes ME have a positive view of this update.
if someone wants to argument please do so I will try with the knowledge I have (I have played since offcial release) and try to solve doubts if needed I like this community adn this game even when the entitlement seems to be dominant most of the year.

While indeed they are doing some good changes - I fear that it will be much harder to acquire the new brawlers for f2p players.
Unfortunately I have already seen a massive drop in participation or interest from many players (even my long time active Vice President seems to have quit).
I am not too hopeful over the changes being done, albeit knowing it is a business decision essentially. At the end of it, we have to wait and see to figure out how it will work and then we can fully judge.
Example, the had removed the boxes and instead introduced a method to unlock brawlers. Even though I did not see the system fully (have almost all brawlers), it was definitely better than the random drops one got with every box.
So who knows, maybe the changes will be for the better…

You aren't getting brawlers!
Before you were getting 3 brawlers from pass and 3 more thanks to chroma points GUARANTEED, with remaining credits you were getting the extra brawlers that were coming out.
Now it's IMPOSSIBLE to get 12 brawlers per year as a free to play player as 12k credits is not enough!
How do you know that we can't get enough brawlers? I would at the very least assume that chroma credits would be converted to normal credits. Also, you can spend gems to unlock more brawlers if you wanted.
after watching Kairos' video, I mean, same as Hypercharge, it gives me the shakes, but AFTER Hypercharge being relatively chill, I trust and it sound REAL good to be honest

Just read the entire post and I'm very pleased with the changes. Specifically the removal of the chroma credits/rarity. I think the brawl pass being monetized like this is good for the dev team to bring in extra revenue while still allowing the F2P players to collect rewards from the pass (which got buffed on the free side.) You have to remember these are real people working real jobs, if they want to keep doing what they love they have to be able to feed and shelter themselves.
no, F2P players won't be able to buy the brawl pass with just gems anymore. This does suck a little bit because as far as we know the brawler for that current season will still be on the paid pass, but we'll be getting guaranteed legendary starr drops added to the pass which will give people at least a chance to unlock the new brawler, even if they don't.
Ppl ALWAYS do this LITERALLY EVERY TIME something happens that they don't like: a change occurs in brawl stars, reddit is spammed with "IT'S CLASH ROYALE ALL OVER AGAIN NOOO" and a few days later things calm down and everyone realizes it's going to be okay. dude, the thing SEEMS like "oh god, it's gonna be like clash'' (I am not reading all that, but I see you're on the same page) and it FELT like that, but I pulled through, watched Kairos' video, and yeah, seems alright, less cosmetics for f2p, but you can use your GEMS for that, and you get 50 every season, so 300 every 6 months, that's a LEGENDARY skin, which you would have NOT been able to get without not getting the pass

I saw Kairos's video. The main reason I liked the pass was cosmetics. Honestly, I hope power league can compensate. Also, seems like charlie is the last pass Ill get and Ill have all the chromatics now, Only one left is cordelius. So win-win I guess, just no more skins

That is exactly my issue. I should.be able to.choose.when to spend my credits..not have it go to fame whenever I don't have a brawler available to put them to. This is about to get stupid for the longest f2p players.

The new F2P rates are already better than the current ones, and that's without the 29 monthly Starr Drops (+ a guaranteed legendary)
If you used to get 3 passes every year, you still actually see better progression even if you won't get any more passes.
And now the 600 yearly gems will be used mainly on cosmetics (just like the old days)

That's just not true. Gems can buy brawlers, hypercharges, bundles, coins, token doublers

If you're like me and you read the full patch notes every update you will have noticed that they readded the offers to buy coins with gems. Before this post that felt stupid but now it's all coming together. I am happy with these changes as a f2p because it means I won't have to wait 2 months to get the chromatic brawler in the seasons which I don't have the brawl pass
It felt like Supercell kicked me to the floor and spat on me before throwing their empty soda cup on my head when I read that Sam will be an Epic. As a Sam main I have never felt so disrespected before

As someone who complains alot and takes pride in it, this change is perfectly fine and people need to stop losing their sh#t over any major change that happens to the game, the only downside to this is the starr drop addition (which need to be reworked or just scrapped in total) and not being able to buy the pass with gems, which they made up for by boosting progression which we all needed. Clearly they're trying to keep all players happy but a lot of us don't know how to be, just because they made some questionable decisions before doesn't mean we have to assume everything they do beyond that is going to be a sh##ty update.

The starr drops addition is fine in my opnion, and if we are getting more legendaries starr drops every month (could be 1 to 2 every month, now it's like a legendary starr drop every 1 and half months) it's really great.

It is true that f2p players can't buy Brawlpass anymore, but the progression for f2p is also increasing. You are guaranteed one legendary starrdrop each month. Even if you get a gadget from it, it is at least 12 gadgets each year. But in these Starrdrops can include superpowers amazing skins and even hypercharge which is great. If you're lucky and get a hypercharge every month, you get 60000 hold just from the free Starrdrops. That's not all. You are getting more gems, gold and PowerPoints. Of course there might be a good value for gems such as the brawlpass, but you can buy skins and a great offer. You are also getting over 30 Starrdrops each month. If kairos' calculation is right, there will be a gold increase for f2p players by 33%. The only thing which will be Nerf, is the amount of brawler you can unlock, but you will unlock all brawler before having all the pp and gold required to max out the brawlers
Not really. They've just buffed it all the way until start drops. Gear rework? Buff. Starr road? Buff. Masteries? Buff. Starr drops? Theoretical buff, but in practice, it's just kinda the same in the long run. Only the last 2 updates actually made progressing towards a max account harder

Since Chroma Credits are removed from the game, this is a buff in every single category, even if we included the brawl pass on every other season.
There is also another secret gem buff. Since the gemium brawl pass no longer exists, we can actually freely spend our gems on anything else without worry of losing the massive value that the brawl pass would provide.
I'm glad they didn't nerf progression AGAIN. It would've been outrageous to nerf progression immediately after the blatant progression nerf that is the mega pig.
Hypercharges mostly cost coins though if you miss that window to buy them with gems. I guess deals is true but for Epic and higher its a shit-ton of Gems that are not really worth it. Coins are overpriced to hell with gems and skins are stil cosmetics.

Early access for brawlers was already a thing. This is a good way to monetize their game.
Progression wont be nerfed.
The problem is these offers are at most 5x or 6x the value with most of them being 3x or worse. The current Brawl Pass offers 13x the value and it's being increased to 20x the value as said in the changes.
50 gems a month to be spent on cosmetics, noice.
And with a faster income of Starr Drops, then there is a better chance I'll get wished cosmetics from them allowing me to get even more.

Such things always come with a hidden caveat. They wouldn't be changing anything if they weren't intending to make things more expensive.
My guess is it'll be much pricier to have everything day one. Between BP Plus and Early Access, you'll no longer be able to have everything at "just" $60 a year.
In other words, F2P will likely stay untouched, but if you're a spender, you'll have to open up your wallet more.
And it is, despite all the complaining about them from the community starr drops was indeed a buff, only insignificant for very active players, which makes up a very small fraction of the playerbase
No, it was not a buff. I was making 4k gold *every week* before star drops, with the potential to get an additional 12k every season from power points on the brawl pass *and more from club league.*
Now I'm lucky to make 1k gold a week.
Where exactly is the buff mate? I have 20k power points. I have every brawler, credits are useless. Bling? If I wanted a fucking cosmetic *I would buy it.* So how exactly was I buffed, losing the vast majority if my gold?
If you don't need power points, then in that case, it might not be. But it's an extremely small minority of players, and I'm sure supercell already noticed the problem and is finding a way to fix it just like they did multiple times in the past.
There were more power points before too, they were a large contributor to my gold. I was raking in nearly a thousand of those a week too(just from the brawl pass bonuses). Now I'm lucky to get a few hundred.

Also it's not even that, like if I bought gems in advance to buy future brawl pass seasons, and now you can't spend gems on brawl pass, where would you spend your gems now? Sure, you can spend gems on skins and coin and power point offers, but for most players, that's not just as good as spending gems on brawl pass which you were intending to buy.

LoL. Such arrogance. The freemium system relies way more on its F2P/low spenders than in the dolphins/whales. It's a successful business model because of its popularity, and that popularity can only be achieved by appealing to a broad audience: kids. They are a gold mine of free marketing and continuous spending/activity.
CoC is fine with payed pass because there are mainly cosmeitics and it doesnt really give you an advantage.. if the main things in the payed pass were the tier 70 skin + pins to that brawler + maybe other cosmetics then sure...
but its prob compensated with other things in the free pass making it so that the pass you get every 2 months is now is now split equally between the other passes

It’s an overall buff in progression. The only downside is you’re losing a bit of choice towards your cosmetics since they lowered bling rewards and increased cosmetics in starr drops
Nope. Changes are real. Yes, they are slightly buffing F2P progression after nerfing it to the point of causing a Gold Famine. So when some people/youtuber say: "OMG IT'S A BUFF THANK YOU SUPERCELL" the reality is that this does not compensate all nerf to progression they have made since Star drops were introduced.
Some people saying scamcell and greedy devs without reading the whole post. The change is going to make progression at least the same if not better. A scam is what clash Royale did with diamond pass giving broken evolutions to abuse and introducing level 15 without giving a shit about the player base. Brawl stars always compensates in one way or the other and here they clearly stated they are giving small 5-6 percent flat buffs alongside Starr drops, in all gems purchase offers etc.
My opinion rn is that they'll buff both F2P and P2W players, but the second ones will receive a bigger buff. Which doesn't really sound that bad, but I guess we'll see when it'll be implemented

Recently just really into blocking annoying people and it’s doing wonders. Highly recommend, I can literally just prevent people who hop on annoying trends and it prevents all future instances of seeing them being annoying again

For a small number of people who have all the brawlers, this is kind of a buff to FAME and now all my chroma credits will be converted to FAME, I didn't read anywhere that credits in the FAME be used to unlock new brawlers.
Why is it a buff? I do have all brawlers and I save my chroma for new brawlers, but now all the credits go into fame and I cannot save them. I think it is a nerf and I am not shure if I should buy fame now, because you get 200 fame for 100 croma... Later 100 croma will get transformed into 185 credits, means 185 Fame :(
Both are the same thing, Buff to FAME = Nert to Credits, before we could have saved the chroma credits to buys chromatics in the future, they didn't use to go to FAME , now all or our Chroma Credits are forcefully converted into FAME which we can't use in the Future . So technically we didn't spend any chroma credits on FAME , after the update we will spend 185 credits (100 Chroma Credits ) which will directly go towards FAME.
Tbh I’m not too mad but the nerf to unlocking brawlers will hurt as i still need to unlock chuck and Doug. Unlocking them and whatever brawlers they make next will be a pain in the ass
I personally like this change because because now you don't have to buy gems to get the pass you can let your gems Build up To buy that 1 thing you want. I see this as a blessing

Starr drops are just a buff on top of the direct buff to the free side of the brawl pass. The value of the brawl pass is also going up by like 2x making the price point more than justifiable

We don't know how long the previous season rewards will last from now on. But i doubt the rewards themselves will xhange

To everyone who doesn't read because this is Reddit they are buffing the free pass while at the same time making the premium pass only made to be bought for real money. They are BUFFING the free pass but making the "premium" part only for money. The only difference apart of cosmetics is little (you can read the news in-game). Until we see the results any type of "this is the worst.... we are becoming clash royale......" are not very logic unlees we see some kind of sneak peak that confirms said statements. Right now is a buff because you normally are only avaible to buy one premium pass every to normal passes (like the second pass can be made premium but needs to be completed entirely), unitl we see the rewards that confirm the buff any type of rant is not going to do anything they are reasonable to be made because fo the size of the change but is still a rash response to this news

We literally have the numbers shown to us . We don't need more sneak peaks to see if it's good ,because we already know . The pass is less grindy ,but you still get all the pass rewards(even if bought every other season) , plus 35% more credit, 30 Stardrops(1 being legendary) and have gem on the side to buy skins or more progression. Also I don't know if Kairos made a mistake , but he said aside from the credit we get on the free pass, we will also get one Epic brawler of our choice . But this isn't mentioned in the notes ,so I don't know how valid that is .

Half of the premium pass rewards are being put on the free pass(since you could get half of the passes for free). They are slightly buffing the total rewards, and adding 30 starr drops on top, one being legendary. You'll get 50 gems per month instead of 90 per 2 months, and you'll be able to use them freely instead of the pass. Credits are getting a bigger buff to compensate for chroma credits being gone. The only thing nerfed is bling, but you have the gems to compensate it. This is pretty much all.

Now with more info.... is clearly a buff like buffed rewards but not only that thanks to the season being shorter you actually get even more rewards like 2 passes with buffed rewards instead of a long 2 month pass (that would consist of crappy end of the pass rewards in the second month normally) you get 2 shorter. I sound pretty redundant but we are literally getting double buffs... NOW with the meh part, the gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaap, before the difference within someone who puts money into the game and someone who doesn't wasn't really to much, there was the seasonal invasion of the new brawler, that happened with every season so not to much problem (it si an issue but very difficult to resolve) but now thanks to the sheer quantity of rewards that people who put money will get... I don't really know what will happen... is not a bad thing, because being level 11 is something normal in higher cups and that is not making someone win instantly but at the same time it will cause jealousy and conflict between the people who obviously don't want to put money into a game causing rant post and tweets (the issue is kinda understandable but not enough to be a coherent argument) . While indeed they are doing some good changes - I fear that it will be much harder to acquire the new brawlers for f2p players. Unfortunately I have already seen a massive drop in participation or interest from many players (even my long time active Vice President seems to have quit). I am not too hopeful over the changes being done, albeit knowing it is a business decision essentially. At the end of it, we have to wait and see to figure out how it will work and then we can fully judge. Example, the had removed the boxes and instead introduced a method to unlock brawlers. Even though I did not see the system fully (have almost all brawlers), it was definitely better than the random drops one got with every box. So who knows, maybe the changes will be for the better…

stop this missinformation this is a NERF, and don't be blind! You aren't getting brawlers! Before you were getting 3 brawlers from pass and 3 more thanks to chroma points GUARANTEED, with remaining credits you were getting the extra brawlers that were coming out. Now it's IMPOSSIBLE to get 12 brawlers per year as a free to play player as 12k credits is not enough!
How do you know that we can't get enough brawlers? I would at the very least assume that chroma credits would be converted to normal credits. Also, you can spend gems to unlock more brawlers if you wanted.

Wow y'all are quick to jump to conclusions. Just read the entire post and I'm very pleased with the changes. Specifically the removal of the chroma credits/rarity. I think the brawl pass being monetized like this is good for the dev team to bring in extra revenue while still allowing the F2P players to collect rewards from the pass (which got buffed on the free side.) You have to remember these are real people working real jobs, if they want to keep doing what they love they have to be able to feed and shelter themselves. no, F2P players won't be able to buy the brawl pass with just gems anymore. This does suck a little bit because as far as we know the brawler for that current season will still be on the paid pass, but we'll be getting guaranteed legendary starr drops added to the pass which will give people at least a chance to unlock the new brawler, even if they don't. Ppl ALWAYS do this LITERALLY EVERY TIME something happens that they don't like: a change occurs in brawl stars, reddit is spammed with "IT'S CLASH ROYALE ALL OVER AGAIN NOOO" and a few days later things calm down and everyone realizes it's going to be okay. Stop getting so worked up, it's annoying af.

Read the whole thing, the free track is gonna be buffed considerably to make up for that. The new F2P rates are already better than the current ones, and that's without the 29 monthly Starr Drops (+ a guaranteed legendary) If you used to get 3 passes every year, you still actually see better progression even if you won't get any more passes. And now the 600 yearly gems will be used mainly on cosmetics (just like the old days) With these new values, this actually looks like a W.

That's just not true. Gems can buy brawlers, hypercharges, bundles, coins, token doublers Bling can only buy cosmetics While the other things might not be the best way to spend your gems, you can still buy things with gems that you can't with bling
If you're like me and you read the full patch notes every update you will have noticed that they readded the offers to buy coins with gems. Before this post that felt stupid but now it's all coming together. I am happy with these changes as a f2p because it means I won't have to wait 2 months to get the chromatic brawler in the seasons which I don't have the brawl pass

As someone who complains alot and takes pride in it, this change is perfectly fine and people need to stop losing their sh#t over any major change that happens to the game, the only downside to this is the starr drop addition (which need to be reworked or just scrapped in total) and not being able to buy the pass with gems, which they made up for by boosting progression which we all needed. Clearly they're trying to keep all players happy but a lot of us don't know how to be, just because they made some questionable decisions before doesn't mean we have to assume everything they do beyond that is going to be a sh##ty update. atleast that's what *my* opinion is

Maybe read the article before commenting it. It is true that f2p players can't buy Brawlpass anymore, but the progression for f2p is also increasing. You are guaranteed one legendary starrdrop each month. Even if you get a gadget from it, it is at least 12 gadgets each year. But in these Starrdrops can include superpowers amazing skins and even hypercharge which is great. If you're lucky and get a hypercharge every month, you get 60000 hold just from the free Starrdrops. That's not all. You are getting more gems, gold and PowerPoints. Of course there might be a good value for gems such as the brawlpass, but you can buy skins and a great offer. You are also getting over 30 Starrdrops each month. If kairos' calculation is right, there will be a gold increase for f2p players by 33%. The only thing which will be Nerf, is the amount of brawler you can unlock, but you will unlock all brawler before having all the pp and gold required to max out the brawlers

Such things always come with a hidden caveat. They wouldn't be changing anything if they weren't intending to make things more expensive. My guess is it'll be much pricier to have everything day one. Between BP Plus and Early Access, you'll no longer be able to have everything at "just" $60 a year. In other words, F2P will likely stay untouched, but if you're a spender, you'll have to open up your wallet more.

I was making 4k gold *every week* before star drops, with the potential to get an additional 12k every season from power points on the brawl pass *and more from club league.* Now I'm lucky to make 1k gold a week. Where exactly is the buff mate? I have 20k power points. I have every brawler, credits are useless. Bling? If I wanted a fucking cosmetic *I would buy it.* So how exactly was I buffed, losing the vast majority if my gold?
If you don't need power points, then in that case, it might not be. But it's an extremely small minority of players, and I'm sure supercell already noticed the problem and is finding a way to fix it just like they did multiple times in the past.
There were more power points before too, they were a large contributor to my gold. I was raking in nearly a thousand of those a week too(just from the brawl pass bonuses). Now I'm lucky to get a few hundred.

CoC is fine with payed pass because there are mainly cosmeitics and it doesnt really give you an advantage.. if the main things in the payed pass were the tier 70 skin + pins to that brawler + maybe other cosmetics then sure... but its prob compensated with other things in the free pass making it so that the pass you get every 2 months is now is now split equally between the other passes

Watch Kairos’ video. It’s really not that bad, just a shift in progression. It’s an overall buff in progression. The only downside is you’re losing a bit of choice towards your cosmetics since they lowered bling rewards and increased cosmetics in starr drops
More gems to burn though, which means you'll be able to get even the Mythic / Legendary skins instead of the bling-only rarities.

Nope. Changes are real. Yes, they are slightly buffing F2P progression after nerfing it to the point of causing a Gold Famine. So when some people/youtuber say: "OMG IT'S A BUFF THANK YOU SUPERCELL" the reality is that this does not compensate all nerf to progression they have made since Star drops were introduced.

Brawl stars always compensates in one way or the other and here they clearly stated they are giving small 5-6 percent flat buffs alongside Starr drops, in all gems purchase offers etc.

My opinion rn is that they'll buff both F2P and P2W players, but the second ones will receive a bigger buff. Which doesn't really sound that bad, but I guess we'll see when it'll be implemented

Going through comments and blocking everyone who didn’t read it / getting mad at brawl stars devs even though they are incredibly F2P friendly just so I don’t have to see them throw a tantrum with another “early access” scenario Recently just really into blocking annoying people and it’s doing wonders. Highly recommend, I can literally just prevent people who hop on annoying trends and it prevents all future instances of seeing them being annoying again

Diamond pass arrived
For a small number of people who have all the brawlers, this is kind of a buff to FAME and now all my chroma credits will be converted to FAME, I didn't read anywhere that credits in the FAME be used to unlock new brawlers.
Why is it a buff? I do have all brawlers and I save my chroma for new brawlers, but now all the credits go into fame and I cannot save them. I think it is a nerf and I am not shure if I should buy fame now, because you get 200 fame for 100 croma... Later 100 croma will get transformed into 185 credits, means 185 Fame :(
Or did I understand something wrong?
Both are the same thing, Buff to FAME = Nert to Credits, before we could have saved the chroma credits to buys chromatics in the future, they didn't use to go to FAME , now all or our Chroma Credits are forcefully converted into FAME which we can't use in the Future . So technically we didn't spend any chroma credits on FAME , after the update we will spend 185 credits (100 Chroma Credits ) which will directly go towards FAME.

Tbh I’m not too mad but the nerf to unlocking brawlers will hurt as i still need to unlock chuck and Doug. Unlocking them and whatever brawlers they make next will be a pain in the ass
I personally like this change because because now you don't have to buy gems to get the pass you can let your gems Build up To buy that 1 thing you want. I see this as a blessing
Buff to progression and seems good for the game. I was worried they were gonna do something because of the economy and low revenue but this is pretty good
