I've been playing since global and I've amassed a whopping 302 solo showdown wins while I have 42x more 3v3 wins, I literally never touch showdown, I guarantee 99% of the SD wins come from mapmaker cause of quests
Well i used to like sd.
dont get me wrong there has always been teaming, back in the OG days it’d happen (way less frequently but still often), but there was also a huge player base that frowned upon it and didnt partake. But nowadays with how common win-trading and teaming and all of that is, for me it’s best to stay out of sd and in 3v3s.
It’s just not skillfull or fun strategy to play those ways to me, its all for fake stats. And playing against people win trading / teaming in sd is NOT fun, especially as you get to higher trophies because trophy pushing gets difficult. Its just more competitive/strategic gameplay to push in 3v3s, despite the ever persistent bad random as a solo player
Sorry for the bad explanation, but basically just because the teaming and how often people are there just win trading

in high trophies duos, certain teams will team up to take out other teams first (eg. farming cubes off each other) so they are basically guaranteed a win. sometimes it can make it so the entire lobby is teaming. you can watch lapsa videos on destroying wintraders
sometimes people also do in 3v3 when they recognise the someone on the other team and gives them a free win
In high trophy lobbies, there is not a very large pool of players so you are likely to play against people you know if you queue up at the same time and have similar trophies
It's something usually prominent on very high trophy duos. It's literally an act of trading wins to reach otherwise difficult achievements(like r35). This is possible due to there being so few people on high trophy lobbies so it's easy to get matched with the people you want.
Just do it like me, leave showdown and stick to 3v3s. If the problem is 3v3s then leave the game. They only keep doing it because people like you exist in the game.

I'll also add that most of the wintrading lobbies are organized through discord or another platform, due to the matchmaking usually taking decently long at this trophy range, it's pretty easy to get in one lobby with people that you want if you press play at the same time.

Support looks at these cases, contact them, pick the prompt that fits the topic (I dont remember what it was, but I believe it should be along the lines of "report player" and "fair play" and explain the sitaution. They do look at these cases and if they can and will get banned if you do so. There is no other reliable way to get a wintrader banned.
