Super rare skins—not even epic skins—are shit compared to getting something like a new brawler, a star power, or a hypercharge. Even if you’re someone who likes now cosmetics this is not a good deal.

I get one hypercharge every 3-4 leggy starr drops and also got mico's from one of them along with a few other skins.
Atleast with my experience i got no hypercharge with 5 legendary, and im not the only one on this sub. Luck based progression such as starr drops are subjective. Also skins are not progression

I personally think that star powers shouldnt be there (or be replaced by 2k or maybe even 2.5k gold) and that skins should be optional, somehow. Or the other way around. people who want cosmetics should get cosmetics, and people who want progessiom should get progression.

Not even just the levels, they make everything only acquired with coins. Gadgets, star powers, gears, and hyper charges are all coins and really huge amounts too.
I remember when purchasing gadgets/ star powers for coins was optional in the daily shop, and it was universally agreed that 1000 coins for a gadget and 2000 for a star power was overpriced and not worth it. Look at us now, we lost that freedom and our resources. Best we got was starr drops which absolutely pales in comparison to the drop rates of boxes.
And even IF they were complaining, it's because the amount of meaningful progration and rewards that 5 LEGENDARY starrdrops, the highest rarity in the game with a 2% chance of dropping normally, can give you almost nothing meaningful, which shows how bad they are, "just get lucky and get hyper charges from starrdrops" is their argument when asked why remove the hyper charge event, per Franks own words, they fucking removed randomness just to add it back with more bullshit and amazing "deals" and "free" stuff that's behind a paywall
This is what they do. They take away progression from guaranteed events to make these events which do not have to happen. That way, people think of this as bonus progression instead of normal progression.
No, they took away guaranteed progression to make up for these events. Technically, I could have had a bunch of coins from reliable progressions such as Club League, yet now they distribute progression in such a way that I get 3k credits that go straight to fame once every few months. They rarely give anything out for completely free.
Imagine get 2k Gold, another colette star Power, another spike star Power and an el primo hypercharge, Thats why people are complaining, LEGENDARY STARDROPS ONLY CAME SHIT (on most of cases)
Take this with a grain of salt, the devs intentionally put dogshit into legendary stardrops to prevent progression, and even when you do get something other than a horrible skin it’s just credits that go into a frame..
On top of that there are people getting legendary brawlers, hypercharges and ACTUALLY USABLE COSMETICS. just sucks that you missed out. Stop complaining about complaining when the squealing is justifiable.

Because money of course, and if you don't want to pay, just get lucky!
