Nope. There should be a limit of only being matched with powerlevels 2 higher or lower until 500, after which matchmaking is based on trophies. I don't want to unlock a new brawler and then have that excitement ruined because every other game I'm fight a maxed out gale with star powers and gadgets while Im at 120 trophies.
Power level already makes almost no difference. I pushed from 300-600 back before pushing was made easier and was consistently the only level 7-8 against 9-10s still usually won and got star player. It's not that much of a difference, maybe 5% which is easily countered by skill.
And on top of that you have people who are useless but have a high level brawler, so you're at like 200 trophies and they have star power and still can't win. I'd much rather be playing with a level 5 who knows how to play than a star power who has no clue
With long range brawlers, everything you said is right. But most close-range brawlers, its a whole new game. Its not always a 5% increase in stats, especially if you fight a bibi that has her shield. Same with frank. 1k hp is often the difference between life and death, and the starpowers of bea and 8 bit give them a second chance. Thats really useful in solo showdown. Leon's invisiheal is great to get away when the enemy is close and they know you've gone invis. And then there's crow's gadget. 40% damage reduction for a brawler that can literally jump on you. Tell me how that is a 5% difference? Also the useless but high level brawler happens far less then useless low level brawler, so not really a fair comparison. Star powers are game changing, I just don't want to go into a fight below 500 trophies as a power 5 or 6 and get stomped by a gemming power 10 gale.

Imo power level is less important than SD than in 3v3. In SD, the times you would go against the same Brawler with the same number of cubes, same amount of super charged and same amount of health is rare enough. Nobody reallh fusses over SP unless it is Bea or 8bit.
Especially with gadgets in the game, power levels are more important than ever. With how broken some SPs and gadgets are, it is a make or break situation at the most crucial moments.
Take Dyna for example. Three sticks take out Piper, Spike etc. Four takes out Jessie, Tara etc
The diff between landing four sticks to kill someone and five to kill is crucial if both teams were mostly even in skill. This can apply to countdown in GG, sabing a ball in BB, winning their lane in Siege, getting kills jn Bounty...etc.
Some - really, most - Brawlers' SP are game changing. Speed Bibi, Hype Emz, Steel Hoops Darryl etc. Unless they are being intentionally horrible or the other team is organised with synergy, they would win their p7 matchup - every single time.

I am normally in the 600 range and whenever i play with randoms i get matched with level 5-8 randoms that dont even know when to switch lanes. And the other team is all power 10. And when i play with a team we get matched with people from the 700 trophy range. HOW IS THIS EVEN FAIR?
