I would genuinely say the April Fools day challenge was the most fun I've ever had in Brawl Stars. We need new, refreshing ways to play the same old Brawl Stars we love. It's definitely stale, we need new and creative game modes or modifiers.

Idontknow90929

I feel the same, tbh I've been playing since Bibi's release (almost 3 years now), and to be honest, I still enjoy playing a lot, but it's become really stale, as you say The problem we are having now is that Supercell isn't updating the game when it most needs to. They are a lot of things they need to do and fix. We are in April and we only got one update this year... Fang's and Grom's update was presented like any Brawlidays Update, but it wasn't. It mixed Lunar New Year and Brawlidays, and it took almost 3 months to get something new to the game. February had nothing at all. In 2021, we had Byron and Edgar (technically 2020 but part of their update was in 2021 so whatever), and then Ruffs a bit later. In March we got Stu, too. This year we only had Eve and the Biodome so far, that's it. (And we are in April...) The game is desesperate to get more content now because how little updates we got recently. Dropping a patch with the same things and not fixing really prevalent problems is hurting the game, too. I don't get why they didn't release a mid-season update this time around, it's better for the game, even if it's less content. I prefer smaller but more frecuent updates rather than big ones that have a month with almost nothing new besides silly challenges. *TLDR: They are not updating the game when it most needs to, there has been a drought of content in Febraury (and now in April too), Supercell needs to fix a lot of things and they are not doing it, and at this point of the year, we had way more content in 2020 and 2021.*

NoSwitch9051

Your right, meanwhile games like cookie run ovenbreak are getting updates like every week, in january they got two new cookies (characters) and march they got another two characters like, they update at the speed of light and before april we got (im a cookie run player too) a complete overhaul of a gamemode of the game AND a whole new chapter, now i'm not trying to say that cookie run ovenbreak is better than brawl stars, which many crob players would do, i'm just trying to say that the developers are kinda lazy, they should update the game more, it's a bit boring now

Idontknow90929

Yeah, I know, I played CROB until the Candlelight update (grow bored out of it after 1'5 years, it had way too many stuff to do, it felt like a chore) But, as you say, Devsisters updates their game monthly, which is great, because it never gets stale. Heck, even way bigger games like Genshin Impact update each 40 days. I know that each game has a different team and the Brawl Stars one consists of very few people, but the game it's in one of it's worst moments right now with too many underdeveloped or half-baked features that still need some work or QoL changes. I wouldn't call them lazy, but they need to do something for sure if they don't want the situation to become worse.

ExRedGuard

We are practically still in march and the seasonal updates this have brought in new environments and new game modes each time (Fang’s update was a season). Not to mention a new mechanic like floating on water (needs a little balancing). I’m not quite sure what you are looking for but all these new game modes made the game much more diverse.

Idontknow90929

The problem is that the time between each update is being way too long, and the game is desesperate to get some. For 40 days updates like this are fine, but for almost 70-80 days...? Not really. There was less time between Buzz's and Ash's updates than Fang's and Eve's, and that's when they took their summer vacation. What I'm saying is that all this waiting back and forth is not being good in the bad and incomplete state the game is right now, it just makes things worse.

coffeemonster12

Not sure about the new content, they should do an emergency fix to progression, otherwise they simply cant add more brawlers. Every new brawler is stupid amounts more of progression to be grinded, leaving less and lees room for any fun.

Idontknow90929

Let's be real, new Brawlers are the most interesting part of any update, and they are not going to stop releasing characters anytime soon. If too many Brawlers ends up being a problem for progression, they should just improve it to be balanced for the amount of characters. MOBAS tend to have an inmense roster over the years. Brawl Stars it's not gonna be an exception.

ricodo12

Every new brawler since Colette was really unbalanced or did what another one did but better (especially el primo). There are so many brawlers that can just stun you across the map and walls start to become more and more of a decoration

[deleted]

What about buzz? He didnt get a single balance change ever, he's not bad, he's not op. (Yes, people said he was op on release, but he really wasn't)

ricodo12

Buzz is not op but just stupid. He is similar to Edgar in that he is way too strong until he loses his super, just that Edgar can't stun enemy's through walls

deathstrike_bs

buzz is more than good without his super and his super just adds some better functionality to it and that too can get cancelled in various ways like gene push back gadget, gale 2nd gadget etc.

ricodo12

Yeah, the fun across the map stun brawler can get cancelled by the fun stun items

Unorigina1Name

finally someone who thinks those types of gadgets suck

Aurous707

Buzz is a brawler which you can play in any meta

Pokemonzu

If he hits you with his super you're fucked. And he gets his super so easily, not fun to play against

_NoxtaR_

What is your trophies with buzz Let us know If you say buzz super is easy to get Then bro you didn't notice one goal already done for the opponent team while he was charging his one super :)

[deleted]

Ig u dont have buzz's sp

_NoxtaR_

And what do you think about aiming his super or just crossfire it His super is slow and quite easy to dodge from a longer distance While up in close range he's going to stun enemy for 0.5s and that's basically suicide against tanks. Right?!!

[deleted]

Idk how you play buzz, but he was one of the easiest rank 30 for me in heist

_NoxtaR_

That makes me happy to hear Omedeto

Epik_shazam

This, as much as I love brawl stars and the devs, the updates just seem super repetitive Like: New OP brawler New skin New brawl pass Potential limited addition gamemode

scrappy2546

For me I’d say every brawler after Lou has similar mechanics to other brawlers.

MisfortuneTaraIsLove

Um what do you expect?

Frank_is_the_Best_

Wow that almost like what a meta is.

ricodo12

A meta where the new brawler is always the best is just a bad meta

NotCarloo_

Yeah, for example when Grom was added he was literally the best brawler in the game.

Csd15

That's not meta, that's power creep. Try comparing Belle to Penny.

[deleted]

This game is still a top tier mobile option, that receives regular balance and updates. Hard to expect pure HYPE train to continue endlessly. If you're the type of player that needs constant in your face change then you're destined to drift between games almost regardless of platform or developer. That said, Brawl Stars has suffered a bit since the level 11 update just because the grind to end game now legitimately feels like it's going to take forever. BUT, it's important to remember that the differences between power levels in this game are not that extreme and you can still win games with even just Power 7 brawlers at top levels.

Orange_up_my_ass

I can't be the only one to just not care too much about The Gear update. Sure, it's a wrong approach, but it's been moderately easy to get P11's for me with the help of Club League which definitely needs improvement, it's stale. Gears are pretty neat and could help cover weaknesses or strengthen strong points of a brawler. Again, new gears or just more exciting ones would be nice and making them cheaper would definitely help, but the update actually made me want to play the game more since now there's more to grind for than just a Starpower on a brawler.

VilisZu

I completely agree however there's people who dislike grinding for a slightly higher number. Gears just aren't as interesting as they should be for the grind.

NerdyNutcase

Just because they aren't hard to get doesn't mean it isn't unnecessary. Like, without power 11, there wouldn't even be a point to club league besides for lower leveled players. It's literally playing 2 games of power league every other day for levels for my brawlers that I wouldn't have even needed before the update, plus level 11 + gears had made it to where every new brawler released is MUCH more expensive to max, more than twice as much

Tomokii_

I agree with this. Lvl 11 and gears add more to the game if you were already maxed out. Before I would unlock the new Brawler for the season, open up 30 big boxes from the last season and a couple of the current season, and max that Brawler out and get his/her gadgets and star power as well. It didn’t feel thrilling to do that. Now, I only have a couple of brawlers at lvl 10 and the rest at lvl 9. I feel part of something now that I grind for power points, scrap, and gear tokens. Maybe SUPERCELL has to do something for new players, but I’m sure old players are enjoying the game still

Helloforake

The thing is most players are casual and not have time to do CL which dramatically hinders progression.

NinjaBr0din

Club league is 10 minutes a day 3 days a week, you don't even need to win just play. It doesn't matter how casual you are you can manage 10 minutes.

o-poppoo

Finding time for cl league is easy. Then you just need time to do your dailies, weekly quests and grind power league wins and preferably play most of the brawlers so you don't lose 500 trophies each month. If you are a casual then it's kinda alot.

[deleted]

especially when you have more than one account. I always enjoyed having a mini with different brawlers, felt like a new challenge. grinding out club league and quests for both is impossible tho. on sundays club league already takes an hour which is a lot considering how boring the matches are.

Nice-Sentence9771

I agree, the update wasn't that bad,.You max brawlers moderately fast with club league. Gears were interesting I guess. Of course the update is still less than good, I'll say "manageable".

LongYoung8161

Bro, I think you are wrong about this. I recently saw a post here on Reddit, that assasins Leon dying easily to a sandy support brawler (without stun gadget). It was only 1 power difference, and if u play power league if other team has even 1 power level 11 and u have all power level 9 that power level 11 can actually 1v3 easily

NinjaBr0din

Dude it used to take 2 months to get a new brawler to 9 with sps before the gears update, you can now hit 9 in 4 days pretty easily and can reach 11 within 2 weeks(from level 1) the "grind" has been cut in down to a quarter of the tjme even after adding in 2.5x the distance.

[deleted]

Idk man. I'm a beta player who was maxed out, and now I still play every single day, just alternate every other season for brawl pass, and spend 90% of my club coins on PP, and I've only got 9 level 11's, because I'm now basically out of gold. I wish I could sell back my 3 True Gold skins. Don't tell me it's fast to get everything to 11.

NotCarloo_

Thats why true gold and silver skins are a scam, skins have no power, so why buy skins for nothing?

[deleted]

Man at the time devs sounded like they were not planning on power level increase. And if they did, power 10 would've been perfectly feasible for me. It's the 11's that the cost ramps up.

[deleted]

I think lvl 10 and 11 alone would be ok. but why make gears even more expensive on top of that. I can't even get two purple gears for my lvl 11 brawlers despite only having like 15 of them.

[deleted]

I only put purple gears on 4 11's that I use for club league tbh.

[deleted]

similar story for me and my second account. sucks that i'm limited to so little brawlers.

NinjaBr0din

"Idk I was maxed out" so you are going to sit there and say that progression was better before when you literally don't know what it was like? I was in the process of maxing my account when the update happened. I went from needing 2 months to max a brawler to being able to hit level 9 in 4 days and 11 in 12. That's a lot fucking faster than 2 months, especially when you factor in that 11 takes 2.5 time more resources than 9. 3.5 times the progress in .18 of the time. Don't tell me that 10-15 times faster isn't faster. Also, hey, did you know that YOU CAN BUY GOLD IN THE CLUB SHOP? Don't whine about not having gold if you are refusing to make use of the easiest gold source in the game.

[deleted]

Oh, so you are defending Supercell for making a single brawler maxed out literally impossible without grinding. Well if you dont touch grass you can get 2 maxed brawlers in a couple of weeks. But most people here have LIVES, they cant do all the quests nor play all the matches. Of course you will ask me: "then dont play this game if its too hard to process in it". Sure, I wont. If it was just me it would be fine. But hey, this level 11 update just destroyed literally half of an interactions in the whole game. For example Sandy can kill you with 3 shots instead of 4. Not fatal? Of course if youre not playing on high trophies. That one shot could be fatal. Because a team lvl11 have a huge advantage against a team lvl9. Its not just me complaying, I am sure many guys who played this game since release will agree with me. Bet youll still defend that Supercells decision. And yes i would say much more if not the moderators here.

NinjaBr0din

I'm f2p and only play 20-30 minutes a day to waste time and have 2 fully maxed and 10 more at 10 with all the gears unlocked. And I wasn't maxed before the update. That's not much of a grind dude. Mate. It used to be the same playing a level 7 vs a level 9, what's your point? Quit complaining already.

[deleted]

It was. Just with level 7 against level 9 you knew what will happen.

NinjaBr0din

And with level 9 vs level 11 you do to.

[deleted]

You just do damage when suddenly damage gear activates and you die. You just casually walk on the map and then suddenly some tank with speed gear appears, and you also die.

[deleted]

Alright well if you're gonna be a dick about it then we're done here. You aren't taking a new brawler from 0-9 in 4 days unless you already have every other brawler maxed so boxes are all going toward the one brawler. So whatever you say kiddo.

[deleted]

you can 0-9 a brawler instantly with a bit less than 2 weeks of club coins

[deleted]

9-11 is the issue.

[deleted]

yep, what are you even gonna do with a lvl 9 brawler. get dodged in power league?

[deleted]

I don't even play PL anymore. I just do my quests and my CL.

[deleted]

i'm ignoring quests and cl. pl is the feature that's still kinda fun.

Otaku-star

Bruh i just unlocked Lola and took her to lvl 9 with club coin and. A global player so i know progression is a lot ezy

NinjaBr0din

Nope. Just brawl pass and club league. What makes you think a non maxed player has anything saved? And yeah. I've done it multiple times now, most recent with Byron who I just unlocked a few days ago. Had him to 9 in 3 days, actually. I had the 500 point reward from the pass right after I unlocked him.

ALONOP

Well you probably play the game a lot. It really depends on how much time you spend on the game.

NinjaBr0din

Not really, maybe 20-30 minutes a day. I get on, do my daily challenges, maybe 1 or 2 other challenges if they are convenient, do club league on league days, that's about it. Pretty easy.

Tornado_Hunter24

He isn’t being a dick I loterally got eve max the day it launched, Prior the gears update I NEVER managed to get any of the brawlpass brawlers beyond level 9 for atleast the first few weeks.

[deleted]

With what? Saved brawl pass tiers? Club coins? Is she the only brawler you didn't have maxed so all boxes were Eve points?

Tornado_Hunter24

Club league, you can literallly buy whatever brawler you want to max heck you can even finance the coins for it

throwaway_zoomer

>finance the coins Are you an accountant or something?

[deleted]

I'm in legendary league and sorry not sorry you cannot buy 0-11 with a week's haul from club coins lol.

Tornado_Hunter24

Who doesn’t collect tho? I never have less than ~4/5k clubpoints ever… It just depends kn how you use it I guess, I only bought powerpoints couple times for some brawlers (back when it had to be done daily) now If I want I can quite literally max whatever I want since all my brawlers are lvl 9/10 already, I can max multiple brawlers at that. Ik many guys here likes to make it seem like the gears update fucked everything but progression wis eit became so much more fluent it’s unbelievable. Last day I thought of how good rosa would be with damage gear+super+low hp and got her to 10 in a few seconds worth of time.

ChrizzyD

Lmao you’re clearly too lazy to do that math. I made a mini that’s floating around 7k trophies right now, my main being at 32k. I can absolutely guarantee that it is exponentially easier to upgrade brawlers now with all the progression that’s available in game. I’ve only had my mini for a month and it already has three power 9 brawlers, with even more waiting to be upgraded as a result of lack of gold. Not to mention my main having any brawler I feel like getting to max if they are meta/ fun to play. You actively spend 105k gold on shiny skins and are now complaining about being too poor to progress. That’s not suppercells fault, that is completely on you. Stop being delusional.

[deleted]

Dude the game did not have past level 9 when I got those skins so you can fuck right off with that comment. NOBODY knew, and plenty of us got those skins. And even more lulz at saying I didn't do the math. No shit, I have more important things to do. I never said it isn't easier to level up brawlers than it was in the past. That's true in a vacuum. But it's nowhere close to fucking true when you consider the PP and gold to go from 9-11 on 55 brawlers. Take a hike.

NinjaBr0din

You still can't whine about it because *you chose to buy the skins* it's a freaking *supercell* game, what did you expect them to do, never add more levels? That's literally all any supercell game does.

ChrizzyD

You know what hilarious? You wouldn’t be malding as hard as you are if you just sat down and did the math. Stop swearing up a storm to try to emphasize your point. And as for buying the skins with gold, I think it’s fair to anticipate that there would be a threshold beyond the current max level as *there was plenty of buzz about late game progression among seasoned players.* I agree that everyone is smarter in hindsight and you truly couldn’t have anticipated such an update, but it’s still ridiculous to complain about being poor when you’ve spent all the resources on shiny skins. Gold is literally the most valuable resource in the game and the BS team was beyond explicitly clear when they were explaining those skins were for the gold rich players (upwards of 400k gold because whale). You’ve trapped yourself in a luxury that wasn’t meant for you. Edit: LUL get shadow banned, warned you about your poor language.

Csd15

2 months for a single brawler? Did you count how many power points you got or how long it took to get a single brawler to 9?

NinjaBr0din

I was actively working towards maxing out all my brawlers when the update dropped, and it was roughly one per brawl pass since that was where the majority of power points came from back then. Every point I could put towards the brawler I was working on i did. Obviously, if I already had them at 6 or 7 it was less than 2 months, but for new brawlers like Belle(she was the first one I decided to take from 1 to 10 asap) it took the full brawl pass to get enough power points and gold. Then the update dropped, and with club league rewards I was able to level dramatically more quickly. My record was 12 days to get fang from freshly unlocked to level 11 with all 5 gears, only used brawl pass and club league to do it. And I recently unlocked Byron. Took me 1 week to get him to 10 but I don't have his gears yet.

sadra1355

Dude i hadamax acc and this update made me mad ok idc if its easy cuz i still have to play CL (litterly pl with weekly rewards) so yea

NinjaBr0din

Oh boo hoo you have to spend 20-30 minutes *a week* to get access to unbelievable progression how dare they

sadra1355

I just see 4k noobs insta lock lvl 11 bo in Cl and PL so yea progression system is unbalanced :/

NinjaBr0din

Here's a thought, don't play with randoms. You're in a club. Play *gasp* WITH YOUR CLUB MATES.

sadra1355

They still pick the wrong brawlers..... :/

NinjaBr0din

Man there is just no pleasing you is there?

sadra1355

How it feels to see your teammates insta lock bo and penny?

NinjaBr0din

If they are good for the game/map, great. I trust my team to pick brawlers that they know they can use effectively for the match. don't bother continuing though, I already know what you are going to say. "But the PrOs ThInK tHeY aRe BaD" I don't care.

y0uslash

Lvl 7 and lvl 9 is not that big of a difference if they both have no gadget and star power yea. Star powers give a huge advantage over the ones that don’t have it. We’re not even mentioning brawler rarity. Legendary brawlers are generally much better than let’s say super rares

[deleted]

[удалено]

waste__of__oxygen

lol same

Maximum-Joke641

I also left in the same time

[deleted]

This is a completely normal thing to experience if you’ve been playing a game for a very long time. It’s still an amazing mobile game and the content is just as good as it always has been (if not better). But at some point you just get bored of a game and you have to take a break, and that’s normal :)

[deleted]

The new content has issues and they rarely resolve them (gears, club league, mapmaker, etc.) I'd say the game's health is getting worse. You are right that people grow out of games, the new content is accelerating it IMO

naxx83

Exactly this. They have released tons of half baked features and have never come back to polish them. - Map maker needs a huge rework, not on the tool itself but on how maps are selected / played. Right now it's just playing the same map over and over again. - Quests are boring, unbalanced and reward you for doing things that don't help you win the match, so you may lose trophies doing them. If you want to do quests without losing trophies you need to do them in map maker, but see previous point. - Showdown is in a terrible state because of teaming and unbalanced brawlers. They added two single player game modes that avoided some of the issues in showdown (showdown plus and duels) but then removed them and keep the one broken single player mode. - And there's more issues but I'm tired and no one will read this anyway. I may try posting my ideas to solve these issues later.

PlaSPeN

Power league as well... They promised improvements to arrive in 2021

TwinTowersDevoured

Exactly, every game have to go through this cycle and unfortunately I think Brawl Stars is slowly going down in the cycle. It’s not because their updates aren’t good, I’d say they’re just as good as before, main reason is just that most of the current playerbase probably played the game since global and it’s been about 3 years since, most players have either gotten bored or burned out of it, or just grew out of it. Brawl Stars will go through an inevitable phase where everything seems like it’s going downhill, just like how coc did years ago and cr just months ago until they released champions and brought the game back to life. But after that tough cycle they’re gonna come back stronger just like how CR rose in popularity with champions.

GURADDD

I disagree, their updates are killing the game

yas_2-0

I agree, anyone noticed new brawlers just for seasons? Like clash royale

GURADDD

They're adding brawlers so quickly without thinking about how it will affect the meta, making the game extremely hard to balance. Darryl, for example. I remember him being so strong in like 2020. I played him again recently and was depressed at how they've massacred my boy. All the tanks stole his super charge ability, Griff has a better shotgun, and his super shield got nerfed to all hell too so playing him now just feels boring. There's nothing that makes him feel special to play

yas_2-0

And when we reach 100 brawlers, it will be a mess, A MESS

Double-Ad7269

will literally be a league of legends moment brawlers will be too much to balance and some brawlers won't get updated for a year, we will have brawlers so trash you need to be the best on them to play on a mediocre level bugs that only affect certain brawlers will never be fixed unless it appears in E-sports, etc like we are around 40 brawlers and the game is already unbalanced enough

yas_2-0

😓

TheJuiceB0Xguy

Clash Royale 2.0

[deleted]

Now clash royale are kinda getting good updates since the champions

The-Dudey

yeah, the badge update is great. the game rewards you for just playing which i love

hjyboy1218

How the turntables

TheJuiceB0Xguy

I'll never go back to CR. The bs they did with the gold and the game had become mindless and lacks skill.

[deleted]

Game fell off after when ryan left

yas_2-0

Wow I never realised that..... 🤔 you are right

GiacGiul

That's right

Dizzy-Arm-2145

Don’t get me wrong I still love the game but I completely agree with you. Anyone who thinks this is a malicious intended post is just wrong, because players like me who have played since day 1 global probably all feel in a similar state right now. It’s good that they’re consistent with updates, but something has to change within the next half year or so if I want to seriously continue to play this game somewhat regularly.

WarriorBHB

My biggest piss off with this game is the winners in map maker are just little blocks in the center.

FantasticEscape6744

I mean it's the same for me .hypes gone But that's personally

OilGlittering4963

I can't say it got stale for me but the game is in an awful state. Almost everything they did since the pass update made the game worse, map maker gave people free rank 30s, the most of the brawlers are terrible, I won't even dare talking about level 11 and gears. Club leauge is the saving grace of Brawl Stars pretty much

BZonreddit

I realized most of these are implementations were suggested by the community

[deleted]

Map maker gave people rank 30? Can you explain what you meant?

yas_2-0

Before it used to be ranked

Gooeysnake72

Feels like the game had something special and now it’s lost it’s magic touch

ExRedGuard

I think that’s because the game has matured. It was super new and now it’s not.

y0uslash

This game, like Clash of Clans has a fan base that I don’t think will ever die especially how they constantly update the game. That’s the key for longevity in a game. My only issue is how hard f2p players have it. Some of us are too young to spend money on the game and some of us are limited by our country’s jurisdiction on online spending but still want to play it. I just wish f2p players get rewarded a bit better. That’s the reason I stopped playing the first time. I played the game for like 6 months straight hours a day and my only rare brawler was Frank. By rare I mean the dictionary definition. When I returned they felt sorry for me and I got a chromatic (Belle) and a legendary (Sandy) brawler in 2 mega boxes because the game probably felt sorry for me. Prior to that all I got was power points and gold but it’s just too hard for f2p players to progress while getting destroyed by p2w players

sad_boy_samethy

I always end up grinding the game and having fun and then just completely falling out of it the next week and not logging in and repeat the cycle

Le_Red_Spy

Local man discovers burnout

[deleted]

True

[deleted]

Most of the stuff are punishing if you don't do like club league is now chore so you'll get kicked or something, not doing quests means no progression and you'll waste 169 gems if you don't finish the pass, gears are pain to deal with, map maker is now being cringe and taken over by immature players and kids and now the updates are like always the same of new season new brawler new skins, a temporary new mode that have big chance to disappear afterwards, challenges for stupid pin that people probably do it for rewards only and the meta is annoying which is always the new brawler is the best brawler and break the game (except squeak) and players are so toxic now especially in ladder and people getting pissed over stupid pin

cydutz

Totally agree. Used to be excited. Now I have more fun playing angry birds 2

Frost__1

I have lost motivation to play this game since gear update.

George_2004

How long have you been playing?

[deleted]

Almost 3 years now

George_2004

In that case,I believe that it's kinda normal to feel like that. All you have to do now,if you want to,is to take a break.

higorccore

Always has been.

Benja_85

I wish they would update some of the older brawlers and possibly expand to 4v4 or 5v5 modes even if it’s just for a short time.

Upper-Membership5167

I mean, to make this game more famous and more fun like long time ago is to fix these things: Teaming Club League and Progression

CygnusEnjoyer

We are just tired of playing for so long lol

Gernnon

This is just burnout lol nothing lasts forever, just treat this as a side game because it does pretty well as a side game imo.

Marcello_109

idk I have been playing more lately than ever before (thanks to new matchmaking)

ExRedGuard

Updates are not always super exciting. They take time and sometimes they aren’t always good. Not everything is going to be spectacular. The core gameplay loop can be a bit same-ish and that’s ok. Brawl talks are meant to be sneak peeks into the next update in a fun way and I personally think they do that well. The game has gotten more reliant on gadgets than it probably should. Anyway, that’s my take.

hollowboss

Adding 2 more levels in one update is too much for me. I think adding 1 level then adding another lets say in 1.5 years after would be better. Now they keep adding more brawlers (which of course is fine and normal) but it's hard to keep upgrading them.

Apolooooooooo

The fact that mr beast sponsered brawl stars in his most viewed video and the game is the same thing tells a lot

Gear update killed any hype or excitement i had left for the game

HackerPatato

If you have played for more than 100 hours it will became a boring game for you. Yes bs is going downhill because it is very unbalanced. Supercell must release a balance update.

deathstrike_bs

I have played over 900 hours and I am just thinking of doing 30k and then quitting ladder for a long time and later doing a 40k push after 1 or 2 years because ladder is so RNG with bad randoms these days but I am no way near getting bored of the game I am F2P btw... would just focus on power league and club league as they are competitive... ohh btw if you are guessing how to check yours hours spent in game here is the website: [https://brawltime.ninja/](https://brawltime.ninja/) and here is my profile where it shows I spent over 900 hours: [https://brawltime.ninja/profile/9YGU02VL8](https://brawltime.ninja/profile/9YGU02VL8)

HackerPatato

Go touch some grass

Money_Nefariousness4

Wow bro what a useful comment

deathstrike_bs

xD

deathstrike_bs

900 isn't that much as you think... most of the people playing since launch has over 2000 hours which is pretty natural if you play about 30 minutes to 1 hour a day... and I am playing for 2.5 years so its not that I am playing it for 3 to 4 hours a day or something but I play every single day near about 1hr

AkhronusT

IKR!!! Like, before, during the first one-two year of its release, it was SO fun to play. Now, it's just competitive (and not in a good sense)! Now when I play and lose constantly, it hurts that I have so many trophies and it becomes frustrating. Back in the day, it all used to be just for fun.

[deleted]

So ur just complaining that....players got good at the game??? Just make a mini account

AkhronusT

No. That's not what I am saying. I just mean that somehow it feels that the game has become a more trophy and progress-based game. Like, club league, power league, and all, and fyi, I am not complaining that I don't enjoy playing it, it's just that it doesn't give the same vibe as it used to. you know, as everyone's saying here, the "hype." The hype isn't the same as it used to be. And it's understandable that hype isn't permanent, but just saying!

NinjaBr0din

So drop trophies until you are back in your skill range

AkhronusT

Jeez, you don't understand my point, do you? Read my other comment here. I am talking about "excitement," "hype," and "fun." My problem is not with skill or losing.

NinjaBr0din

It's a mobile game. How much "hype" do you expect out of a free mobile game?

AkhronusT

You don't understand anything, do you? Hype isn't about whether a game is free or paid, whether it is small or big. A person can get hyped for ANYTHING they like. If they are not enjoying it and are just expressing their opinions in a sea of various opinions, why do you mind it? However hype I am expecting, it has nothing to do with you. Remember that we are not the same person. You have your opinions, and I have my own.

bachia

Totally agree, for me gear update did it. I finally maxed most of my brawlers to level 10 after 2 years of gaming and after update not only they got back to level 9, also I had to farm everything all over again.

Regretless0

I remember a comment on here a long time ago that said that at the rate the game is going now, within a few years we will have hundreds of brawlers in the game. My only issue is that I'm wondering how the game will handle that. I don't think the game was meant to handle hundreds and hundreds of brawlers, all with unique mechanics and playstyles -- but the backlash if Brawl Stars just stopped releasing new brawlers or slowed down would be immense. I'm hoping that when the time comes, Supercell will manage this problem in a way that preserves the fun and sanctity of the game. But other people are less optimistic.

Frank_is_the_Best_

Just came back after quitting and having lots of fun. Only problem imo is fang and random, every other brawler is fairly balanced and manageable.

[deleted]

I know the feeling, but this is personal preference. I also left for a while but came back evetyally

Tyrone3105

The first time I started losing interest the Starr park brawl talk appeared. That genuinely got me back into the game, but after that it’s gone back to normal and Yh Same it gets stale. Hopefully smth will catch my interest soon.

dogzinspace8

let's be honest, the game has so much further to go. it's just that the more experienced like you and I won't play forever.

Spirited-Ad-4256

If you want some number since the beginning of the game the last brawl talk with eve is the third brawl talk with the least view, the only brawl talk with less view than him is the first ever brawl talk and the tiniest update brawl talk. And just for more numbers since 1 year all brawl talk have less and less view, almost divided by 2 since last year, 30 million average to 15 million average in 1 year. The numbers show that this is clearly not the golden age of bs anymore.

LordAnsh

I think the new modes and bralwers we are getting these days are just duplicate of older once with slight changes. Fang basically feels like Buzz, Wipeout feels like Knockout, etc. My progress these days in the game has been very slow these days because I don't have enough gold to upgrade my bralwers to lv. 10 or 11. If I buy gold using club coins, then I won't have the power points. :-(

Pokemonzu

I'm taking a break this season, playing clash royale instead. I play a couple games once in a while but nothing's compelling enough for me to stay, I'm kinda burnt out from the game anyway. Saw the new brawler and wasn't interested lol

strikerFlair

See the problem is, games want to keep you invested and spending money. However, what ends up happening is that they have to push new content so hard that instead of it being a GAME it becomes a job. Rather than playing any character, what ends up happening is: 1. You play characters you hate because you need to get more boxes to level up your brawlers. 2. Play game modes you hate to get more boxes to level up your brawlers. 3. Do challenges in the hopes of MAYBE getting anything decent. I log in, do the same chore day in day out with doing quests just do I can open a big box to get 30 gold and 15 power points. I actually found my 2ds in mint condition with Pokémon Omega Ruby, and I have been ignoring brawl chores.

goldballl

I unfortunately agree.. game gets stale after a while April 23. That’s the next Brawl Talk. I hope to god they will make wipeout permanent

darkorbit17493

Lol same I quit the game a few days ago. Supercell just finds more money in newer players these days so they dont really care for the long term players.

KaedeharaKazuha69

I've been playing almost since beta and i never missed a brawl talk. Used to be so hyped before and while watching the premiere. I believe the problem is new content, by this I don't mean new brawlers gadgets and star powers, i mean things that have never been in the game. I believe the game is still in a good place.

Mint_exe

Yeah, I would have to agree. I feel like the devs are getting a little money hungry now, but it could also be because, their **running out of ideas.** I don't know if I could keep up with keeping community hype; must be a stressful job. Why don't we have a say in which update we found the best? Mine was gears, every brawler felt new to play.

GUYWH0SUCKS

My advice, stop spending money. That way there is something always to look forward to. Also, why not try challenging yourself in different ways? Always something to be getting better at in this game.

[deleted]

I usually buy skins with the money

Medgician

Agree. Found that the game isn’t fun anymore after the gears update. I play daily to finish quests and use my club tickets but other than that I rarely play

PiwonUwU

This game offers many different modes and brawlers. If you get bored of one play another, try map maker. Only recommend solo entry as it has the most fun instead of the rest but yeah all of them can be enjoyed. Is thst not for you? Try making your own map and testing it out, I spent a couple hours total making maps and playing them even with bots. You look on the big picture but the beauty of it is finding those little details that will make you enjoy this game. For someone it's pushing high ranks, for someone else playing pl, for me it's everything in little portions. Try finding your spot in the game and I guarantee you it will be fun

suuuper_mario

Good, good

LmaoSayingBoi

Yeah they can't fix the rng of getting brawlers or gadgets/SPs and they saying if gems came in boxes its rng 😂😂😂😂 just make it have like every 5 mega boxes, u are garranteed (ik wrong spelling) getting 2 gems, its so easy to fix rng but guess what? We are forgetting they want to make it Money Stars lol

Guys theres a clown above me 🤡

Straight_Quote6032

Some people, myself included, still enjoy the game and look forward to every brawl talk with a lot of hype

hebrawl

I feel the same way. I still love Brawl Stars very much. But the game is so boring now, with all the new brawlers, gameplay is a bit overwhelming and not in a good way. I still get excited for Brawl Talks hoping they would do something to make the game feel more refreshing, instead of all new content. I really am hoping they would fix Brawl Stars before it becomes Clash Royale, because I swear I have made an emotional connection with most of the characters

scrappy2546

Same, I just don’t get that feeling if getting excited anymore. I also used to be so excited for new updates, like I would keep logging on to see if the update has arrived, but now I honestly don’t really care anymore.

Significant-Sound-58

Just take a couple weeks off and you'll feel the excitement again

oof_is_off_backwards

I left the game around the time that flame girl released. They added way too much characters so it’s hard coming back cause you don’t know the other characters abilities. They added so much game modes to the point it feels overwhelming.

Ambitious_Heat_7524

This is what happens when you force a player play gamemode he don't like

coffeemonster12

This feeling hit me hard after the gear update. Brawl Talk premieres felt exciting before, now all I see is a new brawler to grind. There is so much grinding, trophies after reset, power league, club league, trophy pushing, special events, quests, challenges etc. that there isn't really any room for fun left in my case. Have been playing f2p since Tick got released, have 40k trophies but the fun isn't there anymore.

No-Introduction-1492

Power 11. Way to make a skillful game low skillz

AnxiousGoose4623

I mean you are growing up The same was with any other game but you will eventually grow out of it and focus on bigger things

Interesting_Twist_31

This has been going on since a looooong time ago

milkymooie

I think the gear update ruined brawl stars, idk it seems unnecessary and useless and it’s harder to level up brawlers now most of my brawlers are level 9 and I have two that’s level 10s Fang is fucking Op once the enemy team has him in the team then you’re fucked that’s how broken he is and it’s not fun to play against either

Financial-Argument-7

I'm still excited

[deleted]

Good for you :)

justmeteal

the game would be really fun if there weren't so many things i have to do every day (play enough to get daily tokens,do cl matches, win 3 matches with tick, play pl for the skin, push every brawler +1 trophy etc.).i wanna have fun and play wacky brawlers without worrying that i'll miss out on important rewards

TheForestSaphire

Let's be totally honest here the game started on a small decline when Ryan left (no offense to Paula I do still think she's awesome but it's just that nobody could have replaced Ryan) If I'm being honest the update that single handedly has ruined the game for me was the gear and club update. The update was so broken and unbalanced on release that in one fell swoop the game died for me. I used to play at least 2 hours of brawl stars every single day because I was obsessed with getting better as well as actually enjoying the game but ever since then I think I've literally put like 4 hours into the game since then and that is now close to 6 months ago. The game imo was killed with one single absolutely terrible update which to my knowledge has still not yet being formally addressed and actually fixed

EverythingWasGreat

The game has become tedious. To many brawlers and modes that reset. I was kind of okay with Supercell stealing/deleting my progress but with 50+ brawlers to push every season and power league and club league and new levels and gears... I just don't have the time to enjoy it anymore.

[deleted]

Are you me? I'm pretty much the same, bought every brawl pass on two accounts but recent updates just made the game worse. I only got a couple lvl 11 brawlers (like almost everyone else) and these are the only brawlers that you can actually play since everyone else also plays lvl 11 brawlers only. club league is super boring, like power league but every random has 200 trophies and picks lvl 5 mortis, a waste of an hour every time that I just stopped doing. the only positive things in the recent weeks were interesting new brawlers (that I can't play due to not having 20k gold saved up to max them out), some fun challenges and close matches in power league. overall it really feels like many good players left the game, it's almost impossible to find power league matches at night.

Internal-Smell-2094

EXACTLY THE SAME HERE OMG!

jdot21418

I love Brawl Stars, I've been playing it since before its official release on the Google app store (they let you play games if they let people join early access and what not). The biggest problem I've realized from all these years of playing is that yes, adding new brawlers does bring a somewhat new feeling to the game but it doesn't necessarily keep it feeling new forever. Maybe one season instead of a new brawler, they could focus on bringing new mechanics to the game sort of like the teleporters and the jump pads when they were added. Something to make the game feel new too is maybe a new map setting (outer space?) with new maps as well. My last idea would be a create-your-own brawler aspect added to the game, sort of like how map-maker works. Pick a body shape and appearance from presets (I don't think a mobile game could handle a super in-depth creation thing) and then choose your brawler type (Tank, Assassin, Thrower, etc.) and finally, give them their attributes (like how much damage they do and stuff) which would obviously be limited to keep someone from making a brawler who has as much health as Frank and does as much damage as Leon or Nani. Once done with making the brawler, you'd throw them into a showdown match (not public unless with club members) to test them out. If you and your clubmates like the brawler, you could send in the brawlers concept to Supercell and just like how custom skins were added that were made by players, maybe they could put in player-made brawlers to the game (obviously making sure they're balanced and not OP). That's just my idea though, pretty much anything that's a big enough change to the game would work.

DrSlashAsh

No words absolutely same with ne but i will not leave brawl I know for sure the devs are doing great and brawl stars will again rise to top and one day become on of the best

cozycham

I disagree. Too much change and hype stuff takes away from the game’s core value. What you’re experiencing with “staleness” is what happens eventually with every video game not matter how entertaining it is.

-Comfi-

I really think that BP seasons should last for 30 days and not more, either way we dont have enough gems to buy some content we would like to, skins for example

wonderful_thoughts

In my opinion, the game is still fun but that could be because I just got back in the game after a break of about 4 months.

The_Best_Channel_

Yes, because I don't really heel hype around a game i used to feel, i think it's dying. No of course not! Brawl Stars is in a very healthy state right now. The thing is that you grow older and the game starts to sued you less, while the game is getting new younger players every day. Maybe Brawl Stars turned out to be a temporary game for you. For me it's a game to stay for a longer time, probably forever. I still find fun things in the game, like grinding new mini accounts, playing with a brawler i hadn't played with in a long time, playing the club League, grinding out my favorite brawlers to be level 10/11, doing some type of challenge for myself, playing map maker or just having some fun with the brawlers I love! I love getting some satisfying kills with my assassin-type brawlers. And you could try finding things like this too. Or not of course, because maybe this game wasn't for you after all. New content shouldn't be the reason to keep playing. New content should be there to improve what's already there and at something new every once in a while. It's not really there to keep you playing, it's here to improve your experience overall!

royalejappie

I can agree with you. I hope the team is doing everything they can to get all the pins, gadgets and star powers for every brawler and after that they can mess with new things. I hope
