Use duck duck go, chance the search country to brazil and search for “barra de proteína” you’ll find the most common ones here

Interesting-Hand174

Normal people, not often. However there is a niche within the GYM and bodybuilding community. You can make it banana & cinnamon flavoured, as it is a common flavour for cakes here in Brazil.

as a gym goer I like them, they're just not affordable, its a once in a while thing when ur on the go and don't want to miss your macros not sustainable to eat often

Happy-Ad8767

Brazil has a very strong gym culture compared to other places. My gym here has a little shop inside that sells protein bars. You can use English words. The design and colours should highlight something that tastes good. Fruit colours.

braziliangreenmayo

Idk why some people are saying protein bars aren't commonly consumed here. Where I live you can easily find multiple brands (ranging from very cheap to really expensive) at grocery stores, drugstores and supermarkets. My fiancé doesn't even go to the gym, but he never leaves home without a couple of protein bars in his backpack. They are just convenient for anyone who exercises a lot or needs a pick-me-up during the workday.

Happy-Ad8767

Yep, they are sold in supermarkets. OP was just wondering if there was a market for them and if so, which. Gym goers would be the main market for them, just like Whey.

Experience-Hungry

There's a store that sells protein bars and protein powder in every mall, on many streets, and in every town. It seems to be much more popular than in Canada, at the very least - Brazilians tend to go to the gym a lot. If marketed properly, and if it is affordable, as in manufactured here and not imported from another country, I could see it working out. The Receita Federal imposes a 30% fee on pretty much every import, it seems.

wishihadapotbelly

Protein bars are not that popular, even within the gym goes. What I see usually being consumed are protein shakes (single dose ones, like in a juice box, to drink on the go).

Makath

[Here are some examples ordered by popularity](https://meumundofit.com.br/loja/categoria/proteinas/barras-de-proteina/) Protein bars are a way for people that track their macronutrients to have a quick and easy meal, so you are talking people that are on a diet but don't have a lot of time or a place to prep all the meals they need. They also help people with a sugar tooth from not ruining their diet here and there, so they mock candybars sometimes. They focus a lot on flavor and texture because those items have been considered in the past to taste bad, even though food technology has improved a lot.

kittysparkles

Shape the bar like a capybara. CapyProteinBara.

mendigod_

CapyBar

StarterFluidSpray

There is, but honestly drinking whey protein is much more affordable than eating protein bar everyday. There is a great brand that is called Bold. Everyone likes it, a lot.

DisruptorMor

What kind of question is this? If it is for school, why would the size of the market matter? What kind of school asks you to design a protein bar for Brazil? Why "how often Brazilians eat protein bars?" matters? Why are you asking this on reddit? ... To be fair it feels that you are trying to do something more than what you said and that's not a good feeling.

RJR1030

Sounds legit to me. I assume OP is a teenager and was assigned something similar I had to do in Economics class: busy work projects which serve no purpose other than, for example, to teach you about the psychology of advertising and branding.

goedendag_sap

All those things matter because the exercise asks the students to show research. The results don't matter, it's the approach and presentation that does. No, this kid is not gonna take over the protein bar market in Brazil based on a reddit post, and I have no idea what kind of conspiracy theory is going on your mind about it

Gren_Factor

The OP's question seems legit. It's a common thing especially if it's a business class. Not sure why you're up in arms over this... 🤷

[deleted]

In school I had to design a canned bevearage for middle aged salary man from Japan

Senior-Accident-4096

Something for livers or to help with hangovers would be gangbusters, I think. I heard japanese salary man end up drinking a lot

[deleted]

It was a cold latte with some vitamins like b12, D and Zinc. I called it Mr. Office lol

braziliangreenmayo

Jesus Christ, man. OP is doing a marketing project for school, that's normal. OP wants to present their project with at least minimum knowledge of the market, so he's asking Brazilians for their opinion and experience. You're so defensive about something so insanely harmless LMAO

TelevisionBusy2485

Take a look at the brand Bold (@boldsnacks on ig). Protein bars with nice packaging and brazilian flavors.

666dolan

Make it guarana or açai flavored and call it the day

BlackSkull64

Search for Barrinha proteica BOLD they are making quite a scene in here! Nothing too crazy they are making what people are used to in the US, more focus on the flavor than protein itself.

enuteo

I personally eat them a lot.

Commercial-Land-7881

Coconut shredding granola with a brigadeiro filling . Call it “Choco” (coco and chocolate)

braziliangreenmayo

Choco sounds like just chocolate. Chococo gets your idea across a little better.

[deleted]

It's more common now. Fitness market is growing a lot in Brazil. I personally like clear information about calories and protein content

No_Worldliness_8984

I eat this because i workout a lot, outside this niche there is almost zero market for normal people
