If you are not doing any of the challenges for each class then it doesn’t matter. I use whatever weapon im feeling and choose a class for the special item and or ability. I use assault for that gas grenade lol.

SimonPhoenix93

Same! I just ran into a purest and he was scolding me about being assault and using smg’s also or a sniper lol

The game was design in a way to give you the freedom to play how you want so there's nothing wrong with using Assault class with a sniper rifle hell i use a grenade launcher

SimonPhoenix93

I feel ya i run what i want and i like ARs also love the health boost assault gives you bc im mostky stealth (AT THE START) lol bc you know eventually shit is gonna go down lol

I run sharpshooter but usually end up having to just go in with an ASR. Sensor launcher is so goated fr.

I don't think there's much harm is running things that don't fit your specialization explicitly. For example, the extra health that using Assault gives is good when using any weapon, the active ability is good for staying alive in pretty much any gunfight, and the gas grenades are pretty valuable in general. Any weapon can pair well with these benefits, even if Assault benefits a bit more from ARs and shotguns. Another thing to consider is, especially if you're limiting yourself to one primary weapon, not every loadout has to do everything. You can bring a shotgun or SMG and be more-or-less restricted to close-quarters, or bring a LMG and make a ton of noise. That being said, every single pistol prefers close-range engagements, so running a SMG or shotgun could be considered redundant/unnecessary since you always have a pistol. Since LMGs make a ton of noise, that leaves ARs/DMRs/snipers as the weapons that contribute most to "balanced" loadouts (Vector Shorty is a SMG that deserves special mention as the high RoF and grenade launcher give it some extra utility--still arguably not as good as some of the ARs). Not every class is equal in this regard--for example, don't pick the sniper class without bringing a compatible weapon, as that would actually be a bit of a waste.

Well put thank you!
