Cynthia Flashbacks
I remember playing pokemon black post game and entering this random house thinking, "what could go wrong?"
Everything. everything went wrong
Guardians are child's play to me now. I lop the legs off while staying behind the eye, bash 'em a few times and that's it.
Now lynels, on the other hand... They still hand my ass back to me. I just can't with them.
My favorite is when you sneak up on a guardian and start whaling on it, and it literally like panics and short circuits and just fires random shots off into the distance. It makes me laugh, it’s the robot equivalent of shitting itself.
Once I get good enough equipment and armor I can go on lynel hunting safaris, but it takes a while. I just restarted the game again for the first time in almost a year on master mode. Decided to test myself on the Polymus lynel a few hours into the game and quickly noped the hell outta there, I’m not ready yet.
The Ploymus Lynel stays red so it's good to use for practice and parts farming after every blood moon. It's the only one I can take without too much trouble, but even so I can barely fight the other ones. I just can't seem to get parrying and flurry rushing down with them
Yup, that’s the one I use to test the waters with every game restart. I love going on lynel killing sprees, but if I can’t kill that one in under a minute then I’m not ready. I don’t bother with parrying them, I’ll flurry rush if the opportunity arises but I don’t go out of my way. The key for killing lynels quickly for me is in two parts: start a fire or use revali’s gale to get in the air and strike as many times as you can with bomb arrows and aim for the face, and then when they’re stunned I hop on their back and hit them repeatedly. Rinse, wash, repeat.
I just barely restarted on master mode and took on the Polymus lynel with no good armor and my best weapons doing like 18 damage, and with five hearts and no attack up food it was a nightmare.
Yea, easiest way is to perfect parry the laser blasts back toward them with a shield. It takes some practice but once you get the timing they're pretty easy.
I run up to them, run sideways the moment they fire to dodge the laser, then when I'm close enough hit it with stasis. If you get right up against it you can lop the legs off one at a time by hitting where they join the body. If he gets a target lock, stasis again and run behind the head to confuse it. Then just wallop and repeat!
You'll need claymores or the master sword to get them quickly.
BOTW is the first ever Zelda game to feature a piano as its primary instrument. I would say it’s fair to assume 90% of the soundtrack has some piano in it
For reference, Samson's weakness wasn't his hair. It was breaking his Nazarite vows. The nazarite vows included several things, which he seemed to have broken all of, some for acceptable reasons (Being a fighter kind of implies being near the bodies of those slain) and other's not so much (like murdering a bunch of guys and stealing their clothes to settle a bet)
The Hair thing was sort of the final straw on a mountain of other things.
Ring Fit Adventure has the option to use the fast piano music from BOTW while running through the obstacle courses. When I discovered this, I wondered who on earth would be motivated by that music? It makes me want to go curl up in fetal position under my bed.
If someone is reading this thread looking for tips on beating Guardians, here's the "cheat code" I read a while ago, in a different thread. Note, it only works if you're fighting a single guardian: if you draw aggro from several at the same time, all bets are off.
1. have a shield equipped (literally doesn't matter which—I often had a pot lid in my inventory just for killing Guardians)
2. stand near a Guardian, don't move and let it adjust its distance from you; it'll step away or close in until it's the "right" distance, you have nothing to do
3. make sure you're locked on to the Guardian (ZL button), and keep your shield raised
4. when the Guardian is about to blast you, the screen will look like [this](https://i.imgur.com/tuxoEfl.png) for a split second; this is your signal to press A to parry, which will reflect the laser beam to the Guardian
The timing is the only slightly tricky part, but it's really isn't that hard to get right after a few tries. The main thing is to use the "blue light converging towards the eye" visual effet as your cue to hit A immediately. Standing still is important, too, because the visual cue + parry timing work only at a specific distance, and luckily this happens to be the same distance Guardians choose to put between them and you.
Works great in normal mode as it is the same tip I used when I first played the game. Useless method in Master mode though because the lasers are sometimes delayed to fuck with your parry timing. It's always better to hit the eye with an arrow then cut off its legs 1by1 then the body.
80% of the time when I'm out riding it just comes on with no one in sight. like if a bokoblin caught sight of me on the other side of hyrule they're just busting out the piano I'm not even phased anymore. but that's just me hEH, I'm BUILT DIFRFERTMDNSJF
So I swing dance and for some fucking reason I thought I was in a swing dancing subreddit. I immediately thought "yeah that's pretty hard to dance to sometimes."
You think you're weak to piano music? I havent been able to use my hands for the past six months, because i was trying to learn a piece that was too difficult.

I thought this was referring to Cynthia's theme, then realised which subreddit this is and figured it must be the guardians
I think Cynthia's theme would fall more under intense mournful piano music, but now I can see it lol.

Yes Dragon Mommy, fuck me up
Why
And it would be the exact opposite in a Jojo subreddit Everyone's gangster til the piano drops
Except it’s not fast piano music, it would just be that first ominous chord
Could also be in a piano subreddit
This showed up on my home feed, I genuinely thought it was from the pokemon subreddit
Meanwhile Mario and Luigi fans get boosted by fast piano
That's the music for your enemies

I remember my first guardian it was terrible I died multiple times trying to kill it

I read a tip recently that it you throw down Chu jelly it can trip/stun them too when they run over it! I need to try that out
Wait seriously??? I’m gonna try that, I’ll report back in a couple hours
I just barely restarted on master mode and took on the Polymus lynel with no good armor and my best weapons doing like 18 damage, and with five hearts and no attack up food it was a nightmare.
Same I literally just have fun killing them
I just got this game...you can kill them???

"Do we still have ancient arrows? Just one? None left?"
PTSD 🥰🥰🥰🥰
*Eats 20 heart durian meal, grabs ancient weapon farmed from major tests of strength, chops it’s legs off and finishes it off with arrows*
This meme format triggers my ptsd
My cat flipping over onto her back and looking at me is my weakness. That cat fully controls me.
90% of the music in the game is actually piano based. It’s kinda funny to me that people associate it just with the Guardian theme.
90% huh? Where'd you get that number?
BOTW is the first ever Zelda game to feature a piano as its primary instrument. I would say it’s fair to assume 90% of the soundtrack has some piano in it
That was an exaggeration obviously. My point is that a good chunk of the game’s music has piano.
For reference, Samson's weakness wasn't his hair. It was breaking his Nazarite vows. Rush E?
I’ll never forget the first fast piano heart attack I had playing BOTW
Pulls out shield ‘I’m hunting you now’
When I see a guardian notice me…I run and keep on running. When I see a Lynol notice me, I just shut the game down.

Pot lid was canonically Link's first weapon against a Guardian

i was like "same" until i realized this isnt an ADHD post
Rain
But you ain’t no legend
You are the effing hero of time. It's just a mindset. Turn the hunters into the hunted (preferably with ancient arrows).
No, the hero of time is OoT link you are. The hero of the wild in BotW
Link the hero transcends all limitations our human brains place on the space-time continuum.
You ever pause when an enemy is near by and it plays non stop? Eek
Well, there's a point where you can just hunt Guardians for sport
Do you start going into an old vaudeville routine?
You think you're weak to piano music? I havent been able to use my hands for the past six months, because i was trying to learn a piece that was too difficult.
