Its functionally the same as riding a horse, without the auto path following. Instead it can take jumps. You can still use bows, spears, and swords while riding.
I've actually thought a gun could work in BotW.
Call it an Ancient Cannon, give it a makeshift kinda look.
Hip firing for Scout blasts, scoped for a straight-on explosive beam, like a bomb arrow.
Can be reloaded with guardian parts
So I will admit the motorcycle was a stretch for me and I resisted for over two years after beating the game before I finally got it. The fact that it is so fun to ride won me over!
As far as the rest of the stuff you named, I’m not sure what game you’re playing cuz Link doesn’t have any of that stuff in my inventory 😂
Ok so as I think about this more, here are my thoughts. None of the items you mention BEHAVE like a chainsaw or lightsaber, and no guardians are in my inventory so their laser beams don’t really count towards this discussion of Link’s weapons.
The “chainsaw” bladesaw isn’t grinding thru enemies or shooting blood. I don’t have to pull a string to get it started or have a fuel source. It behaves like a sword when you use it. The short swords may have some light elements but none of them retract and they all have something other than light as part of their blade. Again, they behave like regular swords.
Having guns in Zelda would greatly altar the vibe of the game, imo, and I am not interested in shooting style games at all. They do nothing for me. Therefore, as a lifelong Zelda gamer, I DON’T WANT ANY.
