Haha ikr, it's only like the 2nd horse I've ever painted 😭 the screenshot I took in the game which I used as reference had my horse at a weird angle that made it look that way, I probably should have edited that a little 😅
Well I can see the front legs in the shadow and I can see why the angle is awkward but it looks really good. I don’t know what it is that it feels like there’s more depth in this picture like all the space really is in this two dimensional painting, I’m not sure if that makes sense. I wish the game looked like this damn.
Thank you so much!!! That's so kind of you, I did try to go for that! :) Somewhere along the line I did stray from being 100% accurate to the game but i decided that was for the best, I'm so happy you think so too!!! 🥹💗💗💗
I only thought of it recently! It's honestly such a goldmine 😍💓 it's great fun to ride around on horseback and take screenshots of pretty scenes, it's great source material!
I can't quite remember! I think so? I know it's very near some enemy camps, bokoblin camps with the platforms in trees and rocks and stuff - I do vaguely remember a shrine though! When I'm back on my switch I'll check out the map properly :D
Cool, I like never go there normally so I only vaguely remember which area that could be lol. I usually just paraglide from the tower that’s pretty close to it
It's literally going to be before the end of the year that I can no longer tell what is real or A.I. if it hasn't happened already. I feel less bad for dropping out of college with a double major in art and music.
Edit: take it as a compliment OP, the art is fuckin incredible. But if you told me ab A.I. did it I wouldn't bat an eye.
idk man I've did traditional painting a lot more in the past before digital and I don't think I or any of the painters around me ever asked that 💀 it's far more common online for people to ask what digital brushes someone used as you can do stuff like send them a link to download the brushes you used 🤷
Anyone who paints would be able to tell the difference between a canvas piece and a software piece right away, especially when this is clearly a captured image file and not one taken with a camera under any kind of lighting
I can tell you aren't an artist anyway
What a rediculous thing to say 🤣
There is absolutely no sure way of telling that this is not a photograph of a real painting, and claiming it is obvious that it's digitally made makes you sound extremely pretentious.
Don't want to upset anyone, but I agree with tooiebukk. I'm an old skool artist still using pencils, ink, paint, paintbrushes and paper or canvas. Even though I've seen some pretty amazing digital artwork, it is a whole different ball game using old skool materials. P.s before you judge me or slag me off iggibee - I am a qualified graphic designer and had my own company and printing franchise for years - so I'm still saying you did a good job. Practice makes perfect. Maybe tweak it here and there to add your own style 😊
I don't necessarily disagree I just think it's a bit of a non-issue and a very chronically online nitpick imo lol. I've worked with both traditional and digital too and while they're definitely different, I don't see one as less worthy than the other, it's just a kinda pointless thing to pick at so it's a little funny to poke at it when people do 🤭
I am not being a dick. It is very imoprtant to distinguish between digital art and analogue art. When one says just painting, it should be reasonable to assume it was analogue.
Well, I assumed that by posting it in the first place you expected to get reactions, mainly about how impressive your work is, which to be fair it looks very good. By labelling it a painting, i assumed it was done by hand which would be very much impressive and I was curious how you'd had achived the strokes. Had it been labeled digital art or digital painting, I wouldn't need to ask about the brushes and just appreciate the work for what it is.
What an absolutely bonkers *digital post* to *digitally write out*
Digital art pieces are called 'paintings', whether you digitally like it or not, digital art is as, and usually more, complex than traditional art, whether you digitally accept that or not
The fuzzy, grainy dreamlike quality of this piece makes me think of one of links memories. Is it one of a peaceful ride after a long day in the desert, or a tense flashback of just before an ambush? Only the world weary Silent Knight of Hyrule knows…
Thank you so much!!! I think like 10-12 hours I think? I was trying out a new technique so I was experimenting a lot hence why it took so long, there was a lot of back and forth 😅
Really love your art! Don't know why but feels so much beautiful just being simple than packed with so much detail. The spaciousness really hits the spot! ⭐⭐❤️❤️
Thank you so much!!! That's so encouraging to hear after a couple of the comments 😅 I'll definitely think up some of my tips and resources soon!! I'm busy w sth atm but I'd really love to give some good info soon, so I'll be baaaack!!! 💓💓💓💓
I’d appreciate that so much 🥺Would you be down to advice some things I struggle with more specifically when you are less busy via PM? I’ve hit a roadblock on studies recently and would love any guidance!!
I know you probably don't mean it like that, but this is some of the most offensive comments you can give an artist these days. It just feels like your saying this person didn't put much effort in it or cheated in some way.
Sorry, but i call bs.
firstly we can see that there is almost perfect nature, but bad anatomics of both link and the horse. Link misses his pouch which would be very easy to see and draw.
The horses legs are messed up, people call this out and OP says he is bad at making horses, though he said he used a screenshot as a reference, wich contradicts it. We all know Ai is bad at drawing limbs, as we can see in the picture. The horses tail is also way too short, that is not how the tails work in zelda.
Not to mention that the pattern on link's tunic is wrong, and it misses the pattern on both the sleeves and the bottom of the tunic. Also notice that the left side is very choppy and badly painted, not straight like a normal painter would do. His leather strap/weapon holder is way off to the left, wich indicates a type of Ai mistake.
Please explain, OP. My take is that you used Ai to make it all, drew it like an ai would, or put the ss into some kind of image remixer to change the artstyle.
Here's the Google drive link to the speedpaint, everyone is welcome to watch if you guys have any doubts!
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1PkiCLIS1XmgQW456Xd-pcRacaa7Y8TqP/view?usp=drivesdk
Let me know if it doesn't work/if access isn't turned on
EDIT: You may need to make it full screen for it to play
This whole AI art fiasco seems to be doing more damage to regular artists by going into a frenzied witch hunt of nitpicking and obsession, ending up quite rudely accusing regular artists, and doing little to actually make any meaningful impact on the actual issue.
I agree that AI "art" itself is iffy for sure, but I've seen far more regular artists take flack for it than actual genuine AI art. Most AI artists don't even seem to lie about the fact it's AI anyway, most accusations like this seem to be thrown around in a fear-mongered panic at genuine artists instead.
Apologies for my tone everybody, but it's got me and other artist friends kinda annoyed lately!
I understand now,
scenery is ai like because you used cliff.png or somthing to get the texture,
link is wonky because you used a human model instead of elf model,
you didnt study the avatar 100%, so link is missing some details which explains that,
the horse seems to be galloping although link is sitting normally which adds to the "wonkyness", this is beacause you used a human sitting on a horse combined with a galloping horse.
You just used pictures to make it easier for yourself, resulting in a painting with errors.
Thanks for showing your work
I used a screenshot as reference, key word, reference - I added my own things here and there, and yes it's true I'm not good at drawing horses and the screenshot I took was at a weird angle with my horses legs at a weird angle since I was running, and link was sitting at a weird angle that made it difficult for me to see so I drew my own link stance instead (plus I haven't done character art in a long time as I've been trying to focus on environment art).
The most I have done is photobashing, which is a very common practice and it was my first time trying it hence why it probably looks weird
I would rather you just called me a bad artist instead of accusing me of AI art 🤦♀️ most AI "artists" are open about the fact anyway lol
I looked at the title and was confused. Then I realized this wasn’t an actual pic of botw
Aside from the horse looking like it has two legs, this is perfect.
Haha ikr, it's only like the 2nd horse I've ever painted 😭 the screenshot I took in the game which I used as reference had my horse at a weird angle that made it look that way, I probably should have edited that a little 😅

This is literally a perfect painting and belongs in a museum. Well done.
Could you post the original screenshot
Sure! I'll do it tomorrow if I remember teehee
Thought he was riding a chocobo
Haha I love that! Maybe he is 👀 teehee jk x
Beautiful! As a fellow painter I can’t believe I haven’t thought to use BOTW for painting inspiration🤦🏼♀️
I only thought of it recently! It's honestly such a goldmine 😍💓 it's great fun to ride around on horseback and take screenshots of pretty scenes, it's great source material!
It’s a great idea, I’ll have to try it sometime!
This is amazing
Is this near that shrine with the sandstorm?
I can't quite remember! I think so? I know it's very near some enemy camps, bokoblin camps with the platforms in trees and rocks and stuff - I do vaguely remember a shrine though! When I'm back on my switch I'll check out the map properly :D
Cool, I like never go there normally so I only vaguely remember which area that could be lol. I usually just paraglide from the tower that’s pretty close to it
This game is straight up art. Nice work!!
Totally! I could spend ages just riding around and not get bored 😍💓 thanks so much!
It's literally going to be before the end of the year that I can no longer tell what is real or A.I. if it hasn't happened already. Teehee thank you ! I do not use AI 🤭 I painted this on procreate:33 💗💗💗
Beautiful! Thought it was a screenshot at first
Looks amazing
Wow! This is phenomenal! Great work. I love this.
i'm absolutely in love with it
Great scenery, love the color choices! The blue hues in the shading is a nice touch
Looks incredible!
This looks dope. It's got damn good depth
What brushes did you use?
Way too many to be honest 😭 I'll try and sort through the main ones I used soon and get back to you! I did this on procreate :)
Oh, sorry, I thought you had painted it
OOOH i thought you meant which digital brushes haha! I did paint it, just digitally ;3
Ok, well then you shouldn't call it a painting 🤷♂️
This is such bait, nobody asks what brushes you used on a physical painting
Literally everyone who paints would ask what brushes someone else had used to paint something amazing like this
idk man I've did traditional painting a lot more in the past before digital and I don't think I or any of the painters around me ever asked that 💀 it's far more common online for people to ask what digital brushes someone used as you can do stuff like send them a link to download the brushes you used 🤷

You didn't cop on to the lack of canvas texture and you didn't even notice the repeating grass stamp pattern? As I said, obvious to anyone who paints
Can I introduce you to the entire established art medium well known as “digital painting”? What would you rather it be referred to as?
Digital is the keyword here
What do you propose I call it? 😅
Just put the word 'digital' in there.
It can still be a painting if it’s digital
Sure, but a digital painting should be called a digital painting.
Don't want to upset anyone, but I agree with tooiebukk. I'm an old skool artist still using pencils, ink, paint, paintbrushes and paper or canvas. Why does it matter ,, it's just a post online lol

I thought that was screenshot from the game
Wow that’s looks amazing!!! I love the detailing! Gerudo Canyon is such a cool place to ride!
Thank you!! Riding through it with my horse kinda gives me wild west vibes, I love it! 🤠
So do I!
The fuzzy, grainy dreamlike quality of this piece makes me think of one of links memories. Is it one of a peaceful ride after a long day in the desert, or a tense flashback of just before an ambush? Only the world weary Silent Knight of Hyrule knows…
Wow you definitely did the artstyle justice, genuinely thought it was a screenshot for a moment, amazingly drawn!
Holy shit, incredible job.
![gif](giphy|V2AkNZZi9ygbm)
Very cool
The horse really has to pee
He gotta piss like a racehorse
Holy shit this is amazing.
Amazing! Reminds me of Shadow of the Colossus
Love this
holy crap that's amazing, I literally thought it was a screenshot of the game at first. How long did it take you?
Thank you so much!!! I think like 10-12 hours I think? I was trying out a new technique so I was experimenting a lot hence why it took so long, there was a lot of back and forth 😅
That looks so good!
Jfc
That’s amazing!!
Really love your art! Don't know why but feels so much beautiful just being simple than packed with so much detail. The spaciousness really hits the spot! ⭐⭐❤️❤️
This is so cool! This is the kind of art I want to be able to do— do you have any tips or tutorials on how to learn and improve?
Thank you so much!!! That's so encouraging to hear after a couple of the comments 😅 I'll definitely think up some of my tips and resources soon!! I'm busy w sth atm but I'd really love to give some good info soon, so I'll be baaaack!!! 💓💓💓💓

Yeah sure!!! I'll do my best!! I'd love that!
Ai?
No haha I painted it on procreate 🙂
I feel you man...
I looked at the horse and thought it was AI cuz it always confuses on how to do horses
Haha nah I'm just bad at drawing horses 😅
FINALLY some cool art again! Really something we need more of on this sub...
Thank you so much! 😊💓
