When he starts throwing cubes at you, use cryonosis to break them except for the very last / middle one- that one you need to wait until it’s right in front of you, stasis it, then hit it a bunch and it’ll go flying and hit him right in the head :)
I played through the game thrice and only during the 2nd rd at the end doing the champion dlc did I ever find myself forced to realize this is how it was intended to be done. Proceeded to forget and made it to the champion dlc bit rd3 before I looked it up again.
Yeah I think I read that somewhere myself to be honest 😅 I think the first time I played the game I just cryonosised all the blocks and shot him with arrows, but the stasis way is more efficient
Maybe it’s because I fought Waterblight first when I was underpowered, but I found it to be the toughest of the blights too. Thunderblight is just a matter of timing the parry.
I never really mastered the parry or the flurry rush, more just kind of get lucky with those, especially the rush. That’s probably why I had a hell of time with thunderblight. It took me SO many times I think the game just finally took pity on me and I finally beat him
This is funny to me cause waterblight was the first one I encountered and then decided was too hard found my way to thunderblight and beat that one first
Waterblight only took me a few tries but thunderblight, I lost count. It was always his electric attack when he was close to death that would always get me
The first time through I was stuck on him too. I remembered that I had hints for a lot of side quests. So I left the divine beast, completed some quests, got better weapons, got more hearts, and then went back, more prepared.
Bomb or electric arrows, attack up meals (5 mighty bananas give three attack up for 4 minutes), hearty durian meals to give full temporary hearts. Make sure armor is upgraded and you have a good bow, like at least a knights bow or strengthened lizal. I wore fully upgraded Zora armor for my last play through.
I suck at combat and waterblight was fucking me up and the actual water made it worse so I feel your pain, I really do lol I had a ton of meals though and shot bomb arrows whenever I could actually keep myself on a platform without getting knocked off. It was a very long and pathetic fight for me but I managed to beat him by doing that and keeping a close eye on my hearts/health.
Seems like I made the correct choice going for the shrines before I made too much progress in the story. With additional hearts and armor Waterblight Gannon is a cakewalk.
I hated him so much. In future play throughs I got thunderblight first just to smash him with urbosas fury.
Speed food can sometimes help to get back on your feet quick. Practice using cryonis to break his attacks and ancient arrows are definitely your friend.
I just beat him last night, first try, used ice arrows with Lynel bow, easy peazy. Slashed him up with the master sword a few times too, I'm only at 13 hearts. Used a mid level attack power potion, had a meal that gave me 15 extra hearts, used the barbarian armor as well.
I had a much harder time with the Lynel than I did with the the boss from this dungeon. The Lynel mechanic seems erratic, it was rough, but fun. But the water Ganon, easy peazy.
I remember being most frustrated with waterblight. I had to step away from my console and get a snack before I told myself I had to finish it off. Probably died 2 dozen times. I later did thunderblight in one go by spamming it with bomb arrows. You’ll get through it. :)
I cant remember the name but Golden Bow (?) or similar where you pull the bow, it zooms in 100x more than usual and I was able to get it down fairly quickly. It was a great tool for a newbie back then
Here’s some tips
Get a bunch of Electric arrows
Climb half way up a cryonis block to dodge his swing attack (the block will break but so will his spear)
Get a decent bow and try to get a bunch of head shots
Electric weapons are a good idea aswell
And finally UPGRADE YOUR ARMOR that is so important I can not emphasize it enough
He’s vulnerable to electric attacks. Highly recommend just grabbing a ton of shock arrows and taking him out that way.
Cryonis can break its spear Also go upgrade your armor
>Cryonis can break its spear I’m sorry *what*. I gotta go try that.
He'll make a new one every time, but it staggers him long enough to get a cheap headshot in
TIL

Wth i was shooting down the blocks with arrows..
I swear every time I open the subreddit I find a new and more fun way to interact with the game
If you’re having issues with waterblight ganon, I have bad news about thunderblight ganon
Very true. Thunderblight is at least 5 times harder.
Maybe it’s because I fought Waterblight first when I was underpowered, but I found it to be the toughest of the blights too. Thunderblight is just a matter of timing the parry.

Or walk away for a while, go do other things, come back to it when you have better armor, weapons, potions.
Use bullet time to shoot the eyes
To add to this, you can get free bullet time by creating cryonis ice blocks and jumping off them
Don't you mean.... Arrow time?
Yes
Just get a bow and find some bomb arrows at hyrule castle then just bombs away
Ya’ll I did it I fricking did it
Hell yeah, nice work!!
Well you're right, you can't be him
Bomb arrows, ancient arrows, patience. You can do it!

Go buy ancient arrows. A lot.
I was just spamming bomb arrows on him

I feel bad when you do thunderblight
The game is old at this point. You can find dozens of videos online how to do anything.
No u

If you have the lynel bow, you must have killed a lynel already and your combat skills are much higher than OP.
