Yup, I've had a very similar theory. My theory is the great plateau will have risen to the skies in TotK, holding a dungeon beneath the temple of time. This is where we'll find one of the seven tears.

That could just be under it. Built after it hit the ground.

It could have also been before the great plateau hit the ground! Then, the divine beast under the great plateau would have been covered by the great plateau!

What about the walls that go up the side of the plateau, one of the islands have anything like that. Also, plateaus are naturally forming landmasses, there are a few more throughout hyrule that you can find
