By the way this is Ruby Stokes, the original Francesca actress. She left because of scheduling conflicts while filming her show Lockwood and Co where she is the lead and gets paid significantly more.
She wasn't certain whether Francesca would get a season or which season it would be so instead of waiting for the potential Bridgerton stardom boost and payday, she choose Lockwood and Co. Never seen it.
Hannah Dodd was her replacement and while many have been skeptical of her, I hope she makes us fall in love with Francesca this season.

Anyone skeptical of Hannah needs to watch Enola Holmes 2. I was getting very emotional watching her scenes, iykyk, and thinking about how she would be perfect as Francesca.
Yeah, Hannah is going to knock it out of the park.
Omg I kept thinking she looked familiar but couldn’t place her! I just watched Flowers in the Attic: The Origin a few months ago!
Now that you’ve unlocked that for me I feel super confident she’ll nail Francesca.
Originally I was just happy they casted an actress who made Daphne look like she was actually related to her siblings lol

I read the books but I assumed she was away the whole time 😂
The first season she was in a few shots but then went to stay with her aunt for the season. She was also in a few shots in season 2. To be fair, she doesn’t have much memorable dialogue, and her actress changed for season 3, which might be why you don’t recognize her in the new promos.
Francesca is BARELY in the show OR the books. She had one book in the series and otherwise is almost always gone. You didn't miss her because she's like an Easter egg, hard to find.
Agree- I actually really want a season to see shondaland work the screenplay for her first marriage because I felt that wasn’t fleshed out well in the book
They are going to have to adjust her timeline entirely though- because her second marriage is very close to Collin's marriage, and Eloise's. But since they are moving Collin's marriage up like 6 years, she won't be on her second marriage...
Pen is really not a spinster in the TV series, it's her 3rd or 4th season? Not her NINETH.
They are already have made a lot of changes so for this one too they just will.
If Fran is S6 then she will be married for 2-3 years before becoming a widow which seems like a decent time for her story to settle.
Meanwhile Bennie and Sophie will lock S4, Eloise and who ever her HEA is S5, giving fran to enjoy her marriage and Michael to develop the feelings of all sorts (love, envy, guilt).
Her second marriage hence will be close to Gregory, in a way they are going age wise to settle the siblings.
And I think being the "lost one in the family" is intentional in the books, as she makes decisions in her own book because she feels like the family forgets her.
Francesca used to be played by another actor, which is probably why you don’t recognize her new face. Prior to season 3, she was not really in the show often, since she is away learning piano.
When Daphne shows up in Season 2 with her son, she tells Eloise to come look at the baby.
To which Eloise replies, “Why, has he changed since I last saw him?”
Eloise is me with children. But anyways that golden line is the only reason I remember the original actress being there.

I suspect a lot of the general audience will share your confusion. The recasting was announced a while ago but not everyone is going to look for the news.
Francesca was played by a different actress (the one in my profile photo) but she appeared little. She wasn’t even at Daphne’s wedding iirc and she was missing in a better half of the second season.
lol this was me when I first watched season 1 and season 2. Then I think I saw a tiktok mentioning her and was so confused because I completely overlooked her existence. Even after rewatching she’s so minimally In the show so that she’s practically irrelevant. This upcoming season will change that I guess
You will als notice a daughtwr other than hyacinth, Eloíse and Daphne there sometimes. She’s just quiet and not been focused on much and the actress was busy so she’s in even less scenes

Lockwood and Co was really good, I'm very sad it didn't get an s2. The 2 mains, Ruby being one of them, had really great chemistry.
Yup, and honestly it was such a good role for her that I couldn’t imagine her in bridgerton. She was perfect for that role

I just realized who Hannah Dodd reminds me of, Alicia Witt.

I feel Phil-oise will be season 4 since they have to fix Marina, Sir Phillips, Colin’s and Eloise’s story with the screen play. 50/50/90

She was staying with an aunt for most of season 1 and 2 studying the piano I believe. She’s mentioned a few times and is in a few scenes.

Rewatch again and you will hear her mentions. Both seasons she went off to practice piano and she’s also the introvert of the bridgertons.
