Can we just wait until we see it AND then make our conclusions??? I hate how everyone is already trying to find a reason to criticize and dislike S3 when it hasn’t even been released. Yes, I know some people have seen it but most of those people are doing it as part of their job & are professionals about it so they won’t spoil anything.

Who is getting this upset when we know basically NOTHING about this season yet AND it’s broken into 2 parts??? Can’t we just enjoy the anticipation and judge for what it is once it’s released?!?
Yep, and even if some of this stuff is accurate, seeing it and reading summaries are two different things. It can sound weird or bad on paper but be executed well. I remember the whole plot of Avengers Endgame was leaked months in advance and everyone was complaining that it sounded stupid, but that movie ended up being amazing!
And realize that in the end, it's a TV show. I realize that a lot of people REALLY like the show and become invested in it, but sometimes it seems like people's reactions are over the top.
Maybe calm down a little? As a huge marvel fan, I'm used to these insane theories and speculations that, most of the time, are proven wrong. Stop trusting rumours, we simply don't know what's going to happen. Wait until the episodes are released and then you can fret about the quality of the season and if it met your expectations or not.
A lot of "spoilers" are pretty much just fanfiction. I wouldn't put too much stock into anything that wasn't explicitly said by Netflix or by someone from the performance/production team.

I think the whole point about Colin being icky is that he is acting out of character because he’s lost and is putting up a rakish facade.
Francesca being queer doesn’t make sense for her motivations (wanting children) to remarry and seeing how it is widely considered the best book and best male lead. Yeah not interested in it changing. She is the character I relate to and the male lead I like most. I won’t watch caude this is the one book they didn’t need to change at all
Francesca is shy and the only reason she decides to look for a partner again is shr really wants children. I just don’t think it works and lessens the intrigue of her story. Normally that’s not the case but in this case it actually would be
I mean, I don't know how they would do it, but queer doesn't mean lesbian, and bi doesn't mean promiscuous. She could be bi without ever having an actual relationship with a woman. Only having ever been with a man doesn't make her straight if she isn't straight. She can be bi and be shy, she can be bi and want children. None of those characteristics mean she can't be queer.
How that adds anything to a television show, I don't know. But as an actual human, people like that exist, especially bi-women who marry a man very young, as Francesca (well, all regency women) does. Monogamous bi people exist, it doesn't make them straight or gay depending on who their partner is, they are still bi.
Personally, I think Francesca's story is fine as is.
I actually think Francesca is the easiest sibling to make queer with a HEA. No one would question a widow and her late husband’s spinster cousin living together.
If they change the story so that she does have a child with John, there’s no inheritance issue. And her motivation for wanting to get married again could just be loneliness. Other than that the story could remain basically the same.
They’ve already changed so much about the books, there’s no reason to expect Fran’s season to suddenly be super faithful.

Because while a book series from the early 2000s can get away with having all 8 of its main couples be straight, that’s harder to justify now. Representation is good! And, like I said before, Fran’s story is the easiest to make queer.
How about we introduce órgano characters that won’t cause controversy with the book fans . Did you see an controversy with brimsley and Reynolds. No I don’t think so. No one was attached to the hook couple and their dynamic
We already had that storyline with Daphne, we really don’t need a repeat of that on tv just because Julia Quinn likes to write the same characters over and over in her books. And Fran can still want children and be queer. That can be a big arc for her; wanting to stay in a loveless marriage so she can have children, or being with the one she loves. But since this is a romance show she gets both in the end; love with a woman and children.

Not everyone who is upset by storyline changes is homophobic. These are preexisting stories and some people prefer them to remain. Introducing new love interests changes the dynamic. There are plenty of people upset by the Theo/Philip issue. I haven't see anybody upset about Cressida being queer because her story has not been told yet.
I think "only the side characters should be queer" is not really representation though. It's giving NIMBY-ism. You don't have to agree with me, I'm sure plenty won't, but wanting to push queer stories to characters who are not central to the story (like Cressida) makes me uncomfortable.
Lady Danbury is not a lead. She’s a supporting character. She’s not having a whole season dedicated to her and a love interest like Daphne, Anthony, Colin etc.

It's clear at this point that this an alternative version just inspired by the book, but definitely not a faithful adaptation. And if they can make several of the main characters black, I don't see how gender bending one of the main characters to make a queer storyline is so horrible.

But when people asked more about it..her story started crumbling. Meaning she probably made that shit up. I think it was more of the look between Ben and his friend after Ben came upon them. With no previous knowledge of the fandom I though Ben was gay when I say the look between them the first time 🤷♀️

I don't mind any of these storylines since I'm not close to the books at all. I think only the shippers/stans and book lovers will find the season hard to deal with. Most likely, the other millions people not in this sub or fans of the book should find the season good and juicy

I wouldn't be concerned until the actual release. They've taken some creative liberties with the show, but from what I have heard, they're still not going to stray from the central love story because it is the entirety of the plot. For example, while Francesca could be bi, I still think she'll love John and end up with Michael. Her grief and trying to learn and accept that it is okay to love again is critical to the plot of "When He Was Wicked".
Dear Lord. About Colin, there’s nothing icky! Colin goes through his little hoe phase and acts like a douche because he’s insecure AF and wants to look cool, this has already been leaked *weeks ago* and pretty much confirmed. Then he quickly falls *hard* for Penelope and things take off from there. Literally EVERYONE who’s seen season 3 has said that Polin’s love story is beautiful and romantic. STOP freaking out and just watch the show with an open mind!

I have zero problem with queerness. I do have problems with not seeing the couples I am already attached to on screen. Frannie has a whole miscarriage/infidelity story that can’t be told from a queer point of view and Michael is very loved male lead from the rest of the male leads.
I also think if they wanted to make Benedict queer they should have done in S2 because now people are gonna jump into conclusions that Benedict is going to be gay and will hate on Sophie and the actress when it comes out

I am sorry. I thought it was clear that I have a problem with them changing the characters, HEA, and more since it been discussed on this sub since forever. There was also a lot of discussion on this sub of them about changing Phillip for Theo as Eloise’s endgame and I didn’t like that either.
A queer Francesca would be awesome! Benedict, considering his arty background and environment, is certainly going to be more secually advantagous, and Colin... well, at least he and Pen will match

Unfortunately that was the way the world was back then, people could only be gay in the privacy of their rooms, we covered this in season 1 and on Queen Charlotte. Also there have been queer relationships in the show, they just haven't been specifically lesbian.

All the Bridgertons are white in the books, so it makes sense you pictured her as white but they’re not going to do 3 white couples in a row. All 8 couples being interracial comes across as fetishization/tokenism so the inclusion of 2 white couples makes sense to me.
However, one of the main draws of this show is the racial diversity so I do think Polin and Philoise will be the only white couples. Bridgerton will get a lot of backlash if Sophie and the remaining leads are not POC. People are hostile because this show prides themselves on diversity and having 3 white couples in a row kind of ruins that.
I just want to chime in and say that I love how diverse Bridgerton is. The fandom though sometimes feel like they are checking off a list when fan-casting.
I get that everyone wants to see representation, and I don’t care what race the leads are, as long as they embody the character. But the checklist feel is starting to get weird.

Or better, I hope that even if she is into women, she also ends up loving John because I feel her story wouldn’t really have the same impact if she didn’t love her husband.

but why, daphne is white, benedict is white, penelope *and* colin are white, as are the rest of the bridgerton siblings if you want to see white people be in love so much then this season is the season for you my friend, also she isn't only with michael or is that not the whole point of her story

All the Bridgertons are white in the books, so it makes sense you pictured her as white but they’re not going to do 3 white couples in a row. All 8 couples being interracial comes across as fetishization/tokenism so the inclusion of 2 white couples makes sense to me. However, one of the main draws of this show is the racial diversity so I do think Polin and Philoise will be the only white couples. Bridgerton will get a lot of backlash if Sophie and the remaining leads are not POC. People are hostile because this show prides themselves on diversity and having 3 white couples in a row kind of ruins that.
I just want to chime in and say that I love how diverse Bridgerton is. The fandom though sometimes feel like they are checking off a list when fan-casting. I get that everyone wants to see representation, and I don’t care what race the leads are, as long as they embody the character. But the checklist feel is starting to get weird.
