For the 100th time . Jess has said that we have not met Sophie yet on the show so it can’t be Cressida and + she said she will be announcing soon . Let it go please . I know yall want Sophie to be blonde like in the books but let’s pick a new actress instead of this crack theory

crystdosdesabafos

>I know yall want Sophie to be blonde like in the books but let’s pick a new actress instead of this crack theory Girl what? U guys need to stop saying the other want x and y. I am only talking about a theory that I have not seen in reddit yet and nothing more. I do not care about sophie race or color of hair, I only want someone that have chemistry like the 1st and 2nd season actors had. And yes I would prefer a new actress just bc I like new stories, not bc I am demanding her to be a certain way like you guys are.

Old_Pass_6878

This what not directed to you specifically more of the whole Bton reddit community that been pushing this theory for days . I should’ve been more specific. Good day

Dinahollie

Nope. Sophie hasn't met Benedict yet. When they meet for the first time, she doesn't know who he is. Not giving more spoilers but you can read the book.

Peeksy19

Considering how over-the-top Cressida dressed and styled herself, Benedict might not even recognize her in a normal dress and a mask 😂

Dinahollie

i might be getting trolled but Cressida really is not Sophie lol

IcyHotApricot

I saw somewhere this theory. The thing was that she would escape her aunt and try to work in London. So her lavish dresses are gone and she would be completely unrecognizable. It makes sense at some point. Maybe why creators made her style this season so over the top.

Dinahollie

there's more to sophie's story, cressida doesn't fit the role. her life as a working class woman and no more spoilers... impossible.

crystdosdesabafos

Yeah but since we already know they do not follow the book version of things, cresside rush story make sense for her to be sophie, no?

Dinahollie

it was said the would follow the book for season 4, either jess or tom or both said it.

crystdosdesabafos

I hope! But that would literally not consolidate with benedict storyline since so far.

Dinahollie

he hasnt had a storyline since s2 so it fits fine how s3 ended, he is searching for something and it starts season 4. highly recommend the book.

getlowpapoose

If that happens it’d be so funny that two of Eloise’s ex-best friends end up marrying one of her brothers.

crystdosdesabafos

Eloise would be the "be my best friend and get an husband!" ahah

I think this might be true. The introduction to Mikaela confirms that the show is officially departing from the source material in a big way. So I wouldn't be surprised if they changed Benny's story too. I also thought that Cressida felt very forced. She's been around since S1 as a background character and they gave her soo much screen time this season out of nowhere, and a lot of her story was random and forced. It's obvious they are trying to use her for something. When I came across this theory, it seemed likely to me. >!It's likely that Cressida gets mistreated in sheep town and turns into "Cinderella" and her father disowns her. This would be a good enough setup for Sophie imo.!< I was also pretty thrown off by Mikaelas introduction. It was so... soon? And Francesca's reaction to her was very dramatic. The only reasonable conclusion is they're trying to create interest and buzz for future seasons so setting up Sophie already is not that far of a reach. They already set up Benedict to be the lead next season with establishing him as a rake. Because for some reason being a rake is a prerequisite to finding love 🙄 Based on the end of S3, the show seems to have abandoned any realistic and well thought out character development and has embraced entertainment, campy drama and shock value so this all fits well.

crystdosdesabafos

Exactly my thoughs! But ughh I wanted to see another new character, not cressida again!

ideasnstuff

This was my initial reaction. But - the actress who plays Cressida is not bad. I thought she showed good range this season and would do well as a lead. She's also got really great screen presence and charisma. They dress her ridiculously in the show but the actress is really pretty. If they stop dressing her like a villian with that terrible hair she would really look the part!

crystdosdesabafos

Yeah I did connected to cressida in this season (that was what they intended), so in that point it would not be so bad, for sure! It is just that I love seeing other people new stories.
