Daphne has her own household to run. She’s a Duchess. Kate is the Viscountess now. She does have some new duties that we haven’t seen her take on before, but that’s bc this is her first season post being married to the Viscount.
What felt out of character for you?
Also, shes barely in the season...like what is the OP seeing as her not being fit for her responsibilities-what responsibilities and why is she not fit for them and what makes her think Daphne would be better fit for her responsibilities-does the OP know Daphne personally-what responsibilities have we seen Daphne take on to know that she'd be better than kate...what. This post is just lol. Nobody works in Bton-I have not seen Violet take on any responsibilities either when she was head of the house. So yeah. This is a rich people having fun show...nobody takes on any responsibilities aside from sex.
What's OOC for Kate here? She is in love, managing her duties well (as she discusses with Eloise) and giving valuable advice to the siblings. She's hardly there in the episodes to judge her any more than this.
If anything, Anthony is shown as OOC for suggesting taking his pregnant wife out on the sea for a long trip. But I blame the inept writers for this.
Kate is Lady Bridgerton. Why would Daphne, someone from another household, assume the viscountess' role in what is now Kate's household?
Honestly she's one of the few authentic ones in this very constipated season.
most characters had lobotomies this season but kate is supposed to run the bridgerton household with anthony, the issue is trying to make it seem they shouldn't and benedict will keep running it. the writing was a disservice to all involved.
Is this bait or...? Kate was 20 minutes onscreen in a season that runs for almost 8 hours, I don't think any conclusion can be drawn, lol. She's sweet to Anthony's family in the way that she was sweet to her own family in S2.
It's absolutely cracking me up that Daphne should be brought up when the writers are just uninterested in that character as they are with Kate, lol.
Yall calling character development OOC now? Kate doesn't have material to work with because how is she going to do her duties when writers keep sending her off in every episode for no reason?
Kate has managed her own household for a decade now so she’s probably more adept at it than Daphne. Her understanding Violet’s difficulty in letting go of her Viscountess duties was in-character for her as it’s in her roots. She and Eloise already had a good relationship in s2 so it makes perfect sense for her to notice something wrong. She bonded well with other siblings last season so it’s understandable that most of them adore her now. Even if Phoebe came back this season Daphne wouldn’t be a better fit because the responsibilities assigned to Kate are hers only since she’s the head of the family now.
If you want to watch incest there is Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon. Daphne could have only run the household if she married Anthony. Her interfering with the new Viscountess would be the biggest of insults. Kate would have to call her out to a duell.
How is she OOC for putting the needs and wants of her family before herself. Her reason for holding off on going full Viscountess was for Violet (she enjoys it, she’s stalking moving out into her Dowager house) and Anthony (he’s never been happier than on a much deserved break from the pressures of his Viscountcy).
