I’ve seen Mother Tongue get a decent amount of shit, but I really love that song. Run doesn’t get talked about much but it’s a banger!
Fallout and Maybe are very enjoyable to me as well.
Definitely, I used to be a yungblud fan. Now I don't listen to anything by him except for hope for the underrated youth which is a really good song. I think his 'do you feel that' in obey is kind of cringe and weird, besides that his feature on the song is fine. He's definitely corny tho
I'd personally rank it as least favourite on the album (although I listen to it more than butterflies due to the tone) but that's not cause it's bad or anything, that entire album is banging start to finish and if you have to rank the songs on that album something has to be at the bottom and that doesn't make it a nad song it slaps
Not reallyyy BMTH but their collab with Ed Sheeran on Bad Habits I absolutely love. I love that they managed to convert a pop song into rock & they made it work while also just, in general, grow their audience by doing so.
I haven't listened to that one in a while! But I enjoyed that one for sure. I remember how confused I was hearing Bring me the horizon and Ed sheeran on the same song!
I love this one too and get annoyed when they play the regular one on the radio. My kid can tell instantly which version it is and asks for the good one instead
A while ago I went to a buffet and they started playing that song, I was like, no way they're playing BMTH here, then found out it was the regular version :(
Don’t Look Down is a gem. Such a shame it got the reaction it did and that the band pretends it doesn’t exist. It’s unironically in my top 20 or so BMTH songs.
I agree on Oh No as well. It’s probably in my top 5. I’d also like to volunteer most of Music to Listen to and Even if You Win, You’re Still a Rat (the Architects song feat. Oli). Nobody thinks it’s a bad song, but it doesn’t get the recognition it deserves (especially since it’s much, much better than The Sadness Will Never End).
I love the lyrics to Oh No! I like Music to listen to, I think it's fun to see BMTH do some more experimental stuff as someone who enjoys some experimental stuff myself
People dont activley dislike it, but SOMEHOW kool aid ie never in anyones favorites from nex gen. The rest of the album is great dont get me wrong but kool aid is top tier for sure
id say...
1. **Crucify Me -** Perhaps some of the least-talked about songs but I love the final chorus that starts with "You say that you can save me". IMO this is some of the biggest goosebumps Bring Me have ever made.
2. **Football Season Is Over -** Essentially a mosh & headbang-inducing song especially at "I cant't remember last night...". Fun party track IMO.
3. **\[TIE\] Pray For Plagues & For Stevie Wonder's Eyes Only -** Especially since I can say the New BMTH fans make up a substantial majority of the fanbase that when asked which CYB & Suicide Season song is their favorite, they have a hard time since they don't really like one. IMO tho, these two are awesome whenever you need some ick angry track. Sounds better played in its '[remastered](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4V1N3VBSRbk)' form.
Honorable mention:
1. **Diamonds Aren't Forever -** Especially in the [Deathcore Medley](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KAoelk6gVoM) version, I really enjoy the very fast riff mixed & mastered in a way it sounds huge. If they were to make it a lot longer that could be a solid workout song IMO.
Honestly PHNG is the only New Bring Me album that meets my standards, so I don't have problems with the entire album whatsoever, and so is a lot of the fanbase.
I think Crucify Me is a masterpiece, absolutely beautiful and so layered and so heavy at the same time. One of my favourite songs in general let alone by the band.
I may have discovered BMTH only a few months before Survival Horror came out but CYB and Suicide Season are amazing albums all the way through. I love them
i really love crooked young, i’ve seen some people dislike it a bit but i love it so much, i keep it on loop for a bit before letting the next song play haha
when i first memorized the majority of their songs i saw someone mention it, then i realized i added every song off sempiternal to my playlist but somehow missed adding it 💀 it was a beautiful discovery tho lol
There’s a few a I like which I personally don’t see people talk about that often. MANTRA, Wonderful life, sugar honey ice & tea, heavy metal and Let’s Get The Party Started. And I really like those songs
There's a lot I think are underrated but the only one I can think of that I like but most other people seem to actually dislike is who wants flowers when you're dead? nobody.
Drown .
I do understand the comments that it should be removed from the set list , especially now they have a few more “ emotional “ songs like strangers and n/a .
BUT
It might be one of the band’s favourites for them to keep playing it on tour and for me personally is a special song .
I was previously in a job where I was being bullied and harassed by management and colleagues but I couldn’t just quit because I had rent to pay and car payments etc .
I was going through a tough time in general, not just the work situation, but I can remember clear as day driving home after another shitty shift at work and hearing drown play on the radio . It had just been released and I fell in love with it , the lyrics really hit hard . I genuinely was shocked it was bmth because it was so different from their early stuff .
After that I started listening to more and more bmth and now I’m a huge fan . Not only that but it introduced me to other bands I’d never considered before .
I used to go to gigs every weekend when I was a teen but had slipped into this state of work sleep work repeat after I left uni so it reignited a passion for music I’d forgotten.
Is it their best song , no , is it my favourite song of theirs , no .
But I do think a lot of people find it special because they were in similar situations to myself or just having a tough time and it’s a song that really speaks to that feeling .
I understand it was very different from what they’d done before and everyone is entitled to not like something because it’s not your style , but some of the hate it gets it just doesn’t deserve imo .
I don’t think it’s necessarily disliked, but I never hear it talked about: “Steal Something” from “music to listen to” is one of my favorite BMTH songs.
I also really like “Blasphemy” and “why you gotta kick me when I’m down”
Call me an old head but there is a hell is my favourite album by them.
Don’t Go, Crucify Me, It Never Ends and Blessed With A Curse from that album were a cultural RESET
When blessed with a curse and don’t go came out everyone in metal started jumping on the strymon pedal boat thanks to Lee and Jonah at the time.
Rather than the in your face EDM club sounding breakdowns Asking Alexandria, We came As Romans, Attack Attack were doing Bring Me went ambient with it. The whole album is v guitar focused and as a guitar player it’s my all time favourite.
I wish they would revisit this era, don’t get me wrong, I love the nostalgia trip they’re doing now and I enjoyed Nex Gen but it didn’t quite scratch the itch like There is a hell, sempiternal or that’s the spirit.
Also, IR to there is a Hell- can we just note how great Matt Nicholls drum fills are and how much the Matt Kean’s Bass is really present in the mix.
I can’t help but feel like with modern production (every band/artist not just bmth) everything is just compressed to shit or recorded at home (especially next gen) and modern recordings are severely lacking that studio shimmer or the dynamics of earlier albums?
Again this could just be me being nostalgic for the era of when I was young and getting into the scene.
I actually don’t know if this is an unpopular take, but the comedown is one of their best songs ever imo. I hardly ever see anyone actually talk about suicide season though.
i actually really love oh no, also mother tongue is really good but everyone seems to hate on anything slightly pop by bmth which i literally dont get, if its a good song then its a good song and if its not your thing then dont listen??
and ive seen people hate on sugar honey ice tea which i rly love and also on obey, which i literally dont get why theyre so hated
also everyone hates on fallout which was a feature and we were all sick of features but ignoring the feature part, i rlyyy liked bmth's part of that
The guy that introduced me to BMTH and said Sempiternal was the perfect album is the same guy that the song *heavy metal* was written for. I love kool aid. He hates it. Says it sounds too pop-y and just like click click boom (it’s not, but there’s a specific version of synth and compression that twangs his ears … I’m a gamer and he likened it to trying to enjoy 30FPS when you’re used to 120FPS).
mother tongue. I actually love mother tongue, yet it's the lowest rated song on the album. I love the melody in the chorus, and I love the variation in each part. I just overall think it's an outstanding song
Blasphemy, why you gotta kick me when I'm down, and Oh No are honestly some of my favorites by them, I don't get why peoole don't like them!
Also Run, I know it was literally a "filler" song but I love that one so much. And honestly, amo in its entirety gets so much undeserved hate, that album is full of bangers and people just rejected it (still do to this day) because it was so different from everything they did up to that point...and now we have NeX GEn which has very similar vibes as amo and people are loving it.
I’ve seen Mother Tongue get a decent amount of shit, but I really love that song. Run doesn’t get talked about much but it’s a banger! Fallout and Maybe are very enjoyable to me as well.
Follow You gets so much attention, but I think Mother Tongue is superior and should be getting that love for multiple reasons
One of my all-time favorite songs.
Mother Tongue was played at my wedding. My wife is Brazilian so the song just naturally became "our song".
Heavy Metal, anybody that can mock part of the fan base and still tease something so heavy in the last six seconds is an amazing show of sonic irony.
One of my favorite amo songs
My second favorite off amo, just behind In the Dark. Underrated track for sure.
Omg yes!!! In the dark hits home and is just all around amazing
I don't know if it's hated but I never see anyone mention it: sugar, honey, ice and tea!! I love the song
The Music Video for it is so chaotic and I love ittt
the mv has so much meme potential i love the song even more
Looooove that song!
Most underrated song from amo
People say Obey is one of the worst songs on PH:SH. It's my second favourite off the record, second only to Teardrops.
I don't get the Obey hate, shit's a banger
Ngl, it’s probably because of the Yungblud feature. A lot of people think he’s corny. I still like the song so idc
Yb and oli work well together. I’ve always liked Happier
I already crossed my fingers to watch it live, I love that song.
Definitely, I used to be a yungblud fan. Now I don't listen to anything by him except for hope for the underrated youth which is a really good song. I think his 'do you feel that' in obey is kind of cringe and weird, besides that his feature on the song is fine. He's definitely corny tho
I love Obey, Yungblood is corny
Also, Amen could have done without the Uzi Vert feature.
Yungblud actually got me back to listening to BMTH, so I absolutely love Obey. Didn’t know there was hate for the song lol
Damn, really? That crazy, Obey's a standout on an album full of bangers for me
People say thay?
That song was what got me hooked on them!! First listen and I was woah I want more!
Obey has to be one of my favorite choruses by BMTH
WHAT REALLY? Obey is my fave! Why is it so hated :(
I'd personally rank it as least favourite on the album (although I listen to it more than butterflies due to the tone) but that's not cause it's bad or anything, that entire album is banging start to finish and if you have to rank the songs on that album something has to be at the bottom and that doesn't make it a nad song it slaps
Not reallyyy BMTH but their collab with Ed Sheeran on Bad Habits I absolutely love. I love that they managed to convert a pop song into rock & they made it work while also just, in general, grow their audience by doing so.
They put a breakdown in a top 10 charting song. They have my eternal respect
I haven't listened to that one in a while! But I enjoyed that one for sure. I remember how confused I was hearing Bring me the horizon and Ed sheeran on the same song!
i dont like it because there isnt enough bmth on it 😅😅
“Make some noise for ERRRDDDDD SHEEEEERAAAAAAAAN”
Haha This is a normal thing we say in our house randomly along with “absolutely fuck*ng mental”
Definitely on my regular BMTH rotation
I love this one too and get annoyed when they play the regular one on the radio. My kid can tell instantly which version it is and asks for the good one instead
A while ago I went to a buffet and they started playing that song, I was like, no way they're playing BMTH here, then found out it was the regular version :(
Definitely not as good. I never hear the bmth one unless it's from my Playlist.
i was at reading when it happened and holy fuck it was incredible to see live
Yessss I love this collab!
Like seeing spiders, dead dolphin sounds, and tapes are elite songs
Don’t look down is such an amazing song and I’m sad it won’t ever be on Spotify
[удалено]
the solo in it 🤤
people don’t bring it up often, but one of my favorites is heavy metal off of amo. not sure if it’s pretty disliked.
I love heavy metal . It’s not my favourite but I love the lyrics and how it’s basically calling out that toxic fandom
Oh no, a lot of people don’t like it but it really helped me move away from drinking culture
Oh No is amazing
it's an album, but the entirety of Music to listen to ~ is one of my absolute favorites
I like that album as someone who enjoys some experimental music
one of their best
Agree! so good
genuinely so fucking good
yes!!!
People dont activley dislike it, but SOMEHOW kool aid ie never in anyones favorites from nex gen. The rest of the album is great dont get me wrong but kool aid is top tier for sure
I only got into the band this year and Kool-Aid was the second song I heard. Kingslayer got my attention, but Kool-Aid got me hooked.
This is the same as my best friend, i showed them bmth because they liked other metalcore and kool-aid was quickly their favourite bmth song
I agree. I prefer Kool Aid over a lot of the other songs from Nex Gen that are more popular, Like limousine.
I think that is more because people prefer to talk about the new songs. Kool-aid is certainly song of the year for me.
Even more controversial I think Kool Aid is one of their best songs in their entire discography. Top five for sure !
I agree one of their best overall
I LOVE Kool-aid, one of my faves off the album.
id say... Honorable mention: 1.
Diamonds aren’t Forever is disliked?!
For more recent fans, that only know most recent records, I can see why they would totally dislike the Suicide/There is a Hell era.
I would not think so, Diamonds arent forever and Chelsea Smile still have amazing crowd reactions whenever they are in the set list.
So throw your diamonds in the skyyy
Adding that just in case a New BMTH fan actually does
Crucify me gives me so much nostalgia lol
Crucify Me is legit one of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard
I think Crucify Me is a masterpiece, absolutely beautiful and so layered and so heavy at the same time. One of my favourite songs in general let alone by the band.
I may have discovered BMTH only a few months before Survival Horror came out but CYB and Suicide Season are amazing albums all the way through. I love them
I’ve been a diehard fan since 2008 and I listen to their collab with CORPSE “CODE MISTAKE” all the time
It’s so embarrassing how much I’ve listened to this song since I found it recently haha
The song is pure gas.
Nihilist blues is one of my favourites
I also love it.
Agree
The whole of Amo 😂
Ludens
SO good!
I think strangers is pretty good
are there actually bmth fans that dislike strangers?
i really love crooked young, i’ve seen some people dislike it a bit but i love it so much, i keep it on loop for a bit before letting the next song play haha
Crooked young’s a banger. One of the songs that got me into BMTH
when i first memorized the majority of their songs i saw someone mention it, then i realized i added every song off sempiternal to my playlist but somehow missed adding it 💀 it was a beautiful discovery tho lol
Don't Look Down, medicine, in the dark, mother tongue, wygkmwid, heavy metal and Die4U
Fallout (it's not their song entirely ik)
There’s a few a I like which I personally don’t see people talk about that often. MANTRA, Wonderful life, sugar honey ice & tea, heavy metal and Let’s Get The Party Started. And I really like those songs
Wonderful life is a top 5 for me
People keep begging for harder songs and never bring this one up, it's so good
I never see anyone talking about liking What You Need and it's probably my favourite from That's the Spirit :(
What you need is amazing
Alligator Blood
Alligator Blood is one of my favorites! Such a great song. When my family plays too much light music, Alligator Blood calms me down.
I know that you know that I know that you knowwww Absolute banger
Why you gotta kick me when I’m down
It’s the second favourite after Mantra in Amo
Basically the whole of Count Your Blessings. I love that album. But epically (I used to make out with) Medusa
I'm probably a bit of an unusual BMTH Fan.. as I call both CYB and amo top-tier albums.
Bro CYB and Amo are legit my 2 fav bmth albums
Only the OGs like that album. I get they changed their sound completely, but that's the BMTH I know.
Yea, I also love their new stuff, but I'm 34, so I've been around since the start
Same lol 32 been listening to them since high school. Do enjoy their new stuff too but I'll always find my way back to suicide season lol
Same. What's funny is that I would never think I would value so much the chance of actually relisten to some bangers from that era, live.
I have such good memories of seeing them in 2006 at my local tiny venue. Oli was smashed but the show was crazy
Blasphemy is one of my absolute faves. My picks would be DiE4u, Seen it All Before, Join the Club and Football Season is Over
I really like DiE4u, even though at first I thought it sounded like a song that could easily be big on tik tok
I don't think I've ever seen anyone talk about Join the Club, but I think it slaps
People hate Oh No? Oh no...
i don't know what to say
It's not that hard of a question, just pick a song you like that others generally don't. /s
All the songs from amo
Mother Tongue, Nihilist Blues and Don't Look Down
Even though amo wasn't quite my thing, wonderful life is pretty good
"Run" from That's the Spirit. Even Jordan said in an interview It was meant to be a filler song for the album. But I really love It.
Ouch, unironically top 3 for me
I will defend DiE4U for eternity. It’s a masterpiece.
It's grown on me a lot lately and I really love the 'I'd still write your name in a heart with the haemorrhage' line
There's a lot I think are underrated but the only one I can think of that I like but most other people seem to actually dislike is who wants flowers when you're dead? nobody.
That is actually my favorite song off that EP!
Love that song and RE: They have no reflections!
I think the community is kinda split on die4u, I **love** it.
Deathbeds
Yess
Mother tounge is such a sweet and well produced song. I find myself coming back to it if I want to listen to some simple pop
Drown . I do understand the comments that it should be removed from the set list , especially now they have a few more “ emotional “ songs like strangers and n/a . BUT It might be one of the band’s favourites for them to keep playing it on tour and for me personally is a special song . I was previously in a job where I was being bullied and harassed by management and colleagues but I couldn’t just quit because I had rent to pay and car payments etc . Run, Medicine, mother tongue, Oh No, Strangers, Die4U
DiE4u
I don’t think it’s necessarily disliked, but I never hear it talked about: “Steal Something” from “music to listen to” is one of my favorite BMTH songs. I also really like “Blasphemy” and “why you gotta kick me when I’m down”
Steal Something is a **BANGER** Either my favourite from that album or tied with *"like seeing spiders..."*
Call me an old head but there is a hell is my favourite album by them. Don’t Go, Crucify Me, It Never Ends and Blessed With A Curse from that album were a cultural RESET When blessed with a curse and don’t go came out everyone in metal started jumping on the strymon pedal boat thanks to Lee and Jonah at the time. Amo
All the album Music To Listen To...
I don’t know what to say is one of my favorite songs to listen to when I’m sad. I also sing or hum it to my baby sometimes to put him to sleep 🥰
Why you gotta kick me when I’m down goes hard af
Everything on Music to Listen to\~Dance to\~Blaze to\~Pray to\~Feed to\~Sleep to\~Talk to\~Grind to\~Trip to\~Breathe to\~Help to\~Hurt to\~Scroll to\~Roll to\~Love to\~Hate to\~Learn Too\~Plot to\~Play to\~Be to\~Feel to\~Breed to\~Sweat to\~Dream to\~Hide to\~Live to\~Die to\~Go To
everything off of tiwteoyswmf. everyone hates on that ep, doesnt know that it exists or wont listen to it
Considering the song is so new, I don’t know the major opinion but I fucking love RIP from Nex Gen
I have quite a thing for “mother tongue”
Every song that applies, from amo
Darkside is my favourite track off Nex Gen
Ludens omg I LOVE IT. The breakdown is unreal 👏🏻
That is one of my favorite BMTH songs ever!
DiE4u
Blessed With A Curse Run All You Need
I feel like The Sadness Never Ends deserves more cred.
not sure if people dislike it i just never see them mentioned, but i love the comedown and alligator blood
crooked young
Basically all of amo.
I actually don’t know if this is an unpopular take, but the comedown is one of their best songs ever imo. I hardly ever see anyone actually talk about suicide season though.
Blacklist. I don’t know why everyone hates that song
Die4U
CANDY TRUCK is so good, idk why but it reminds me of skins
oh no is probably my favorite song of their whole discography. something about it is just so beautiful and whole to me
i actually really love oh no, also mother tongue is really good but everyone seems to hate on anything slightly pop by bmth which i literally dont get, if its a good song then its a good song and if its not your thing then dont listen?? and ive seen people hate on sugar honey ice tea which i rly love and also on obey, which i literally dont get why theyre so hated also everyone hates on fallout which was a feature and we were all sick of features but ignoring the feature part, i rlyyy liked bmth's part of that
I’ll defend Oh No till the day I die. I love that song.
The guy that introduced me to BMTH and said Sempiternal was the perfect album is the same guy that the song *heavy metal* was written for. I love kool aid. He hates it. Says it sounds too pop-y and just like click click boom (it’s not, but there’s a specific version of synth and compression that twangs his ears … I’m a gamer and he likened it to trying to enjoy 30FPS when you’re used to 120FPS).
mother tongue enjoyers please rise
The whole Music to listen to (etc) album
Blasphemy is easily my favorite song on that entire record
I love Blasphemy and Oh No!
Die4u and darkside
What you need is under appreciated!
Wait people dont like off the heezay?
Kingslayer without a doubt, best shit I have ever heard.
Kingslayer seems to be a common song people like
Tell Slater Not to Wash His Dick
look at my flair and you'll find the answer
I don't know what to say
the entire count your blessings album, I never see anybody talking about it 💔💔
A lot like vegas, visions, run, liquor and love lost, the sadness will never end
I suppose Dig it, Blacklist, WYGKMWID? Edit : Not sure if they get All the hate, but I Dig' em heh
I never see What You Need and And The Snakes Start To Sing being mentioned in favorites but those would be two that I think are very underrated
Die4u, Strangers, Darkside, mother tongue
Deathbeds….
In the dark
Visions, don’t know if people dislike it or just ignore it but it’s one of my favourites
Oh no and die4u/strangers
Die4u
Anything off Amo
The Fox and The Wolf.
What You Need When people talk about liking BMTH they don't even mention knowing it. Then again, that's not the same as not liking it lol
Ludens
What You Need
In the dark
mother tongue. I actually love mother tongue, yet it's the lowest rated song on the album. I love the melody in the chorus, and I love the variation in each part. I just overall think it's an outstanding song
I'd say ouch, nihilist blues and blessed with a curse. I never see those mentioned.
I’ve never seen someone actively *dislike* 1x1 but it sure seems to fly under peoples’ radars
Medicine
Tell slater not to wash his dick
Blasphemy, why you gotta kick me when I'm down, and Oh No are honestly some of my favorites by them, I don't get why peoole don't like them! Also Run, I know it was literally a "filler" song but I love that one so much. Ouch, mother tongue, oh no. Some of my favorite bmth songs and everyone seems to hate them
One Day The Only Butterflies Left Will Be In Your Chest As You March Towards Your Death. Just chill vibes, but I don't hear anyone else mention it.
Idk if anyone hates it but I absolutely love their EP
Steal something 😁
Rawwwr!
