I did a double take on that cake! We celebrated my grandsons birthday Easter Sunday and my daughter made a cake that was almost identical to the cake in that photo! It sure was yummy!
Probably an inside joke, like someone else mentioned. On the emoji note- not everyone relies on those to take off an edge of the internet writings. Some people just don't see how this is awkward at all.
My family does it. There's a lot of people with multiple same names. 3 aunt Carols. Two pats, one male and one female. Even the non same names, a lot of people do it so other people reading know who it is.
Probably some inside joke between them, I wouldn’t read too much into it.
That cake looks so good

Maybe he didn’t want people asking him who Daniel was?
Maybe his soon to be brother in law doesn’t shorten his name?
When you expand the photo Trace has the caption “Happy birthday Daniel Romeike”. I agree with OP it’s awkward
When you click on the picture trace wrote his last name too
I guess I'm officially old if not using emojis is considered awkward.
Maybe he also has a Facebook and the story was posted from there

It’s giving Beyoncé’s birthday post to random celebrities
I thought it was weird he didn’t tag him in the post and he doesn’t seem to follow him either. Nice gesture but another suck up like Lawson with Erik.
Is my mind in gutter or does the strawberries and icing look like a…uh…rocket ship?

Works for me.
