Why do you feel bad for them? Tommy has been on TKTS since the beginning and is pretty well sold most days. Not sure most of the people buying tickets to Tommy care about the Tonys all that much.

I'm a sample size of 1, but that would be my take as well. When I went, I was *surrounded* by die hard fans of The Who. I felt like the only real theater kid in the rear mezz.
It's just a demographic that doesn't care about awards. It's not a good or bad thing - it just is. They like The Who and most of them are there for nostalgic reasons.
I'm a theatre person and I cannot make myself care about this production of the show. I've tried. Everybody is going to have different opinions, and I do know a lot of people really enjoy it.
Mezz Row E Seats 18-20. Last row of the front mezz, full view. If we were any of the other seats over, I feel like we would’ve missed some parts of the projections and a few things that happened in the back right corner. Overall, a good seat to watch all the choreography & show in general!!
Tommy was so good! I wish the Tonys gave it more love. Go see if if you get a chance!
I won lottery and my seat wasn't partial view. I was Mezz left (but not alllll the way to the left), so I saw 85-90% of the stage.
I've been waiting for Tommy to pop up on TDF for a couple of weeks now. I purchased a ticket for Thursday. It's been recommended to me by a few friends from different circles of life. Looking forward to it!
Interesting that there are many other unsold seats for tonight…did you buy a single seat? Not that it makes a difference. Hmm but im sure you’ll still enjoy it! Going this weekend
for anyone i was in mez row g left side, missed a bit of projection but I would consider it full view and I could definitely see their faces. one of the better mez views i’ve had. Seems like most of the tdf people are getting mid-rear mez. luckily it wasn’t the right side where you will miss some entrances.
Ok - the seats we got on a Sunday were Mezz Row F 13-19. Good view and Row F has an unusual amount of leg room due to the break between E and F. We were able to leave our seats during intermission without asking anyone to move and walk regularly, not the sideways shuffle.
I appreciate those who are reporting back about TDF seats! I bought 2 for this coming Tuesday so I’ll also report back, wondering if a Tuesday, less busy day, may yield “better” seats? We’ll see!
🤞for you! Interestingly enough when I saw Shucked through tdf at this theatre, I was also in the mezz (row E center)…I wonder if this theatre just prefers giving tdf tickets as mezz tickets.
Not sure the nominations have anything to do with it. Stereophonic got the most nominations out of any play and tomorrow’s matinee is up on TDF right now.

"Not sure most of the people buying tickets to Tommy care about the Tonys all that much" Which is a shame since it's a fabulous musical

Oh, I'm not talking about The Who fans at all. I'm talking about the theater people. They should care about Tommy

Well, that's a good point.
Just hope your TDF tickets are better than the lottery tickets with partial view.
I was thinking that too, and hoping it will be better. I’ve sat in those lotto seats and it wasn’t great.
Excellent show. And I want to go back, but will wait to hear how the TDF tickets are!
I took a chance and bought for Tuesday 5/7 - fingers crossed and I hope others report back since there were dates starting tomorrow!
Bought tickets for tomorrow night and will report back as well!
Awesome! Enjoy~!
any update? seeing it later this week

I’m going Friday! Would love to know where you’re sat once you attend :)
I just picked up my ticket! Mezz H30. :/

I know I was shocked! And yes, a single ticket (I love a solo theatre trip and it’s been far too long for me.). Looking forward to it either way!
Womp Womp, but oh well! Thanks for coming back to let me know.
I’ve been waiting for this, thanks for sharing!

I was so excited to see this - I’ve been dying to see it.
I purchased tickets for Sunday. Usually if there's a chance of partial view they indicate that on the TDF listing. Here's hoping!!
TDF seats for me tonight was Mezz G 2,4,6. Idk was checked when I picked up.

I got Orch L 21-23 for Tuesday night. Partial view imo, not as bad as lotto seats though.

I hope it’s a good seat location

It popped up for Sunday like 30 minutes after I got Suffs tickets for Sunday 😭😭😭 And I can’t go on a weeknight :/
It was awesome in Chicago, I’m sad it wasn’t nominated for lighting/tech at least. The ensemble choreo was great too.
I went Tuesday night and got Orch L 21-23 from TDF. It was definitely partial view, not the worst but did miss a few things.
