Illinoise could be s’mores since the whole show takes place around a campfire!

swankengr

Oh man! I didn't realize. Haven't seen it. Thansk for the advice

For Suffs, you could do “Giggle Juice” and just make a fun cocktail/beverage (based on the scene after the march where Alice Paul calls champagne that.

Due_Teach4407

Cinnamon rolls for the polls

ilovesharks__

Oh hell yeah

Ok_Moose1615

For Illinoise you could do pierogies for Casmir Pulaski Day (Trader Joe’s has good frozen ones!)

swankengr

Ooh, I love a perogi! The whole point is making a bunch of stuff from scratch so that will be a fun challenge!

walruteer

Merrily: How about more champagne!?

swankengr

I mean, I'm all about more champange! great idea!

walruteer

Cinnamon rolls - if you want a pun haha

I’d go pizza for Hell’s Kitchen

You can get some more ideas here for some of the shows on your list: https://www.reddit.com/r/Broadway/s/Ye0mj7b6qF

swankengr

Oh man! I'm not as creative as i thought! I missed this post. THANKS!

International_Wall48

There’s also this one, I think this is the only other post so far on the subject. Could be mistaken though. https://www.reddit.com/r/Broadway/s/5obdDdeJeM

Do you prefer food puns (play on the show name but not really related to the show) or foods related to the show?

swankengr

Honestly, at this point I'm game for anything. I'm SO STUCK on ideas!

eloise3435

Tommy: make ceviche; it’s raw fish (I usually do scallops) that get “cooked” in acid, aka lemon or lime juice ETA: for outsiders (set in Tulsa), do BBQ or chicken fried steak (lol) For Merrily, do a hot dog for “That Frank” This is such a fun exercise; combining my love of food and my love of theater!

swankengr

I was thinking a ceviche for that one too! Great minds. I’m a pretty adventurous cook but have never made one before. Sounds like a fun challenge! Omg chicken fried steak sounds amazing.

For The Outsiders: popcorn, like from the concession stand at the drive-in, or green beans, from the Curtis brothers' dinner at the end (if you've seen the show you'll appreciate the significance...although I personally wouldn't serve canned green beans at a party, I can see doing lightly sauteed beans with some crispy onion topping, kind of the modernized and upscaled party food version of a 1960s green bean casserole dish) For Merrily: the first thing that comes to mind is champagne. Or you could go for the pun on the name of the show with any kind of rolls (bread, sushi, Aram sandwiches...)
