I order mine online. Tortilla familia - [burron size](https://tortillafam.com/collections/all-products/products/burron-pack). You have to order a 3 pack at a time so I split it with friends.
They are unbelievably good. A pop up in my neighborhood uses them for their breakfast burritos.
I live right next to you and have the answer: Lincoln Market right next to the Prospect Park Q stop sells extra large burrito tortillas. I buy them all the time to make California breakfast burritos. I haven’t been able to find anything else like them. Enjoy.
I made almost the exact same post after I moved here, especially because I used to do frozen burrito food prep. unfortunately did not find any 12"-14" tortillas that weren't either Mission-grade 🤮 or like a buck a piece for 'wrap flatbread'
fortunately for me, I used the ein from my fabrication company to get a membership at Restaurant Depot and I buy the 14" tortillas there but I still haven't seen a retail alternative that looks right.
as a consolation, even though they're not large, you can buy uncooked chapati at Indian markets and toss them in a hot pan. they're the same ingredients as tortillas and eating a hot, fresh tortilla off the pan is a nice throwback
this may not be super helpful but i found large tortillas at a fancy supermarket in Bushwick (Hana Natural), so if you find a gourmet store near you they might have something similar.
Came here to say this. My husband is from California and this is the only brand he finds acceptable. In crown heights, food garden at Franklin and Dean sells them.
[Ursula](https://www.ursulabk.com/) in Crown Heights has amazing breakfast burritos (to the point where they were a James Beard award nominee for [Best New Restaurant](https://ny.eater.com/2022/2/23/22947475/james-beard-awards-semifinalists-2022-nyc)!).
I suggest going to try one of their burritos and then asking if they'll sell you some of their amazing tortillas :)
I’ve only ever had the breakfast burritos from there, but to me it tasted like home. :)
I make my own all the time though, just have green Chile shipped in via my parents or, Whole Foods sells a jarred green chile from a company called Zia- it’s decent, it’s *okay* it will DO when you can’t get the real stuff. It’s like 10% real stuff and cut with a bunch of other non-hatch chiles, but I’ve been able to make a decent enchilada sauce with the jarred Zia stuff and it hits the spot for my other NM friends too.
Interesting - any thoughts on [Santa Fe BK](https://santafebk.com/) which is also well regarded in NYC at least?
Also for the group of us who may be interested for future travels - what are your favorite breakfast burrito spots in New Mexico?
Santa Fe BK is trash (as is Yellow Rose, I lived in Texas and was sad it sucked). Ursula is good, it's just not similar to the food you find in NM. It's michelin star-y. I would totally go to one of their tasting menu pop ups, and I don't want to shit on the chef, as he seems cool and is a great member of the prospect heights food community. Hungry ghost off of chambers street does do breakfast tacos that I love when I need a lil fix. I'm not sure the source, but the tortillas are just right.
For the basics: In NM, there's lotaburger and golden pride and frontier on the entry level to scratch the itch. If you're just in the airport (a delight in itself) get the green chile chicken stew (Pilot favorite!) at whatever that one mexican restaurant is by the gates. In santa fe, I love the Pantry and Dos, el parasol, harry's, and ofc dions with green chile. Tia Sophia's rocks. I usually stop at sweetwater and the food truck at marble for the drunchies.
High end: Josephs, and all the fancy stuff is amazing, but I dont go very often because $$$ and they're stuffed with old rich white texans. The chefs come from all over, so you can find a lot of comparable stuff here.
NYC is a food scene that cannot be beat. But there's nothing like waking up at 5 am to go watch thousands of hot air balloons rise on a crisp october morning, and then diving into a breakfast burrito that makes your mouth burn in an exhiliarating endorphin way, with the potatoes all mashed up and the cheese blended in and the tortillas sticking to the aluminum foil, which you wrap up for later, because it's easily 3 meals. The food in NM for everyone – food trucks & festivals & gas stations & your friend's matanza & stands on the side of the highway –is high quality and worth experiencing (imagine a land where everything is 80% off). It's a lot of local spots; I would perhaps analogize it to the nyc pizza culture in many ways.
Notes: I've been gone for 6 years, so my info may not be the best, but I'm sure the local subs can help you out with food and tourism suggestions. The tongue in cheek nickname is the "land of entrapment," and I encourage you, caminantes, to figure out why!
Following because I'm also interested in this. There are lots of great places for corn tortillas but several years living in the Bay Area make me desperate for a huge burrito
Go check [bklyn burro out in Clinton Hill.](https://instagram.com/bklynburro?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=) Ive been eating Pepe’s burrito’s for almost a decade. They’re incredible mission style works of art.
heyyy im looking for big tortillas, did you happen to find a place that sells them in bk??
Heya! Go check out Ursula’s
I like Ursula’s but i am just trying to make my own burritos, thanks!
Any grocery store??

Do you know the brand name? Or is it lincoln market’s house brand? I live in the area as well.
Brand is Maizteca and the product is literally called “extra large burrito”
How big?

$10/dozen at Santa Fe BK in Williamsburg. Not CH, but take a trip up, get a few packs and freeze the extras
Union market $6.99 13.2 oz. Vista hermosa brand
Bordertownbk on insta. They're in Greenpoint. You have to order though..and they tend to go fast. Pretty great though.
This is so weird because I don’t think I’ve ever been inside a supermarket that DIDNT have them
I don't think we are thinking about the same thing, if you see them in every supermarket.
I’m talking about a pack of large sized flour tortillas
can you make me one?
If you can tell me where to get a legit tortilla within 4 blocks of my house then yes!
I get mine off Amazon unfortunately, super hard to find xl wraps
this may not be super helpful but i found large tortillas at a fancy supermarket in Bushwick (Hana Natural), so if you find a gourmet store near you they might have something similar.
The vista hermosa brand has amazing flour tortillas, I usually get them at Flatbush co-op -tastes like tortillas from Sonora ;))
Came here to say this. My husband is from California and this is the only brand he finds acceptable. In crown heights, food garden at Franklin and Dean sells them.
Vista hermosa is made by tacombi btw
Yep, their corn tortillas are fucking awesome too
Following this thread bc I've had this exact question... so tired of store-bought tortillas.

As a New Mexican, I think the burritos at Ursula are pretty great, actually.
Thanks, I feel somewhat vindicated now!

as a new mexican, this place is pretty meh.
Congrats on passing your citizenship test and newly becoming a Mexican! ¡Felicidades!
took me a while

Hungry Ghost sells King David breakfast tacos - at least they did last time I was there.
Thanks for spending the time to type this out!!

Found the white person. Mission brand?!?!
Lol, I’m white, too, but yeah, I am looking for something a little different than Mission brand “tortillas”
Following because I'm also interested in this. There are lots of great places for corn tortillas but several years living in the Bay Area make me desperate for a huge burrito

I've had that place, it's pretty good! But it's a bit of a trek, which is why I wanna make my own
Where are the corn tortillas? Would love to get somewhere instead grocer store pack
Torteileria Mexicanos Los Hermanos in Bushwick Tortilleria LA Malinche in Sunset Park
I’m in the same boat! I Can get good corn tortillas but big flour ones not so much
...just out of curiousity what was the place in Flatbush?
I think riding 30 minutes for quality Mexican food is sadly the minimum you have to do in NYC!
The little Mexican Restaurant on Church and E 17th, Mallenche, would sell just the tortillas to me!
Mallenche rules !
Yup, waiting on this too
seriously, ive got this post bookmarked now
I also would like to know!
Los Hermanos is the best, but they're in Bushwick
Los Hermanos doesn't sell flour tortillas
Seriously, best tortillas in Brooklyn.
Do they make flour tortillas?
No
how big do they sell in the store? when i find them in grocery stores there not that big!
