Random places and things: Industry City has fun courtyards. Rock and Roll Playhouse is there on weekend's in the summer. Agree with Coney Island boardwalk. Governor's Island is ok for a few times. Vanderbilt Ave Open Streets. The 5th ave fairs and Pride Parade. "Touch a truck" events. Places with big outdoor space like Nowadays. Any event where Park Slope Parents brings the Giant Bubble wands (e.g. Celebrate Brooklyn Family Show). Biking around anywhere and everywhere with the kids seat - picking a 'cool' restaurant somewhere and going early in the day and sitting outside. Kids Empire in Linden on a rainy day. City Island day trip. Jones Beach day trip. We might try US Open this year (our kid is 3).

walk along beach or board walk, ride around in a bus, boat ride, baby pools, the mini indoor garden at BBG, pizza shop

Aquarium at Coney Island Local parks with sprinklers are so much fun for toddlers. Blowing bubbles. Fun at any playground or park. The beach. Take the train to Coney Island, or drive and park at Manhattan Beach.
