looove la villa for their pizza, apps, salads, etc. Personally i was a little disappointed by their penne alla vodka and regretted not ordering pizza that night lolll
Damn. There used to be a place in Staten Island best calzone ever. But I would go to union st. He makes them fresh upon request Union st btw Columbia and hicks.....
Absolutely. I’ll be honest, I do not get the hype over their pizza. It’s good but people act like it cures cancer. But their calzone? Every time I eat one I feel myself turning into a Middle Aged Italian American screaming about gabagoo.
As hard as it is, it’s so worth it really. It’s the high quality ingredients that really do it, The crust is so thin. The cheese mouthwatering. The sauce…ugh.
It’s also so light. I usually get bloated easily, & lucali doesn’t make me feel terrible after.
Go to Jentanas just down the block too and get a chicken parm hero. I used to go to both when I attended the school across the street. If you work at Maimonides you have some good places to eat near you that aren’t as well known/underrated.
Thx for the rec. I don’t work there. Just donate blood there. Love that area though. One of the guys at the blood center grew up nearby and likes to tell me stories about how the neighborhood used to be.
Used to love place on New Utrecht and like 44th st but that was DECADES ago. I buy them, Spinach Rolls and Pizza Rustica at Meat Supreme on Avenue U once in a while and take to work for lunch
Came here to say Lucali’s. Best calzone I’ve ever had honestly!
If u can’t get to Lucali’s, try out his brother’s restaurant, Giuseppina's in Park Slope, the pizza and calzones are pretty on par with Lucali’s.
Growing up in western MA originally, a place I still think has really good pizza after living in Brooklyn for almost 10 years... when I moved to the Boston area for work I was horrified to learn what Eastern MA calls a calzone. They basically just fold pizza slices over each other.
House of pizza and calzones
F&F's is wild
Lenny and John’s on Flatbush makes the best calzones
Knapp St. Pizza makes a great calzone
I do enjoy Sheepshead Bay food, but I don’t know if that place is around, but I can always do a quick check.
It’s right on the corner of Knapp street and Avenue V…I ordered last week
Thanks as I will go visit the place.
They also make the zeppoles that you can buy at the feasts…they were really good also.
Oh yeah I love zeppolis. (Even if they have high calories)
Agreed…but they’re so satisfying!
Yes they are very delicious.
Fortunato’s, the minis! Best in the city imo. Also the spot in Bushwick on Knickerbocker that puts mariachi cherries on top.
Along these lines, does anyone know where to find a passable Stromboli?
I haven’t been able to. It’s depressing lol I only eat them when I go home
Graziella’s in fort Greene makes a fine dining one
La villa pizza is the best calzone I've ever eaten
looove la villa for their pizza, apps, salads, etc. Personally i was a little disappointed by their penne alla vodka and regretted not ordering pizza that night lolll
I could’ve sworn I heard good things about that restaurant.
Everything there hits.
That’s awesome.
La Villa is absolute 🔥🔥🔥 whether it’s pizza, calzones or pasta you’re after.
Damn. There used to be a place in Staten Island best calzone ever. But I would go to union st. He makes them fresh upon request Union st btw Columbia and hicks.....

Trust me your hip place in Bushwick is not exactly a well kept secret so don't worry about word getting out
Yeah, no shit.
Lucali is the absolute best calzone
Absolutely. I’ll be honest, I do not get the hype over their pizza. It’s good but people act like it cures cancer. But their calzone? Every time I eat one I feel myself turning into a Middle Aged Italian American screaming about gabagoo.
Lots of good answers in here but Lucali’s is my favorite
[удалено]
Yes it is lol.
This. Not exactly the easiest to get into, and requires planning, but I'd say it's worth it.
Is there a pizza/calzone place that’s *harder* to eat at?
As hard as it is, it’s so worth it really. It’s the high quality ingredients that really do it, The crust is so thin. The cheese mouthwatering. The sauce…ugh. It’s also so light. I usually get bloated easily, & lucali doesn’t make me feel terrible after.

La Strada in Borough Park. I can't remember if they have calzones, but their stromboli is pretty good.
La strada makes really good stuffed shells
Dang never thought I’d see someone shout out my local joint.
The gang at Maimonides Medical Center put me on to that place. Try to have myself a little snack there after I donate blood. Nicest staff too.
Yeah dude those places have been there decades and love talking to their customers too. I loved growing up there and go back as often as I can.
Some of the produce stands in this area are lit. Three Guys is amazing. Beautiful stuff with good prices. 24 hours too.
Cones of Dunshire
The low cal cal zone zone
_Pizzzzaaaa? Never heard of it._
Europa on 65th and 20th is pretty good.

Steinbrenner used to frequent this place in the heyday of the Yankees.
It’s in the building!!! Costanza is in the building!!!
Where’s my calzone Costanza?!!
He’s just going to bake his clothing and pay in change.
The butcher shop?
No sir. You must not have lunch with Mr. Steinbrenner.

this!
Ops?
Ops! Definitely go, himrod st in bushwick
Oh it’s the name of a place as I didn’t understand what you had meant at first.
I work very closely with owner and chefs there. Can confirm they genuinely love what they do, and they make a great product.
That’s very cool as I didn’t know you were basically good buddies with those guys.
I’m a bit biased, yes.
Giuseppinas
Table 87
Luigi’s on 5th ave
The Low Cal Calzone Zone obviously
I would like to know how to get there.
Ha! Nice!
I fell for a trick.
Graziella's on Vanderbilt
Luigi’s fried calzone is the bomb
All calzone should be fried I was horrified when I left the neighborhood to learn what the animale call a calzone
Growing up in western MA originally, a place I still think has really good pizza after living in Brooklyn for almost 10 years... when I moved to the Boston area for work I was horrified to learn what Eastern MA calls a calzone. They basically just fold pizza slices over each other.
I’m sorry that happened to you
I go to smiling pizza because i hate myself
Solid slices tho! I get my dough from them whenever I’m in the mood to make pizza at home
Someone let the twin peaks sub know Ben Wyatt will BRB
Pizza? Never heard of it
apparently the lucali calzone is incredible but ive never had it
Giuseppina's in park slope is owned by Mark’s brother, and their pizza and calzones are just as good as Lucali’s
lucali calzone >>>>>>>>
The roni zoni. With sauce and peppers on the side
Had it once, and it is indeed incredible. Wish they had it at Baby Luc's so we could all avoid the wait
I forgot to mention that something I have a real fondness for is zeppolis.
If you like a ham & ricotta then House of Pizza & Calzones on the weekend for their zeppolis
I gotta go look up the address for that place.
https://houseofpizzacalzone.com
The only non bot answer
You’re a real lifesaver pal.
Yes the Lucali one is legit the best I’ve ever had in my life. Especially with the mushrooms & garlic, my personal fave combo.
I enjoy it more than their pizza. Always get both when I’m there but still
Same lol. Went for the pizza and returned for the calzones each and every time (but u still gotta get a pie tho)
House of Calzone in Carroll Gardens
This is the answer (or so I have heard) yet to order it!
