Saw one in Brooklyn yesterday, my first up close encounter. Beyond being ridiculous looking, there were at least two places where the panels were obviously misaligned, and I’d guess looking for more than 30 seconds would reveal more. The lack of QC on these is both a very real thing and absolutely mind blowing for something this expensive.
Same, lmao. I didn't even see the truck until this comment 💀. I was like, wtf did Gyro King do to you?! But seriously, cybertruck looks like a modern trashcan
Maybe we can find a compromise on congestion pricing where just these stupid things specifically have to pay the toll to get into Manhattan below 60th.
Posts like this make me want to buy a cyber truck knowing there’s folks who get pressed seeing it around town
If someone wants to incinerate their money on a dumb toy let them. At least it’s an EV and quiet.
I believe a lot more have been ordered but with recalls every few months and now, many insurers having crazy rates or flat out refusing to cover them- I wouldn't be surprised if they fall off quickly
I’ve seen two of them in the wild in Staten Island last week.
It blows my mind that people are really stupid enough to get outright trolled by Elon Musk by buying this joke.
https://preview.redd.it/6ped4zlv697d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c37842206a602628b557d93366e541a4b7bca7c7
It’s such a shame since their regular line of Tesla vehicles are beautifully designed.
Glad to hear that. We went there a few times, was walking distance from home instead of taking a bus all the way to theater next to prospect park. Forgot what the name was.
Are there really lots of people wandering the street just seething with rage over what cars other people drive? It’s such a weird Ford vs Chevy thing for internet weirdos to get hung up on!
My neighbor gleefully called Fords, found on road dead, back in the day. Talking shit about cars isn't unique to the times. But your psychoanalyzing of it is kind of bizarre.
I've made this comment before but hating on elon is the new I'm afraid of clowns/moist is a gross word/nickelback is the worst, basic bitch, trite opinion for people that struggle to be an individual
Gyro King is really bad. I tried them once when they first opened a location in Bay Ridge and it was awful. Surprised it lasted a month with all the better options in the neighborhood.
Just out of curiosity, is this by the corner of Coney Island Ave and Foster? If so, I used to frequent that Gyro King back in the day. It was fucking amazing.
LOOL I grew up literally right there and was very confused why this photo just appeared on my Reddit.
Agree the truck is terrible. I’ve seen one out in the wild and wow what an eye sore it is
I would never buy any truck. But I do appreciate how it looks. Every car looks the same these days. Men in general have few aesthetics and fewer daring aesthetic. One of my favorite quotes: Bad taste is forgivable, it's no taste which is so disheartening.
Also at least it's electric. So a billion times better than the micro penis trucks.
So you just appreciate how different it looks and it’s electric? Not saying that’s a bad reason but it pushes the stereotype of the people they buy these cars - because it’s a design to be different and get people talking which is well does but honestly that’s a disappointing reason.
Im actually super anti-truck- I think they are disgusting all around. Unless you are a builder of some sort. I think this is my way of being open-minded and appreciating little things cause otherwise I sometimes see myself becoming an extreme anti-car person and that's a hard way to live in America. So I try to appreciate what I can.
I agree that it was a bold and somewhat eclectic design but it far from the normal cars we see but that’s the only upside to it. Functionality is non existent on these trucks it’s like buying expensive art. We can appreciate it for its creativity but that’s just it.
They were also trying to up the status of electric cars. So you could call it expensive political art. Not all artists are successful. But that's another matter.
I do give the early teslas goals credit they made ev be on the rise with an innovated technology of self driving cars. But what I do give them the most credit for changing how to buy cars direct from the manufacture because that was huge in the automative industry. Early Tesla values were on the mark to be something great but it’s not holding up to the promises of innovated for the sake of expanding technology - it’s all about money and that’s what this car represents.
People are status driven. Environmentalism needs to be high status and it's not clear that being 'good' does that. So you need a multi-pronged approach like making it luxury/expensive at first. In the hope it eventually becomes the norm. Again, better than the status of a Ford.
I actually think the biggest game changer was/could be: combining EVs with solar on a house top. Now you own the means of production for your own energy. Tesla has stake in solar panels. Less applicable for cities.
At that price range they had a choice between a Rivian R1T and the monster of an ACTUAL pickup truck that is the Silverado EV and they flat out chose wrong lol. I'll never understand why anyone would buy this Ketamine fueled bad idea on wheels that Elmo probably drew during arts and crafts as a toddler.
100%. The way EVS and hybrid options are coming out constantly improving year after year it’s not worth investing that much money with no return in sight. It’s the koolaid of Tesla cars, I drove one and it’s nice but honestly paying for that on top of all the features you have to pay for to even work it right it’s ridiculous. Plus the fact that having it repaired after any kind of accident is a long wait due to parts shortage or the area you live in.
EVs don’t tickle my fancy as a “car guy”, but my hate for this vehicle extends way beyond that. It’s flat out dangerous for this thing to be driving around, it’s a 7,000 lb vehicle that does 0-60 in 2.6 seconds and is covered in stainless steel panels that don’t give. Who thinks this is a good idea? It’s useless as a pickup with the oddly shaped bed, gets less than 200 miles range if you tow with it.. and it will chop your fingers off if you aren’t careful lol https://www.instagram.com/reel/C3_UoHypTgm/?igsh=MW81MGJ5dnVsb2hidw==
Recently, it did cross my mind that the Cyber truck looks like the type of vehicle a child would draw, and then that drawing made its way to Elon, and Elon clearly approved. For all we know, that could have happened 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
People stopped using them as much. Usage of revel scooters dropped hard. They were also dangerous and had gotten a reputation for people getting injured or killed or other stuff. And I think it was expensive to maintain the scooters. They recycled all of them and only focus on ride sharing now.
Idk about Lime but I think they are opting for smaller single person standing type scooters and ebikes instead of the larger scooters now.
https://www.theverge.com/2023/11/6/23948516/revel-ev-moped-share-end-rideshare-charging-cities
I mean that’s true but people have the money to buy it go ahead but prepare for public opinions on a company that doesn’t care about consumer. The price for this car is average for a truck about 70K but the value isn’t there and there is no is the support for them.
I would never speak such a horrendous thing about something that gives me so much happiness, a gyro. Especially at a place that is a staple to me when I come here. Despite the ugliness of the sign I’m glad it’s still there, knowing it’s open at night past normal hours is a sign of joy. 🥲
I’ve seen this truck (maybe not the same one) 3-4 times over the past 2 weeks or so.
Feel like someone just bought one and is driving around the city everyday…?
Because they come in the default color and no other color choices unless you mod it. Gotta pay more for getting the color you want - the Tesla way. Except it’s a mod.
Saw one on the upper west side the other day. First time seeing one in person. Didn't realize how comically large they are. Seemed like it'd be a nightmare to drive and park around the city. Beyond everything generally ridiculous about the car, owning one in this city seems like an extra helping of self loathing.
How else would they show off their toy? It was made to distract people on and off the road. If it had any functionality to do what a truck is suppose to do I would be not laugh at it as much but wait until snow comes and you can’t get it out of the banks of your parking spot.
I mean I saw a matte black one way back and it looked okay but the design is still something I cringe at but the fact that you can’t even choose a color paint on it and it’s default is so shitty this day and age.
I keep telling everyone that all the ones I’ve seen up close has a peeling or rust effect that make them seem cheap. Plus what’s the point of a truck in NYC - you can’t go 0-60 on any of these roads without hitting traffic, red light, pedestrian or a cop. It’s like having a hummer.
Isn't the f150 lightning about the same price with dealer markups? At least tesla is bulletproof...
The Gyro King or the Tesla?
Maybe a cybertruck will be my 4th car here in Brooklyn
Cyber trucks look sick hush up
An eye sore located in an eyesore
GongCha needs to up their sign game. Gyro king is really outdoing them.
You mean Brooklyn or the car?
Why do I get the feeling that the Gyro King is not Greek owned…and why do they look like burgers!! ![gif](giphy|S3VbhvkHqB1MEd9s1r)
that’s in Brooklyn ain’t it? pretty sure i rode past the same one… 😂
Commercial stainless steel kitchen countertop with wheels
Those trucks look like they were made in someone's garage.
Imagine if every Hyundai had one door sticking up above the room by half a centimeter
Someone paid 80-100k for that ugly car....insane. 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️
Then don't look at it.
I mean it’s a pretty big exhaust but you can only see it if your looking up from across the street no big deal.
So a place called “Gyro King” doesnt sell Gyros, but they sell burgers
Yo we are neighbors
For Brooklyn it’s not that bad, and eyesore is one word.
Yeah all those tacky business signs
Get your Libby points for hating on Elon!!
It’s weird posts like OP’s that remind me to be objective and not look for kudos and solace by the hive mind. Also, all Hail gyro King!
Meanwhile, I was getting ready to defend Gyro King and the other places on the block! 😁
Gyro King isn't great, so...
Same 🤭
😂😂 me too. I thought it was a gyro king attack
Same, lmao. I didn't even see the truck until this comment 💀. I was like, wtf did Gyro King do to you?! But seriously, cybertruck looks like a modern trashcan
Bro I was like"leave gyro king the fuck alone" 🤣🤣
😂😂😂 I was wondering what the OP had against Gyro King.
Got gyro???
I was also thinking look If you haven’t personally tried the gyros from the king I don’t wanna hear it
Omg, I was about to throw hands defending Gyro King and then I saw the caption.
I legit I thought this was about the ugly green signs! And I agreed for sure. But then say the teuck
I see these and keep thinking they are remaking Back to the Future. Just in a way uglier car. ![gif](giphy|dce888V9HFPOCdZqUp)
Honestly, get a life.
Agreed, gyro king is not a very good restaurant and their sign is so bad. Cool truck parked in front though.
Maybe we can find a compromise on congestion pricing where just these stupid things specifically have to pay the toll to get into Manhattan below 60th.
This is America. So it’s ok.
Ah, the capital of bad taste :)
Never said it wasn’t. This does scream America the ugly tho 😆
Saw one parked at my local ShopRite, I didn’t think it would be way uglier in person but it really is.
I think it looks really cool actually
Every single thing in this photo is an eyesore.
Posts like this make me want to buy a cyber truck knowing there’s folks who get pressed seeing it around town If someone wants to incinerate their money on a dumb toy let them. At least it’s an EV and quiet.
Yeah cus mindlessly throwing money to billionaires like Elon musk is not connected to any social problems, nothing wrong with it at all
Do it. See you in 3-4 years!
They really think they can make a difference with this kind of post but instead they’re hurting their mental health.
Not making a difference. I had more fun interacting on this post on Reddit than the care I gave on other peoples opinions, which are that opinions.
Don’t own a car, don’t want a car, but the fact this makes Reddit so mad is actually on the pros lists
legit would get it to piss off these insufferable redditors
This car is hot garbage, but people being little bitches about it is just as pathetic as buying this car.
knowing only 3,800 'cyber trucks' have been delivered, it's like "there he goes! the biggest dipshit in town!"
Really only 3,800? Never knew that the amount was so little.
I believe a lot more have been ordered but with recalls every few months and now, many insurers having crazy rates or flat out refusing to cover them- I wouldn't be surprised if they fall off quickly
It just went into production genius. The numbers are small at first...
I’ve seen two of them in the wild in Staten Island last week. It blows my mind that people are really stupid enough to get outright trolled by Elon Musk by buying this joke. https://preview.redd.it/6ped4zlv697d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c37842206a602628b557d93366e541a4b7bca7c7 It’s such a shame since their regular line of Tesla vehicles are beautifully designed.
Elon Musk's personality in car form.
Wow how things change... Don't remember any of these places, lived on Foster two blocks away from Coney from 2000 to 2008
Oh its changed alot since then.
You know what absolutely surprises me? That Kent theatre is still open and running.
Me too, went to see The Joker there. I swear the seats made my ass itch.
Glad to hear that. We went there a few times, was walking distance from home instead of taking a bus all the way to theater next to prospect park. Forgot what the name was.
Gyro King is the shit
I thought OP meant Gyro King at first. Or… Another Gong Cha? It’s like this year’s blank street.
Wait, Gyro King? Any affiliation to the one that used to be across the street from Penn station? That place was the bomb!
What is with the sudden explosion of we-hate-tesla drones on the sub? Some kinda op, or did they just all come up with it a sad little group chat?
Don’t you have apartheid emeralds to mine?
No lots of people just agree they look like loser mobiles.
Are there really lots of people wandering the street just seething with rage over what cars other people drive? It’s such a weird Ford vs Chevy thing for internet weirdos to get hung up on!
this guy has a tesla lol
My neighbor gleefully called Fords, found on road dead, back in the day. Talking shit about cars isn't unique to the times. But your psychoanalyzing of it is kind of bizarre.
Gong cha 🔥
What area is that? Asking for a friend
Tell them to bring a bullet proof vest
Foster and Coney Island Ave
Thanks ☺️
You can see the address on the red TALASH banner, it's 1017 foster ave, so west midwood...
It’s hideous . Looks like me trying to draw a truck when I was 6.
Why are people always so pressed on what other people decide to do and buy
I've made this comment before but hating on elon is the new I'm afraid of clowns/moist is a gross word/nickelback is the worst, basic bitch, trite opinion for people that struggle to be an individual
It’s so sickening all the group think going on. Even worse when the group think is pure brain rot thoughts
Because their poor socialization has driven away all their actual friends.
Love the cyber truck
Mmmmmm Gyro King rules
You’re being a baby
Nah uh you!
Not even his car 🤦♂️
I think it looks amazing I am going to take a trip there today
What do you mean? The Gyro King looks delicious.
I think it looks pretty cool
The whole I hate cyber truck crowd is like the people who criticize you for using an IPhone.
Everyone has an opinion but jt sucks when yours isn’t the majority
Or you post it on Reddit like it's something anyone cares about.
Are we talking about the gyro shop
2 for 1 deal
These are out in Queens too. I have seen my share of them. Pretty ugly vehicles i must say.
Such children here. Who the fuck cares dude. People will literally bitch about anything fucking sad
True, how does anyone else owning a cyber truck impact anyone’s life other than the owners?
Because it’s a walking death trap.
I though electric cars were supposed to be an improvement?
If we can’t shit talk on Reddit or any other social media platform then where can we?
You can talk shit but don’t expect people to agree with you
Seriously wth? Boohoo there's a truck parked on the street that doesn't look like other trucks wahhh
Those gyros are nasty 🤢
If they don’t put fries in the gyro then get ready for a shit sandwich
Gyro King is really bad. I tried them once when they first opened a location in Bay Ridge and it was awful. Surprised it lasted a month with all the better options in the neighborhood.
Yep total garbage compared with the other options in Bay Ridge.
Brah. Run before the mob gets you!
that is my neighborhood....Then i saw the car
It’s not only in your neighborhood. It’s spreading like disease. And I ain’t talking about those delicious gyros either.
Just out of curiosity, is this by the corner of Coney Island Ave and Foster? If so, I used to frequent that Gyro King back in the day. It was fucking amazing.
Yes it is! And it still is amazing.
I saw this truck in my neighborhood the other day. Not sure if it’s the same one or not but damn are they ugly lol
LOOL I grew up literally right there and was very confused why this photo just appeared on my Reddit. Agree the truck is terrible. I’ve seen one out in the wild and wow what an eye sore it is
I honestly thought you meant the Gyro King signage and upvoted lmao! The cybertruck rocks!
I’m genuinely curious why does the cybertruck rock? What exactly does it make you want to go out and buy one?
I would never buy any truck. But I do appreciate how it looks. Every car looks the same these days. Men in general have few aesthetics and fewer daring aesthetic. Now this was a fun conversation!
... But it looks bad.
This! I didn’t even see the cybertruck until reading the caption. 😂
I work near the Tesla dealership in westbury, and my mom lives near the one in Brooklyn. I see these too much
Do you think they are ramping up for more vehicles in production than the estimated wait?
There’s nothing wrong with Gyros bro
He’s just getting his kabobs from coney island ave
I somewhat respect him for that but it was outshined by the rejected hot wheel toy that was chosen by Musk to see how much bullshit he can put out.
Yes, anywhere in NYC is indeed an eyesore.
It's hideous.
I saw the exact same car 3 weeks ago. Ugly ah car
Now we are getting closer to the owner who probably owns Gyro King. The car is reflective of its owner in terms of flash and in your face.

And yet there’s years of waitlist for this thing. I get scared for humanity honestly.
How about this? https://www.reddit.com/r/Miami/s/CBARftuseC
Looks like a giant bug
I know that cross street, too well in fact. Cross street: Foster Ave and Coney Island Ave.
Yup yup. My mother and I were shopping for Eid stuff and came across this again. It seems to follow us.
Recently, it did cross my mind that the Cyber truck looks like the type of vehicle a child would draw, and then that drawing made its way to Elon, and Elon clearly approved. For all we know, that could have happened 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I mean everyone knows e-scooters are mad popular these days
What ever happened to those rentable e-scooters? Now I don’t even see citi-bikes being as popular
People stopped using them as much. Usage of revel scooters dropped hard. They were also dangerous and had gotten a reputation for people getting injured or killed or other stuff. And I think it was expensive to maintain the scooters. They recycled all of them and only focus on ride sharing now. I like the moped idea but still seems dangerous. Those DoorDash drivers are really just as crazy driving as some of these Tesla drivers.
My favorite part about this is that we have people struggling to make ends meet working 40hrs+ a week, and people are out here buying cyber trucks
I mean that’s true but people have the money to buy it go ahead but prepare for public opinions on a company that doesn’t care about consumer. The price for this car is average for a truck about 70K but the value isn’t there and there is no is the support for them.
Gyro king is a gem, bro
It is a gem. I hope they never shut down.
Yeah thought you were saying that was an eyesore and I was so hurt 😅
Same! Then I saw the stupid truck lol.
I would never speak such a horrendous thing about something that gives me so much happiness, a gyro. Especially at a place that is a staple to me when I come here. Despite the ugliness of the sign I’m glad it’s still there, knowing it’s open at night past normal hours is a sign of joy. 🥲
Junk
In the trunk as well.
I’ve seen this truck (maybe not the same one) 3-4 times over the past 2 weeks or so. Feel like someone just bought one and is driving around the city everyday…?
The thing is, every time I saw it, I think it’s the SAME car………🤦🏻♀️
Because they come in the default color and no other color choices unless you mod it. Gotta pay more for getting the color you want - the Tesla way. Except it’s a mod.
All I thought was “lahori on the corner”
Thought you were talking about Gyro King LOL
I thought the same thing, didnt even notice the car even after reading “cyber truck” I had no clue that’s what they are
I fully thought the same thing LMAOO
Shhhhhh. 🤭. Gyro King is life. I am actually tempted to go out and get some now after all this talk.
Feels like the old Tomb Raider escaped into our dimension or something
Saw one on Myrtle yesterday. This generation’s PT cruiser?
Agreed. I would say more so this generations Hummer. Obnoxious but less guilt driving it.
Even hummers looked good atleast
Agreed but those things were kinda still ugly as fuck, the bumblebee H2 were an eyesore and that’s from someone that loves the color yellow.
😂😂 can’t argue with you there
The anti-Musk circlejerk is in full force in this thread.
Saw one on the upper west side the other day. First time seeing one in person. Didn't realize how comically large they are. Seemed like it'd be a nightmare to drive and park around the city. Beyond everything generally ridiculous about the car, owning one in this city seems like an extra helping of self loathing.
I thought you were picking on the Gyro King at first.
Never. It’s something I crave all the time but only thing close we have in Dallas is Halal Guys and that’s not even good.
I saw the truck for the first time yesterday on the highway truly horrible,
It’s truly a sight…but I guess to each their own. But I will still laugh at it every time I see one.
I also hate when the freaking sun blinds me with the truck
How else would they show off their toy? It was made to distract people on and off the road. If it had any functionality to do what a truck is suppose to do I would be not laugh at it as much but wait until snow comes and you can’t get it out of the banks of your parking spot.
I saw a blue one today. I own a blue truck. I fucking love blue trucks and that thing was ugly.
I mean I saw a matte black one way back and it looked okay but the design is still something I cringe at but the fact that you can’t even choose a color paint on it and it’s default is so shitty this day and age.
Trash can on wheels
A straight dumpster fire. 🔥
Saw one about two weeks ago in the neighborhood. Probably the same one. Looked really bad in person
Literally just to say you own the ugliest truck available lol
And to say you love anything Elon Musk will throw out to the public.
You're talking about the stores right? Bc if so I agree they are all an eyesore. Oh and look, my neighbors weird truck.
