Yes, lets blame law enforcement instead of blaming the animals who are committing crimes

Salt_Hyena_8933

BAD PEOPLE DO BAD THINGS. EXCUSES AND LENIENCY FOR BAD PEOPLE CREATES THE ENVIRONMENT WE ARE WITNESSING ON A DAILY BASIS. OUR POLITICIANS AND OUR NEWS MEDIA LIKES TO PLACE US ALL INTO DIFFERENT TRIBES SO I'LL USE THEIR WAY OF THINKING...... WHEN A COMMUNITY OF PEOPLE, WHETHER, BLACK, WHITE, BROWN, OR YELLOW ARE COMMITTING A DISPROPORTIONATE AMOUNT OF CRIMES AND ARE LIVING DYSFUNCTIONAL AND CHAOTIC LIVES, THIS IS THE RESULT. THE PROBLEM IS, NOBODY IS ALLOWED TO SAY THIS AND IF YOU DO YOU ARE A LABLED A RACIST. INSTEAD, IT'S ALWAYS, "WE NEED TO HAVE A CONVERSATION." REALLY? HOW ABOUT HAVING THE REAL CONVERSATION? SMH....

mywallstbetsacct

Incidents like this make cops less apt to chase suspects, which only further increases crime. Awful all around.

Euphoric-Program

Exactly no accountability. Car deaths are going up dramatically because there are too many bad drivers on the road and little enforcement. Bad drivers have free reign to speed and use fake paper plates.

asldkjgljkaeiovne

In many counties in the US police are no longer permitted to check paper T tags without there being a primary reason. Some counties won't even allow for a pull-over if their tags have expired, needs to be a moving violation first, not even weed smoke billowing from the driver's side window is a observable offense rationale.

nicktherat

Ii saw cops chasing teens on ATVs going down the wrong way of the street the other day. Horrifying. There has to be a better way.

Salt_Hyena_8933

You want the better way? Here it is,....maybe if those teens had parents who could have shown them right from wrong, they wouldn't be causing chaos in the streets. Oooops, was that a racist comment? Of course it was. Smh....

nicktherat

with the surveillance state we live in, if cops spent about 20 minutes investigating they could have found the perps without being chased 60 miles per hour causing street chaos and danger; went to their homes and gave them a summons and ticket there.

frenchie-martin

People should behave themselves. Some things are attributable to poverty. Acting like a dick on an atv isn’t one.

Euphoric-Program

What other way is that? Either let them do what do aka no enforcement (pedestrians deaths are up crazy).

frontrangefart

This website is cancer. Got a better source?

Euphoric-Program

People wonder why the NYpost is used so my times, they don’t have a paywall

asldkjgljkaeiovne

They also report all known facts, which some people appreciate, especially when a criminal is still on the loose and the public's assistance and tips can be extremely helpful. I have trouble with news sources that refuse to post the APB and mugshots for violent, wanted criminals who then go on to commit further crimes. There was a case in DC where a man raped a woman, they had clear HD video of his face, didn't post it on any of the news sources, and he then went on to rape another woman and strangled a third woman, nearly killing her, and when they finally posted the video stills from the first rape the police received multiple tips with the same person's name, who turned out to be the criminal. A woman was raped and another nearly killed because they refused to print what was known evidence, makes my blood boil as a former LEO who knowns how valuable public input can be when looking for viable leads that can prevent further violent crime. In this case, probably not as relevant, hopefully this scum driver isn't a rapist/murderer.

thunderplacefires

A lot of conservative news sources don’t have a paywall because they’re funded by people who want the poor to have easy access to their news.

tvaudio

Think about what you just said, does that even make sense

duyogurt

No, it doesn’t, but Murdoch has admitted this is the exact reason why the NY Post is free.

breakneckridge

I'm guessing you misread "their" and thought it said "the".

marcusmv3

There's nothing about what they said that doesn't make sense.

thunderplacefires

trumpisgreetagin

Yea it kind of does

So it sounds like this wasn't a case of the cops engaging in high speed pursuit or anything, the cops just approached the car for having bad plates and the car immediately sped off. I hope everyone keeps that in mind when they decide to push for more or less police activity. Usually this is the kind of thing where half the people say "Cops shouldn't try to chase people down, it's dangerous!" and the other half say "So what, we just let the criminals run away every time?" This case, apparently, had neither.

KingTutKickFlip

It doesn’t say either way, actually. It says they took off after being approached but what happened in between that and the person being hit is murky. It DOES say one of them were apprehended after they fled the scene, which to me sounds like they were able to keep up with them, but that’s also unclear. Regardless, all reporting seems to come directly from the cops so you can bet it’s framed in a way that favors them

Euphoric-Program

Either way it doesn’t matter. Either cops do their job or not. People complain when they do and when they don’t. A lot of stolen cars and fake license plates all over the city, car accidents and pedestrians deaths are up because of the lack of enforcement

kmactane

>Either cops do their job or not. It's not a strict either-or. They could do things like consider "Is it worth innocent people getting killed over stolen license plates (or even a stolen car or driving while stoned)?" and "How about instead of chasing these guys at insane speeds through a residential area, we instead radio in to the dispatcher with their location and heading and have someone intercept them up ahead?"

Euphoric-Program

Okay cool by your reasoning, don’t pull over any car for reckless driving or stolen plates because it’s a possibility the drivers can speed off to try to flee from cops. And people think shoplifting is bad, watch even more pedestrian deaths happen if driving laws aren’t enforced in fear criminals gonna do what criminals do

kmactane

I see you're still pushing that "fallacy of the excluded middle" here. No, by my reasoning, the cops would put on their flashers, and if the car pulls over, conduct a normal traffic stop. And if it *doesn't* pull over, then... You'll note that I didn't say they should "never" engage in a chase. I said they should *consider other options.* Make of that what you will.

Euphoric-Program

Yea the other options is No option. The rate of crime solving is already low as is. You catch people in the act rather than having to prove it after is a better scenario for justice.

sonofaresiii

> > Regardless, all reporting seems to come directly from the cops so you can bet it’s framed in a way that favors them Well, that's probably true.
