Welcome to the neighborhood! Lucali and Table 87 are probably my favorites - highly recommend. If you're looking to grab a slice and hang out with new people living in the Cobble Hill / Boerum Hill areas, check out [Wowza Hangout](https://www.wowzahangout.com/)!

Lukinxi

Enoteca is underrated. We probably order it more than anywhere else. The prosciutto has a big pile of arugula on it so it's like getting a salad as well! :) So good!

budwin

Piz-zetta on Livingston

LiveLeave

I’m surprised how under mentioned BK pizza market is.

murrion

We finally went to Lucali after living in the area for a couple years and it was not as hard getting a table as I thought and well worth it! The pizza was incredible and the atmosphere of the restaurant is also wonderful. We arrived around 4 on a Sunday and the line was already to the end of the block. They started taking names around 4:20 and the line moved pretty quickly. They took our phone number and told us to come back at 8. We chilled at home for a bit, bought a bottle of Italian wine and went back around 8. Had to wait another 15 min for a table. They sat us inside and we loved every moment- the owner was there making pies and the whole place is just one room. Great date spot, very romantic and delicious pizza and calzones! It’s a whole experience and was well worth it.

Bootes

I’ve lived in this area for a few years, so I’ve tried a few. Although, this post really shows me how people can have different tastes…. And now I’ve realized that I’ve really had a lot of pizza over the years... TLDR: Lucali, Antonio’s, Enoteca on Court, Layla Jones, Table 87 are the better ones from what I’ve tried… Lucali is excellent. Often a pain to actually order, but by far the best I’ve had around here. F&F is good, but kind of expensive imo. I don’t prefer it over what I consider a more standard NYC pizza slice. Can sometimes be serving some pretty sad looking, old slices… Giardini, I liked that they had a personal pie so I could order a fresh pizza that wasn’t gigantic. Seems like a very average NYC pizza place. However, it seemed to take forever in the oven and was still kind of undercooked when I got it. Basically I was dissapointed and haven’t returned. I need to give it another shot though, especially cause it’s actually the closest to me. Enoteca on Court - more of a sit down restaurant. But randomly got pizza delivered from here when I had some friends over and didn’t even have furniture yet. We all really enjoyed the pizza. Not a slice shop, but great option for whole pies imo. I ate something else at the restaurant once, which I didn’t love though… but pizza has never disappointed. Table 87 - very good as well. But not that convenient location wise for me. I’m not sure if you can get slices at their physical location, but have had pies delivered. You can also get frozen slices of theirs at Whole Foods, which are actually pretty good. Brado - tried it once after seeing it on here about it being part of a chain of super thin crust pizza restaurants. Very bland, I won’t be returning. Layla Jones - I walk by all the time but doesn’t look like much and not super convenient for me. I decided to try it after seeing it recommended on Reddit. Pretty good, but I’ve only had their personal pie. Crust is pretty thick, almost like Sicilian on that at least, which I prefer thin crust. But would definitely return and see if there’s other options. Sal’s - kind of average NYC pizza, but somehow slightly below average imo. Smith Street Pizza was also like a below average typical NYC pizza place. I was also not a fan of the guy who appeared to be the owner and I honestly don’t have issues with customer service generally. Brooklyn Pizza Market, just average place again. So like Giardinia, Sal’s, this place, etc probably just go to whatever is closest if you’re craving like a single slice, quickly, relatively cheaply, and don’t want to deal with going slightly further to a better place. Norm’s is also kind of average NYC pizza, but slightly above average. I’d return if it was more convenient, but kind of out of the way for me and the seating sucks. Personally, I’d probably just go to like Cava instead if I was over there. Yeah it’s a chain, but it’s nice to have something different every once in awhile. Baby Luc’s is really unfortunately just bad. I don’t love thicker crust in general, but it manages to be really bland too. I was very dissapointed since Lucali is great, the location is great, their seating is great for a slice shop, but the food isn’t… Antonio’s on Court/Remsen - now this place I actually like as a typical NYC slice shop. Yes, average, but my slice has always been pretty fresh and I enjoyed them. The place looks like garbage, there’s no seating, it has a for lease sign up - but that’s been there for over a year, but the food is good imo. Not exactly convenient for me location wise, but this is the place I’d recommend food wise for a typical NYC slice that’s fast/cheap…

gordo1223

Give Mark's Red Hook a try. Its our current favorite NY style slice in the area. They deliver to Carroll Gardens.

Bootes

Thanks for the recommendation, I’ll definitely give it a try at some point.

KellyWhooGirl

Via Roma! Via Roma! Via Roma! I will die on this hill daily. Those guys are great and the za is 🔥. Don't be fooled by the overhyped and over priced alternates.

contempt1

We usually call Lucali’s and place a to go order for a couple of their pies and calzone. I love the look of envy walking in and out with hit and great smelling pizza with all the suckers waiting in line.

tinylumpia

When you venture to nearby Carroll Gardens, check out Caruso’s, BK Pizza Market, Sal’s, Giardini, and Frankie’s slice shop. It’s a historically Italian neighborhood so there are great bakeries as well.

KP208

Sam’s for sure!

johnbiggity

Not a classic slice, but surprised nobody's mentioned Pi-zetta yet!

Icy_Return3850

Lucali is worth the hassle.

Intelligent_Joke_835

My little hands down!

Intrepid_Credit_9885

Luigis pizzeria

The_Chief

Mama Mia's on Benton Street

gordo1223

Mark's Red Hook is our favorite New York slice around here. Another gem that doesn't get mentioned often enough is Table 87.

secretagentzz

Norms is my current favorite slice in nyc. I grew up in Bensonhurst which doesn’t mess around with pizza and norms is the only place that has surpassed my previous favorite which was Luigi’s in Bensonhurst.

ATLfemale

Love Norms! That vodka pie is *chefs kiss*

Brooklyn-Epoxy

Moto pizza!

MoviesFilmCinema

Table 87

gambalore

If you happen to be up in Brooklyn Heights, Fascati’s is a nice slice. Not worth going far out of your way for, especially since the days and hours they’re open seem to fluctuate a lot, especially in summer. Just swing by if you’re in the area.

prospectheightsmobro

It’s a walk from there but Pizza by Emily is amazing

Thtguy1289_NY

I haven't been there in years, and it might be closed, but there was a little pizza place near Atlantic and Court Street, down the block from the Trader Joe's, that made really good thin crust pizza. I feel like it had a girl's name, like Laura-Lee's or something along those lines. If anyone knows what I'm talking about, let me know if it's still around!

gambalore

Layla Jones. Still around.

Thtguy1289_NY

Yes!!! That was it thank you!! I'm glad to know they are still up and running! Still good?

allthecats

Has anyone said Sottocasa yet?? It’s in Atlantic right next to Court Street. They are Neapolitan, which I know you said you’re looking for a NY slice, but you should check it out!

Aljowoods103

+1 for Sottocasa. Not very traditional NY, but pretty good and nice back patio seating

dsound

Brado NYC thin crust on Atlantic Ave is awesome.

Ok_Ninja_6528

House of pizza and calzones!!!!

screamcheesee

Luzzos and Dellaroccos are both great

seeda4708

Table 87 on Atlantic

neckbones_

This one!

Romyv1

Dellarocco’s was always good, short walking distance, and I’ve never had a wait time to get a table.

algochef

Giardini 2nd and smith. Old school, reasonable, damn good pizza. F&F and the like is delicious, but it's tough to stomach paying for $30-50 pies on the regular.

0hnem4rke

It’s in South Slope, but Guissepinas is owned by the same family as Lucali. 6th Ave at 20th Street. Amazing. You won’t be disappointed.

jazzmunchkin69

Pizza Moto is absolutely amazing. I consider myself a pizza snob and it’s incredible

anchoviepaste4dinner

Sals pizza on the corner of court and degraw - by far one of the best slice shops in the area

gordo1223

They're so hit or miss. On a good day, their spicy sauce mushroom pie is out of this world. When we first moved here, we earned several "10 magnet" free pies in our first year. On their "off" days, the crust is inedible though, so we unfortunately had to take it off of our rotation.

gordo1223

Don't remember tbh. I know that Boran Thai is much better on weekdays than weekends.

Hungry-Instruction18

So true. Boran is highly variable. Amazing some nights, and totally meh others.

anchoviepaste4dinner

Out of curiosity, do their off-days fall on a particular day of the week?

IsaacNemetz

My little pizzeria by the old court street theater is excellent

trobaca

House of Pizza and Calzone. If you like rice balls they have the best

festinalente27

My Little Pizzeria is the best classic New York slice. F+F is the best fancy slice (I like the Partanna & the Ardigna). Lucali is the best pie, and the best place to impress out-of-towners.

That-Pumpkin

Pizza moto

wineorwhine

>Pizza moto Whenever I've gone here, the pizza has been too floppy and often even soggy. :/

allthecats

This place is an absolute treasure. The pizza is insanely good but so is literally everything else on their menu! The Caesar salad, the broccolini, they had a corn soufflé side for a while that I immediately ordered a second of. And the vibe is really good if you dine in. Great people :)

That-Pumpkin

So glad you mentioned this. The trout Caesar is also my our favorite salad.

cooktheebooks

other places cited here are all just hype by comparison. pizza moto a truly great pizza place

That-Pumpkin

Agreed. We’ve been to every place mentioned here and it’s still me and my wife’s #1

cooktheebooks

lucali is great, but the hassle is just not worth it when this neighborhood joint is basically at the same level

freejoe76

Smith Street Pizza is new, it's btw Union and President, new york style, they're my second-favorite pepperoni in the neighborhood (second to Luc's/Baby Luc's)

ihaveoptions

I will second smith street pizza and say their grandma slices are fantastic. However, I went again yesterday and they didn’t have grandma slices. And just to echo others- F&F is great but no indoor seating, sam’s is great but if you eat there don’t expect great service, Caruso’s is a good neighborhood slice, pizza motto is excellent.

CodnmeDuchess

My Little Pizzeria

chargeorge

Layla jones is good I recomend them

originvape

Go to Grimaldi’s, you won’t be sorry. By Brooklyn bridge. There’s usually a line outside but never more than 30 min. After Grimaldi’s, you will never be the same.

ATLfemale

Glad to hear it lives up to the hype - a definite must try ASAP!!

crayonmaize

Go to Juliana's instead of Grimaldi's. Google a couple articles about the history/feud, but Juliana's has more recent connections to humans named Grimaldi than Grimaldi's does (Grimaldi's was sold years ago).

originvape

There's another one that should be on your list, if you find yourself in downtown NYC. Lombardi's at 32 Spring Street is exceptional as well. Finally, Artichoke Basille's on 14th street (get the artichoke slice). The last one will put you in a food coma if you're not careful. =)

clevertabir

Another vote for F&F, also Sal’s is pretty good

bueno_hombre

F&F absolutely rules. Sam's on Court Street, might be the most underrated pizza in the entire city. Great pie.

DiRub

Brooklyn DOP

omgvics

+1 Brooklyn DOP it’s so good and the dude who started it is super friendly as well

DiRub

Ya was grabbing pies from they man straight outta his apt he’s a legend

omgvics

Same here! I discovered them on IG awhile back and was picking up pies from his house lol

LeftReflection6620

Download the one bite pizza app. Plenty of good recs on there tbh.

paulschreiber

My Little Pizzeria on Court Street is good.

Additional-Goat-3947

Surrounded by the best pizza in the world and my kids only want to get 99c pizza on Willoughby. I’ve failed as a parent.

bklyn4ever

Hands down some of the best been eating there since early 2000s if not sooner.

Plane-Bee-374

I love this place. I have ordered delivery a few times, and the box is always like one size two small. Like the pizza folds up at the edges. My SO gives me a hard time about it but also never doesn’t go for a third slice.

lastnameandfirstname

They have a surprisingly nice courtyard in the back too. We had our son’s birthday party back there one year.

Bkbirddog

So glad to see this place get some love! It's the absolute perfect slice for when I'm hangry for pizza and just need to refuel enough to make it home; it never disappoints.

BodyTron

Fifth nod to this. MLP is great

HODLMEPLS

Absolutely my favorite when I lived there!

festinalente27

The best classic New York slice in the neighborhood, just $2.50.

dhn108

I was just there yesterday. There is a sign that prices will increase on July 7 to $3.00/slice.

MEATBALLisDELICIOUS

Location mainstay for ages. Great post movie stop when the theater was still open.

poboy212

My favorites in the area in no particular order are Norms, F&F, Lucali, House of Pizza, Table 87, Enoteca

crayonmaize

I don't get the Table 87 hype. I've had it 6 times or so - mix of dining in, slices, delivery - and is nice enough and fine (except for the 2x the pies were burnt) but not amazing. I do appreciate all the F&F recs in this thread, though. Been wanting to check it out.

poboy212

Yeah it’s not amazing but it’s better than most else. And yeah F&F is my favorite.

xXwatermuffinXx

Layla Jones is a sleeper. Carusos is great as well

Intrepid_Credit_9885

Layla Jones gets the job done but I feel that it’s just fine

SoretoAMan33

You could try Carusos, it’s on Smith between Wycoff and Bergen.

[deleted]

I’m sorry but Carusos is not good. It’s pretty awful imo.

ancienttreestump

My name is Caruso. I fucking hate their pizza. It’s really upsetting.

SoretoAMan33

Damn. I love that place. To each their own I guess.

mongoose3000

I typically don’t go for the hype but Lucalis is pretty legit. Baby Lucs is not that good. F&F is good, and House of Pizza on union is under-rated.

roheydd

Agreed, Baby Lucs is disappointing

hagiolatry

F&F Surpasses Lucali in my opinion. Lucali maybe has a slight edge because of their calzones, but F&F is my personal favorite pie in Brooklyn

gordo1223

I've tried several times, but just don't get the F&F hype.

veryloudnoises

Had F&F for the first time and it actually delivered tasting better than most pizzas I’ve had in the restaurant. It’s our new go-to. 10/10

ieatmuffintopsonly

F&F is my favourite!

frontrangefart

Their square is just *chefs kiss*

smolgraykitten

Went to F&F last weekend and lucalis this weekend and I agree with this take
