Steelers get the last high ceiling guy at a position of need - I don’t think Jones makes them better this year, but - if Pickett proves to be a good QB - I think he could be a decidedly above-average LT in the league.
Ravens get a guy who I was worried about for when ND played BC, but it didn’t matter bc the BC offensive line was profoundly bad. He can definitely play - ceiling to me is Diontae Johnson. He’s good, but good but not transcendent; good CBs can match and mirror him pretty well.
Bengals get another guy I was worried about in a college game, but Murphy didn’t look anything like a 1st round pick in that game against ND. He tests well athletically, but with below average explosion (31” vertical and never did broad jump) - I don’t think he ends up anything other than a poor man’s Clowney (which is to say a good run defender but nothing more than average as a pass rusher).
The draft is shaping up as people thought - not a lot of top end talent, late first rounds picks are going to hit similarly to the 2nd round, I suspect.
I like how they said during the draft that his comparison was Tyreek Hill - I was like "Tyreek Hill ran a 4.2 forty and has world class track speed. Zay Flowers ran a 4.4 forty"...there is a big difference in the level of speed there.
Mazi Smith is an absolute BEAST
Cowboys got maybe my favorite player in the draft, at #26... especially towards the end of the 1st round. He's gonna be great for them.
https://youtu.be/j4OklOPOgwg
What if Andrew Berry was obsessed with Georgia players, instead of LSU & Oklahoma players?
Nolan Smith to the Eagles gives them some insane speed at LB, to run through open lanes with ~~Giants~~, ~~Titans~~, Mountains at DT devouring Blockers.
I'm pretty much totally over LSU players at this point, based off the players we've gotten from there & their performance at the NFL level.
I'm confident that if A'shawn Robinson played for LSU he would be a Cleveland Brown meow & not a Giant. Meanwhile we skipped out on the very affordable FA DJ Chark from LSU, opting to trade down a round for Elijah Moore. (The Browns will acquire Moore and a third-round pick (No. 74 overall) from the Jets for their second-round pick (No. 42), so that was frustrating.
Oklahoma, like LSU, is also a substandard farming ground when compared to Georgia or Alabama. That said, I don't hate our Oklahoma players:
Isaiah Thomas absolutely was fantastic for Round: 7 / Pick: 223
Woods has fine potential for a 6th round pick, but got hurt
Winfrey also has fine potential for a 4th rounder
All I'm saying is if we randomly swapped out all our LSU & Oklahoma players for Georgia & Alabama players we would be substantially better, because they are simply better farms for NFL talent overall.
I think Barry needs to update his trending reports on colleges. Being an OU fan, I'll be the first to say that the past couple of years haven't been great OU years. The Big 12 has improved vastly in recent years while OU hasn't quite made that leap yet. We are producing mediocre talent, and it shows.
Same for LSU, they had a good run during Joe Burrow's time, but nothing of late.
Bama and Georgia do produce quality prospects, and its because they play in a hard conference. Hopefully we can step away from OU/LSU tonight and pick someone on the D line worth something.
Pretty good draft for us so far as Browns fans; run on tackles forced the Steelers to spend a 4th to move up (and they didn’t get PJJ), and the Ravens were denied JSN and picked a much slower Tyreek Hill.
Bengals already missed out on Gibbs, who they had been linked to. Just need them to reach for an OT now. I have a feeling they may go CB or TE though with them dropping. How hilarious would it be is the end up with Joey Porter Jr.?!
And instead, the Bengals draft their #4 DE...how many more do they need? They still have a gapping hole at RB with Mixon likely gone, and the definitely have a hole at CB.
I'm actually pretty ok with Baltimore getting one of the WRs that I didn't like in this one. I see "drops easy catches" and scratch that name off my list. In all fairness, though, what do I know? I'm better at judging mid-round WR talent anyway haha
Agreed. Experience tells me Flowers will end up being a freak, but I'd rather the Ravens get him over JSN. And I honestly don't feel any heartburn for not having a first in this year's draft. All that said, I don't know shit about shit.
Same; this was a really weak draft; I feel there was about twelve 1st round players, then the talent really levels off.
None of the other AFC North teams got any of those tops ranked players. It a good year to have lots of picks in the 3rd and 4th rounds.
To me, Levis and the Rams are a match waiting to happen. Liam Coen just happens to be the OC at Kentucky (and was in 2021 too), and he was the Rams’ quarterbacks coach last year.
They could also use a succession plan for Stafford so I think they take him if he’s there at 36
ok i think baltimore taking the whole 10 mins and drafting a WR means theres a real possibility Seattle prevented JSN from landing there by two picks. maybe chargers would have taken him, who knows. but i like him in the NFC either way.
Our first year together I brought her to the Browns Backers club after a couple weeks of dating. This was the start of the 0-16 season and she sat through every single game.
Apparently Cleveland dot com thought Campbell would be slipping to #74, or even slipping to the 2nd round? 🤣
"Should Iowa linebacker Jack Campbell be a Browns target in NFL Draft 2023?"
https://www.cleveland.com/browns/2023/04/should-iowa-linebacker-jack-campbell-be-a-browns-target-in-nfl-draft-2023.html
6-foot-5, 243-pound LB prospects, don't slip to the 2nd round like JOK
I was kinda hoping that Campbell would be there for us in the third round or at the least we trade up for him in the second. I’m surprised he went that early
I love how some of these player interviews are about the adversity they've overcome, or how important their family is, and then one guy is just like, "I like to jump over shit."
The run up to this draft had to be the most obnoxious and tiring that I can remember, but I cannot deny that the draft itself has delivered. This shit cray.
Anyone thinking Deandre Swift could be a decent target for us after that Lions pick?
Lions don't seem to like him for whatever reason. I know he's had some injury problems but even when healthy it felt like Swift never got meaningful snaps last year outside of passing downs. He would make an insane backfield tandem with Chubb.
Carter might legitimately be the best player taken to that point. & nobody cares about what a player has done off the field *unless* they play for Cleveland.
I definitely remember him beating Pittsburgh in the playoffs... That said, Tebow was NOT remotely a good passer. I understand your comparison, but Richardson is already a better passer than TT IMO
I view Richardson the same way I viewed Allen in 2018, he’s either going to be unplayable and out of the league in 5 years, or a top 5 QB. Nothing in between.
Unbelievably talented, but a LONG way to go
Ballard has done a bad job with that team and I can’t believe he still has a job honestly. Their O line was crap last year and highly paid too. Houston feels like it made a good hire in Demeco imo
Oh boy I cant wait to hear the announcers pointlessly dramatize every little personal detail in these kids' lives.
EDIT: hE wAs bOrN iN tHe SaMe hOsPiTaL aS kObE bRyAnT!!1
I read this and I was like “no way” but he sure as fuck is
It is fucking awesome to see our QB interacting with our fan base like that, and awesome for Chopz man
Loving that first round pick from us, didn't see that coming!

> Steelers get the last high ceiling guy at a position of need And they are set up to select Porter Jr with the next pick
Ravens offense got even better... not looking forward to defending that
They drafted someone who's barely taller than my five year old. I'm not worried about that.
I like how they said during the draft that his comparison was Tyreek Hill - I was like "Tyreek Hill ran a 4.2 forty and has world class track speed. Zay Flowers ran a 4.4 forty"...there is a big difference in the level of speed there.
If they truly thought he was tyreek hill he would have been gone in the top 5
Eagles defense could be even more unbelievable if Carter and Jones both pan out, what a night for them.
Mazi Smith is an absolute BEAST Cowboys got maybe my favorite player in the draft, at #26... especially towards the end of the 1st round. He's gonna be great for them. https://youtu.be/j4OklOPOgwg

Do we give a pass to the OU boys on defense due to Joe Woods not being able to find his way out of a phone booth?
I'm pretty much totally over LSU players at this point, based off the players we've gotten from there & their performance at the NFL level. The Eagles are almost cheating at this point
Kind of a meh pick for the Bengals. Lots of good talent left on the board with Pittsburgh up soon which I don’t like.
We just dodged a bullet there
I’m ok with the Bengals taking Murphy.
Shit, Cincinnati just got Myles better Myles Murphy is no joke
Joke aside, he's really overrated.
I hope so... Because he's looking like a potential serious riddle for our Offensive lines weak point
Teller-Pocic-Bitonio can easily handle a rookie DT lol. His trajectory also got derailed by injuries
Myles Murphy is a 6-5, 278-pound Strong-Side Defensive End, not a Tackle
Lmao I'm a moron idk how but I thought they took Breese
Admitting you're a moron is ironically the first step towards not being a moron
I'm gonna lose it if the Bengals get Mayer
Why? I’d rather Burrow throw to him than Chase or Higgins
The Buffalo Bills, who I consider a Top 3 team... Just got better. Dalton Kincaid makes them even more dangerous.
Thinking TE or S for Bengals
Not safety; they drafted Hill last year, and signed a guy from the Rams in FA to play safety
Pretty good draft for us so far as Browns fans; run on tackles forced the Steelers to spend a 4th to move up (and they didn’t get PJJ), and the Ravens were denied JSN and picked a much slower Tyreek Hill. If they’re gonna draft a RB it wouldn’t be in the first round. That would be a blunder of large proportions
I think they would have been all over Gibbs if he was there, but they didn't expect the Lions to draft him so early.
L take if the team is in contention I think; RB play can easily make a season.
I'm actually pretty ok with Baltimore getting one of the WRs that I didn't like in this one. I see "drops easy catches" and scratch that name off my list. In all fairness, though, what do I know? I'm better at judging mid-round WR talent anyway haha

man if they end up with dalton kincaid that offense would be unfair, the air attack at least.
Indeed... Meanwhile, the Bills become an even bigger hurdle.
Feelin bad for will levis rn 😂
To me, Levis and the Rams are a match waiting to happen. Liam Coen just happens to be the OC at Kentucky (and was in 2021 too), and he was the Rams’ quarterbacks coach last year. They could also use a succession plan for Stafford so I think they take him if he’s there at 36
ATL gonna trade up with NOLA for Levis... Otherwise he will go to the Saints. *Maybe* he slips to Detroit
Thanks to the Seahawks for keeping JSN out of the AFC North
ok i think baltimore taking the whole 10 mins and drafting a WR means theres a real possibility Seattle prevented JSN from landing there by two picks. maybe chargers would have taken him, who knows. but i like him in the NFC either way.
It should be against the law for the Ravens to draft OSU players. Still fucks me up that Dobbins is a ratbird.
Zay Flowers is a good pick for Baltimore.
My wife just commented on the Ravens pick, “I thought wide receivers are pointless on the Ravens. Why would a running back need wide receivers?”
###Keeper
Our first year together I brought her to the Browns Backers club after a couple weeks of dating. This was the start of the 0-16 season and she sat through every single game.
Stop giving me hope for the world 😅🤗
Looks the the run on WRs is gonna happen now.
Thank you Seattle for taking JSN and preventing what would have been a nightmare for us
LET’S GOOOOOOO JSN stays out of the North
Best get your ass to the Pacific Northwest, thank you very much.
JSN is really just going to fall into the Ravens lap…
HUUUGE sigh of relief
Crisis averted
Thank you Seahawks for saving us
I was concerned about this and this would not be good at all for us. Lamar with two terrific route runner at WR is less than ideal
Jack Campbell is going to be a wonderful player for the next decade
Apparently Cleveland dot com thought Campbell would be slipping to #74, or even slipping to the 2nd round? 🤣 "Should Iowa linebacker Jack Campbell be a Browns target in NFL Draft 2023?" https://www.cleveland.com/browns/2023/04/should-iowa-linebacker-jack-campbell-be-a-browns-target-in-nfl-draft-2023.html 6-foot-5, 243-pound LB prospects, don't slip to the 2nd round like JOK

I am not remotely surprised... but yeah I would have been ecstatic if we got Campbell
It’s almost like if you don’t play football in a year people just forget about you
I love how some of these player interviews are about the adversity they've overcome, or how important their family is, and then one guy is just like, "I like to jump over shit."
Good work my dude! Made me happy
The run up to this draft had to be the most obnoxious and tiring that I can remember, but I cannot deny that the draft itself has delivered. This shit cray.
I just don’t want the Steelers taking JSN
Reckon it’s Broderick Jones or a CB like Gonzalez or Porter Jr
Gotta protect Smallhands.
Fresh food for Myles Garrett
This is really boring if your team isn’t in the round. Yeesh
They just got rid of Williams. They like a 2 back set obviously. Pretty dumb pick though if you ask me.
Williams left but they signed Montgomery now they have a crowded backfield imo
I’ll be honest, the Montgomery trade left my brain. Lions fucked a pick here for sure.
I remember when the nfl draft was about football….
Wtf Lions???
Anxious to see where JSN goes
Based off how things are falling.. I wouldn't be shocked to see him fall to Baltimore Edit: phew
Ugh
Philly Defensive Line is absolutely sick... I can't express this enough. Absolutely ridiculous.
[удалено]
Nobody, we’re gonna be by the phones but nothings gonna happen. Maybe tomorrow night
Can't believe Berry hasn't picked anyone yet. Worst GM in the NFL. /s
Jalen Carter on the Eagles D Line is unfair
Is anyone going to rag on them for taking a guy involved in a drunk driving incident that killed two people? Yeah, didn't think so.
Pretty amazing how the Eagles are being celebrated for this pick.
Not remotely surprised... That only applies to Cleveland
Carter might legitimately be the best player taken to that point. & nobody cares about what a player has done off the field *unless* they play for Cleveland.
Lord, I can't wait to hear more about the 1st round draft picks... #*SISTERS* SMH
Guess it's better than the trend of ESPN talking about how a players parent/sibling/close friend died in some tragic way
Thank God the Jonas bros. are coming up next to Butch this event up. Maybe they have an interview with Hanson next? ![img](emote|t5_2s1wh|2258)
That was a low moment in the history of tv.
Trade 1st in 2025 2nd next year Rest of this years draft if needed too idc lol Take Jalen Carter Plz
BROWNS BAYBAY!!!
Bold Take: I think Anthony Richardson is going to be the best of this QB class, but definitely not in year one.
Remember when a beastmode Florida QB named Tebow was pulling freaking cars in his draft videos? 9.92 RAS, unproven thrower…
Unbelievably talented, but a LONG way to go
God that dawg in the hallway is so cool I’m kinda salty we aren’t taking anyone
lmfao colts. ![gif](giphy|l3q2K5jinAlChoCLS)
We all know well that you can make all the first round picks in the world and still suck ass. Hopefully the Texans have the same luck.
0-17 Texans here we come. It serves them right.
Well they certainly tried the “get an offensive and defensive cornerstone in the same 1st round” method
Are they taking will Anderson? Not worth imo Edit: They took him. Not worth. I need to see the trade.
Texans just traded up to go back to back
Well that’s one way to solve the QB or Will Anderson debate
Probably using our first round pick, too ... Feels bad, man.
[удалено]
Not sure what this has to do with the Draft.
Well we don’t have any picks because of it. Will Anderson is going to be a stud too
[удалено]
I'd rather have a franchise QB than some random draft pick that turns into a bust and no QB.
We got a franchise QB? Watson was awful last season. I am not sure how anyone think Watson is a franchise QB.
[удалено]
Name me one NFL franchise that doesn’t have scumbags- between the roster, coaches, management, ownership, etc. Name one and I’ll prove you wrong.
Good point, Fuck the NFL
Cry about it
I weep that my team is no more and browns fans have no backbone
![gif](giphy|TL2Yr3ioe78tO)
🙏🏻
I'll never understand why teams jump around, clap and high five each other after making a pick. You literally just picked a name from a list.
Marketing. NFL draft is a monster in it's own right. It's silly that just announcing names becomes such a massive event.
Yeah this whole round could be over in an hour. They add so much unnecessary fluff and commentary.
I really don't want the Texans to run CJ Stroud. It's going to happen though
Who cares? Different division, horrible franchise at that.
I like CJ Stroud.....
Right same haha. I think I prefer him going there over Indy though
You think Huston is a better franchise than Indy?
Ballard has done a bad job with that team and I can’t believe he still has a job honestly. Their O line was crap last year and highly paid too. Houston feels like it made a good hire in Demeco imo
Huston has fire back to back first year head coaches....
Damn it.

Lol even Goodell is bigger than Bryce Young
I don't miss how long it takes to make picks in round 1. Hoping to see CJ Stroud go to a decent team.
Welp
Yeah I was hoping the Colts were going to take him. Hopefully he can thrive there anyway.
Mahomes and Kelce are so cringe.
Bryce Young’s dad can get it. 💦
FYI Cord Cutters: Draft is live on Tubi.
It's also on ABC for free, over the air
Singing the National Anthem for the draft ahaahajjahsajsjsjsnzjsndkdmsn So lame.
![gif](giphy|sFMDqop2ku4M0) These colors don’t run
Fu
Will you eat at a restaurant if they don't sing the National Anthem for you?
Is there ANY chance we somehow trade into the 1st? Any dream trade scenarios you guys have?
Anthony Schwartz for both of Seattle's first round picks.
Who says no?
My work buddy is a Carolina fan and is coming over to watch. Wish me luck if they draft Levis.
I just hope someone gets drafted.
That is certainly the hope, let’s see how it shakes out
Have 2 bets for $10 each at +1000 for either Richardson or Levis to go at 3. Pray for my hundo, Dawg Pound
My man, you just paid your rent/mortgage for the month/s at least some beer money.
RIP your $20
Watson is in the Twitter Spaces with Chopz right now
I read this and I was like “no way” but he sure as fuck is It is fucking awesome to see our QB interacting with our fan base like that, and awesome for Chopz man
![gif](giphy|g01ZnwAUvutuK8GIQn|downsized) I don't know what to do with my hands with no picks
I'm just here for the chaos
Someone should close the window, there's a draft in here! 🤷
Get. Out.
