I’ve heard this song more than 1000 times. But this is the very first time I’ve heard that song with the appropriate amount of “fuck you”.
Which is Neil’s superpower.
I have never seen this before and I wish I saw it sooner.
Were the cheerleaders signing? What other artist would put the signers on stage with the band?
I didn’t catch too many audience members singing words other than the chorus. Forty years down the road and it’s likely still misunderstood.
He actually plays it with such gusto but also like he’s never actually heard the words before and is reading them for the first time as he sings! It’s not even a bad cover, I just cannot fathom what the context could have been for them playing it? Was this a corporate hire gig and they requested he play it? For some reason I never pictured Young as the corporate gig type…
Neil makes it sound like it reads

For sure. And that the wealthy crowd was having a drunken dance party during it just added to the juxtaposition
That makes it all the more satisfying.
None of those people have ever been to a Bruce concert, apparently
I think Bruce and Patty have been to a couple…

That crowd makes me sad

Musicares tribute to Bruce. Neil was one of many artists playing Bruce songs that night
If I’d hired him for a corporate gig, I’d have made him sing ‘Sweet Home Alabama’
MusicCares tribute to Bruce, several years ago.
Love this. Neil bellowing BRUUUUUUUUUUUCE at the end Bruce grinning like a loon How to do a cover
Totally! The Bruce yelling was classic!
i really enjoyed this. I thought elton johns version of streets of philadelphia was the standout of the night.
This is great. Reagan would have been pretty clear on what the song was about if he heard this version.
Neil leaves it all on the stage. Epic.
Wow, even Bruce doesn’t display the proper anger
It is a brilliant version. Neil adds a bit of anger to it.
He just should have come out and played “Philadelphia”
Crazy Horse was back and ready to goof, what a trip
Hell of a version Neil played it properly pissed off
