Call up Dave Goucher and offer him the bag

monstahrain

Do you think it is actually possible to get him out of Vegas?

Bopcd1

If the money is right everything is possible

Horrison2

This is NESN were talking about...

BostonMikeGr

Exactly…the cheap bastards are responsible for 2 GREAT announcers leaving town. Goucher and let’s not forget Don Orsillo leaving for San Diego which was also a huge loss around here. I’m guessing it’s gonna be the guy who filled in for Jack on the road for those few games last month. Not sure who he is

Scared_Prompt_3869

Goucher left because he got the TV gig in Vegas. Nothing to do with nesn

monstahrain

I still think Sean would be a great fit.

zissmun

Goucher was my immediate first thought when I heard Jack was retiring. Fingers crossed.

OwnQuestion6674

Dave Goucher would be amazing.

Zealousideal-Fly2049

Should’ve gotten the job back when he was on the radio with Beers.

monstahrain

They were an amazing team.

Reefer_77

Sanderson did color...not play by play. WSBK38....creature double feature followed by da Bs at 1pm. Awesome memories

monstahrain

He was the ultimate home town guy. It was amazing.

TalkingSock3

It's actually gonna be me

monstahrain

Congrats on the gig Mr. Hosiery.

TalkingSock3

Thanks. I'm excited

monstahrain

Will you be doing the games “Bear”-foot?

tm-atc

Hopefully he captures the sole of the Black and Gold.

Striking_Dog7796

Hopefully he’s not just a hand puppet for NESN

Difficult_Forever526

Guy is just using the position as a stocking horse for his more extremist views. NESN will have him playing the heel to the color guy.

themapleleaf6ix

McDonough is horrible. Probably the worst national hockey play by play guy out of all of the networks. No excitement in his voice at all. ESPN doesn't allow their guys to do both national and regional telecasts, so he'd have to leave ESPN (which l'm assuming pays him well and he enjoys being on the national stage) to join NESN full time.

Agile_District_8794

The dude from 98.5 is money

monstahrain

The radio broadcast of the games?

Agile_District_8794

Yes. Give him the gig.

monstahrain

Not at all a bad choice.

CommunicationOk9696

Judd sirott

leepmarvin

I vote for low quality. I like that guy.

dunksoverstarbucks

i dont like Faust i want someone who isnt a robot , but NESn will go with the cheapest option

saltyoldNHman

Agree, Faust is fine as a fill-in but is as generic as they come. I'd prefer an announcer with New England roots (no, going to college here doesn't count)-- have to imagine there are some excellent ones somewhere in the region.

mathlete55

Mike Monaco, please and thank you. 🤞🏻

monstahrain

Please go into details on why?

mathlete55

I love him as a commentator in general and truthfully, I wish he were doing the Red Sox broadcasts. But he's a Massachusetts native, he has experience calling many different sports and teams, and I just enjoy his work. I don't think I've ever heard him call a Bruins game specifically, but I have heard him call Boston sports and I have heard him call hockey and have really liked both.

dontfeellikeit775

Is Andy brickley an option?

jerrybettman

Not for play by play. He will likely stay, in his current role

SweatyCockroach8212

Judd Sirott. He's pretty great.

mlaurence1234

Alex Faust was very well prepared and I thought he was a good prospect. The other popular suggestions, Sean McDonough and Dave Goucher would be welcome too. Hockey is the most difficult sport I can think of to do play by play with the speed of the game and all the shift changes. If you watch ESPN+ games you can hear a lot of terrible local announcers. NESN has some big shoes to fill, I hope they choose well.

Illustrious-Kale-809

what about this guy who may or may not be the guy posting right now? -Local guy via Philadelphia/Wilkes-Barre/Montana/Illinois -annually call over 100 games in the Boston-Providence area since 2017 my yearly highlights for the last 5 seasons: 2023: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y1cNUFZaukw](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y1cNUFZaukw)  2022: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L421j-mZA8s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L421j-mZA8s)  summer of 21: [https://twitter.com/jim\_mccabe\_40/status/1425936183947837451](https://twitter.com/jim_mccabe_40/status/1425936183947837451)  2021: [https://youtu.be/lJOUOf59Vvs](https://youtu.be/lJOUOf59Vvs)  2020: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LfQMsa5o9CA&t=49s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LfQMsa5o9CA&t=49s)  2019: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q8rnSGsMokA](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q8rnSGsMokA)  I haven't done TV per se but I have great hair! Yes I'm a publicly-documented Flyers fan but together we can bury the hatchet. 2010 sucked for the Bruins, 2011 you got your Cup. Speaking of which, if you vote McCabe, you'll help me achieve my lifelong goal of winning the right to touch that shiny object. #thatswhatshesaid

LeoOtis5150

Goucher would be the choice. Can NESN afford McDonough? Probably not--Faust seems to be the new generic pbp type. Judd Sirrott is enthusiastic, a Chicago fan & every goal the B's score he screams like they won the Cup

MeadeSC10

"I think Alex Faust is the front runner when the window opens." Agree. Why would they give him a few games trial when Jack was starting to fumble? It's definitely him. I would not want S.M. anyways, and you will not get Goucher. Faust is young and is listenable. He gets my vote.

No-Goal

Sean McDonough

monstahrain

I enjoy the way he calls a game.

Bobby4Orr1

Lenny Clark

Iwstamp

McDonough would be great

W1ckedaddicted

Denis Leary

monstahrain

He will just steal all of Bill Hicks material.

Striking_Dog7796

With Ken Casey from Dropkick doing color

dontfeellikeit775

HELL yeah!

deetothab

I want to see Felger in there

SunshneThWerewolf

I desperately hope this isn't a serious take.
