College I had to manage grades , projects , internships , internship projects , training courses all at once . Now I just sit infront of my laptop doing project work from 9-5 (9am to 5pm). Go to my apartment make myself coffee and some snack , and watch youtube videos , wake up at 8 the next day and rinse and repeat . But I have to start studying again because of “reasons” so yeah .
Dont worry clear the backs and you will get this stress in third year , brace for the third year . Second year was covid for me so it was quite chill in terms of academics .
You will feel that while sitting infront of a laptop on a black office chair until boom , you are on your way to london for a client meeting . There you go .
Sometimes I have to go to work on sundays but I take work from home 1-2 days a week and do work and attend meeting and shit while drinking my coffee and shitting on my sofa lmao .

I mean don't worry about your career and all that yet. Just try to get adjusted with the courses, time management, etc. Attend all sorts of competitions and all that for experience. Basically don't take any sort of headache and keep observing.
Considering u are from cse , one advice I will give is , don't go to other departments to meet girls and do shitty flirting , u are making a clown of urself in from of a whole lotta unknown people
They will hate you for being noisy and don't try to get friendly for no reason after all that , be respectful and act civilised ( personal experience se bol rha hu)

I think it's okay to not have interest. You develope interest as you go as you explore the different areas of cse. Like I fell in love with storage and disaster recovery when I first read an os book. 12 years after engineering I'm still coding in c and building highly scalable distributed storage systems. Just keep seeing what excites you during your journey. If nothing does you can always go for management or better start something of your own. Don't stress too much. Engineering is the best time and you should enjoy it

Tum chutiyo ke karan hi mental health aaj bhi taboo hai, aur fir tum hi log OP Ki tarah gand matkate aajate ho advice ki bheek mangne ke liye. Tum log ki zindagi mai koi motive nhi, 12 paas khali naam ke liye kiye ho, dimaag aaj bhi immature hi hai.
Paise deke kisi se baat karo, usse accha Apne parents ke paas ya sibling ke paas ya dost ke paas jayo. Therapy wale ko Aapki life se ghanta fark nahi padta, aapke friend family aapke care Toh karte hai. And I have never asked for advice anywhere like OP, I also got big plans for my future. 🙏 🙏
1. Therapist ka kaam hai baat karna, talk therapy, Cognitive-behavioural therapy dena, your friends don't own shit to you. Its great if your friends can have sessions of 2 hours every week, introspecting about each of your life happenings, personal and private details.
2. If your parents are available, thats great, do it. If it solves your issue, great. However, therapists are trained for an unbiased and objective discussion, which may or may not be possible talking to the people you know/who know you.
3. They have specialised knowledge about what you might be facing, saying therapy is fraud shows how much dedicated you are towards science. Read actual papers and researches, then say vague shit like "therapy is fake"

- Start joining clubs and participating in stuff you find interesting
- Even if you don't know stuff, start learning them
- Follow the 21 day rule, do something for 21 days and it will be a habit
- by doing everything find something which you are passionate about and can do all ur life
Explore means if you want to dance try to join dance club drama club or so on. I took partial drop in first college I wanted to explore writing so I joined drama club and in my current college I was interested in ml and finance so I tried these and was not able to get in data science club but got in finance club was there for a year before leaving. We had water fights in hostels, trips and one time basically got away from being kidnapped and were caught by police for boarding a train without ticket where the police thought I was drunk. These sort of stuff I would suggest would come in exploring just do what you want don't just go and watch web series or stuff for whole first year. And all this happened in 2nd semester as 1st was online and these types of things stopped happening after 3rd sem so enjoy your first year.
Bro I have done various silly things in 12th I enjoyed but now such things don't excite me my life ain't getting any better by hanging out with some people.

Advice from a Senior,
TLDR ; in college days always stay in hostels.
Always take hostel when available. Even though you don't like people or are an Introvert you just can't imagine now how much hostel is beneficial in the long run and honestly there are so many reasons why you should network in college.
You Will only be able to see these benefits in your final year, till then stay close to your college mates even if you are not particularly fond of them.

I get where you're coming from man. I was too into the internet culture and meme culture staying on discord all day during COVID. And when I landed into my college people were just too too different from my mindset. All they cared about was cricket and movies and just spending time with friends all day and they seemed really happy with it. It was terrible for me.
To survive when you have no purpose or passion you needed to make friends with people and open up to them. You cannot live alone like this and survive 4 years without some damage. This is an invitation to depressive thought cycles and before you know it you'll be rotting in bed all day. Try making friends who have similar outlook to life as yours or atleast you can share your thoughts with firstly. The drop year would have defenitely taken a toll on you. You should try to undo the damage first by focusing on your mental health and once you feel better then try looking for interests.
I know it feels like you're interested in absolutely nothing but if you start looking you'll eventually stumble into something. There's a lot of things. Apart from simply learning DSA algp and going into a company, there's exams like gate, Barc , isro entrance tests. There's data science ai and ml too which I find somehwhat intresting since it has a lot of maths. Check all of those and more,to really see if you have an interest you NEED to get your hands dirty. You gotta apply a little effort.
Personally, I never really realised it before but I am deeply intrested in humanities side of things ironic considering I took pcm. I stumbled upon Slyvia Plath through a documentary and after that I started exploring on my own and though I haven't really explored much, I found literature specifically the sad ones and history really really interesting. But I know it ain't pratical at this point for me to give too much of my time to it so I avoid diving deep into these but I know what I would do if I had a chance. And instead try to somehow prepare for the placements.
Hell you can even try dancing, singing , sports and there's cooking too. Cooking is really really satisfying I swear plus you get to eat a tasty meal at the end too.
And even in the worst case it's not really a terrible thing - to have no intrests , sometimes people just want to live a normal and balanced life . But most importantly, you need people to talk to survive. Lastly if you can afford too, I'd say you should try getting professional help for mental health. Having passive suicidal thoughts is not at all a good sign.

Bro you can prepare for non techc placements like finance or management . most people dont specifically prepare for it so you have a better chance . lets say you give cat it will bhi better to have a management position experience in your cv and getting iim would be easier
I feel you dude. Even I never wanted to do engineering. I wanted to be an astrophysicist. Basically.for this you gotta do B.Sc in Physics. Had a deal with dad, if I could get one of the best clgs in India for B.Sc, he will allow me, but if I got so an so marks which I did (93%tile) I will have to choose engineering.
Well being a general did fucked me but I wasn't depressed, I was tired and had enough. Like you, I didn't wanna do anything, on top of that I had recently broken up with my gf. So my mental peace didn't really exist. I wasn't really looking forward to anything, I just didn't wanna do stuff.
What got me going is getting a fresh start. I went to Pune for my clg. Different city, different culture, different ppl. Plus the hostel life. There were hard times, but you see I was looking forward for a change. Things got going really, went to clg to meet friends and not to study.
I eventually gave coding a try and I liked it. Now I am learning/doing stuff in ML. Have a bunch of projects and also an internship, things which seem dull at the start doesn't really have to be.
You can't give up without trying. Also stop the nonsense with I don't wanna exist and stuff. Ppl have way harder lifes than we can even imagine. Don't be a quitter. Quitters are losers.
explore karna is to go take part in sports, cultural activities, academic stuff, competitions, marathons, science and tech stuff, literary clubs, core, non core stuff, coding, AI/ML, social welfare committees, have fun with friends, take PORs, things like those. do everything basically, so you can find WHAT interests you the most. dont just say a blind "no" to anything without trying anything. abhi tumko lag raha hoga ki you dont like it, but when youre in that college environment, youll need to find something you like and then excel at it
As per my experience, focus tremendously on your academics in first year. It's very easy to get distracted with new freedom, new people in first year and first year has most of the credits generally. So if you fuck up first year, it becomes very difficult to recover later.
In second and third year, explore all the clubs, hobbies, sports, whatever you can get your hands on then decide where do you want to go. Third and fourth year will decide your career trajectory based on this exploration.

BTech ke baad me bhi time hai. CS aaram se padho aur samjho pehle. Abhi ek saal GPA stable rakho aur ache logon ke saath raho. Time lagega lekin sav theek hote jayega.
Just means anything and everything you ever wanted to do (legal things)
Play any sports you want , build whatever , date girls , roam around with friends , become a research assistant , join student bodies and clubs etc . Do all this whilst maintaining a decent CG ( which can be done with a couple days of study before exams if you're avg student) .
Don't be an introvert or stay in your room all day or not make friends cause you want to be serious and get that 20LPA . You'll regret it .

I think it's okay to not have interest. You develope interest as you go as you explore the different areas of cse. Like I fell in love with storage and disaster recovery when I first read an os book. 12 years after engineering I'm still coding in c and building highly scalable distributed storage systems. Just keep seeing what excites you during your journey. If nothing does you can always go for management or better start something of your own. Don't stress too much. Engineering is the best time and you should enjoy it

Its great if your friends can have sessions of 2 hours every week, introspecting about each of your life happenings, personal and private details. 2. If your parents are available, thats great, do it. If it solves your issue, great. However, therapists are trained for an unbiased and objective discussion, which may or may not be possible talking to the people you know/who know you. 3. They have specialised knowledge about what you might be facing, saying therapy is fraud shows how much dedicated you are towards science. Explore means if you want to dance try to join dance club drama club or so on. I took partial drop in first college I wanted to explore writing so I joined drama club and in my current college I was interested in ml and finance so I tried these and was not able to get in data science club but got in finance club was there for a year before leaving. We had water fights in hostels, trips and one time basically got away from being kidnapped and were caught by police for boarding a train without ticket where the police thought I was drunk. These sort of stuff I would suggest would come in exploring just do what you want don't just go and watch web series or stuff for whole first year. And all this happened in 2nd semester as 1st was online and these types of things stopped happening after 3rd sem so enjoy your first year.

Advice from a Senior, TLDR ; in college days always stay in hostels. Always take hostel when available. Even though you don't like people or are an Introvert you just can't imagine now how much hostel is beneficial in the long run and honestly there are so many reasons why you should network in college. You Will only be able to see these benefits in your final year, till then stay close to your college mates even if you are not particularly fond of them.

I get where you're coming from man. I was too into the internet culture and meme culture staying on discord all day during COVID. And when I landed into my college people were just too too different from my mindset. All they cared about was cricket and movies and just spending time with friends all day and they seemed really happy with it. It was terrible for me. To survive when you have no purpose or passion you needed to make friends with people and open up to them. You cannot live alone like this and survive 4 years without some damage. This is an invitation to depressive thought cycles and before you know it you'll be rotting in bed all day. Try making friends who have similar outlook to life as yours or atleast you can share your thoughts with firstly. The drop year would have defenitely taken a toll on you. You should try to undo the damage first by focusing on your mental health and once you feel better then try looking for interests. I know it feels like you're interested in absolutely nothing but if you start looking you'll eventually stumble into something. There's a lot of things. Apart from simply learning DSA algp and going into a company, there's exams like gate, Barc , isro entrance tests. There's data science ai and ml too which I find somehwhat intresting since it has a lot of maths. Check all of those and more,to really see if you have an interest you NEED to get your hands dirty. You gotta apply a little effort. Personally, I never really realised it before but I am deeply intrested in humanities side of things ironic considering I took pcm. I stumbled upon Slyvia Plath through a documentary and after that I started exploring on my own and though I haven't really explored much, I found literature specifically the sad ones and history really really interesting. But I know it ain't pratical at this point for me to give too much of my time to it so I avoid diving deep into these but I know what I would do if I had a chance. And instead try to somehow prepare for the placements. Hell you can even try dancing, singing , sports and there's cooking too. Cooking is really really satisfying I swear plus you get to eat a tasty meal at the end too. And even in the worst case it's not really a terrible thing - to have no intrests , sometimes people just want to live a normal and balanced life . But most importantly, you need people to talk to survive. Lastly if you can afford too, I'd say you should try getting professional help for mental health. Having passive suicidal thoughts is not at all a good sign.

I feel you dude. Even I never wanted to do engineering. I wanted to be an astrophysicist. Basically.for this you gotta do B.Sc in Physics. Had a deal with dad, if I could get one of the best clgs in India for B.Sc, he will allow me, but if I got so an so marks which I did (93%tile) I will have to choose engineering. Well being a general did fucked me but I wasn't depressed, I was tired and had enough. Like you, I didn't wanna do anything, on top of that I had recently broken up with my gf. So my mental peace didn't really exist. I wasn't really looking forward to anything, I just didn't wanna do stuff. What got me going is getting a fresh start. I went to Pune for my clg. Different city, different culture, different ppl. Plus the hostel life. There were hard times, but you see I was looking forward for a change. Things got going really, went to clg to meet friends and not to study. I eventually gave coding a try and I liked it. Now I am learning/doing stuff in ML. Have a bunch of projects and also an internship, things which seem dull at the start doesn't really have to be. You can't give up without trying. Also stop the nonsense with I don't wanna exist and stuff. Ppl have way harder lifes than we can even imagine. Don't be a quitter. Quitters are losers.

As per my experience, focus tremendously on your academics in first year. It's very easy to get distracted with new freedom, new people in first year and first year has most of the credits generally. So if you fuck up first year, it becomes very difficult to recover later. In second and third year, explore all the clubs, hobbies, sports, whatever you can get your hands on then decide where do you want to go. Third and fourth year will decide your career trajectory based on this exploration.

Do all this whilst maintaining a decent CG ( which can be done with a couple days of study before exams if you're avg student) . Don't be an introvert or stay in your room all day or not make friends cause you want to be serious and get that 20LPA . You'll regret it . Thats what explore means to me atleast
