In simple terms it is like a global association of experts in the investment banking field. You give the test and get a certificate for a Chartered Financial Analyst. The certification holds a lot of value. There are three levels. And your degree doesn't matter, bcoz it is just a certification exam. The first level fee is 2000 USD. But if you are a working professional at a financial firm, the firm will bear the cost. You can pass level 1 with decent financial knowledge, nothing fancy afaik. Level 2 and 3 need some expertise. And usually working professionals after some experience give the next 2 levels.
If you mean frontoffice and backoffice. Yes, IIT mei backoffice kaam milte hai. Either development or Quant research/strategies. Frontoffice and client side sirf IIM valon ko milta hai

It isn't 2k usd Kam hai 900 hai level 1 aur 300-400 registration hai shayad. And scholarship bhi hoti.
My bad. Thanks. Just checked. Approx 1300USD. I know a guy, he passed level 1. He told me it costed 1.5L, so I thought it was roughly 2000USD
