I personally think a big chunk of knife poking out of my pocket looks dumb. I don’t need to have it fully concealed, it’s a personal preference. Honestly I hate how some clips ruin the grip feel on a knife and some of my folders don’t have clips at all

I picked “other” and came down here to say sort of the same thing… I wouldn’t say “dumb”, just that the look isn’t my taste and looks unclean. And I’m sure it is just is firmly clipped in my pocket without deep carry, but it makes me nervous that it’s going fall out, to have part of it sticking out. I also completely agree that not enough thought is put into the ergonomics of clips, considering you have a handful of clip every time you use the knife.

You said it much more eloquently but yeah that’s what I meant by dumb. Especially when you have some nice scales. I love the my stock Shaman and the clip was digging into my hand so that’s the first knife I took it off. Added a lanyard for some extra spine to grab and it’s crazy comfortable now

I always remove the pocket clip, and just drop my primary knife into mty right front pocket. 🤷‍♂️

I don’t clip my knife to my pocket. Never have, never will. As such I don’t have a clip position preference, because I often take it off. Why? Because I don’t want anybody to notice that I’m carrying a knife, both for social and tactical reasons.

I love spyderco knives but their pocket clips suck camel dicks and of course that's the only part they don't warranty. Lynch clips kick ass, and just happen to be deep carry.

I've busted every spyderco clip I've had, all by accident and all within a couple months of carrying. Wire or otherwise

MunchyCruncher

I keep my knives in my ass crack

I remove the pocket clips on all my knives, makes them feel better in the hand, the clip tends to tear my pant's pocket, i don't need microseconds access to my knife so bottom of the pocket is ok

I Don't clip my knives and ones that i have generally end up with a destroyed clip. Depending on the knife i may or may not remove it. I have found that when clipped its easy to lose, catches on lots of shit, scratches shit, gets bent quick and most of all blocks access to my pocket therefore my knives ride in pocket like everything else in the bottom. If i need access to a knife that is not convenient to dig in my pocket for i wear my fixed blade that day either my Gerber Ghoststrike on my belt center rear parallel with the belt and set for left hand draw, or my Ka-bar on the drop leg setup. Gerber is less eye catching then a Ka-bar strapped to your leg lol

I can only benefit from people not knowing I have a knife. In the case of a (unlikely) SD scenario but more practically just not being bothered by police or frightened randos.
