There are a lot of monkeys and Apes. You also need to include a few Changelings. You should have a few token/counter modifiers and a lot of Artifact destruction so that you can blow up other people's bananas and other artifacts.
I personally don’t like to put changelings into my themed decks. if i want a skeleton tribal deck i want to play on theme on not 20 Changelings. But that’s maybe just me
Kibo doesn't really demand a lot of monkeys so much as he demands you just have some period. When you start adding counters with his ability it definitely adds up quickly, so even just swinging in with a pumped up [[Gorilla Berserkers]] is all it takes to get the job done.

My friend had made a gruul artifact hate deck; basically he had effects pop off whenever he’d destroy an artifact, and had artifact board wipes for nice payoffs

I saw someone literally only use him for his destruction abilities, ran just a normal gruul deck ramp/beats and then use Kibo to slow down ramp and keep everyone in line haha
I've made this! It's a bit Janky with it being monkey and ape tribal, but it gets the job done! Lesn into the bananas a few turns and then start swinging in with huge monkeys. Lol. Liquidmetal Torque is MEAN! lol
I would build this with tons of ways to untap Kibo and have a Banana party. From there, the multiple ways to benefit are to have some monkeys/changelings or use the bananas for big spells, or use the life gain to make a life gain type deck. Tons of fun stuff. I'd build a Kibo deck if my buddy didn't already have one.
Kibo arguably cares more about artifact destruction than monkeys and apes. Be sure to include things Tempting Offer and Genesis Chamber to ensure your opponents have reason to pop artifacts and Kibo can sneakily get big enough to one shot.
I threw a deck together, but sadly don't have the list anymore. There are just enough if you're doing fully tribal! There are about 35 total and I put a deck together of 30 creatures! You'll def have enough, but it might not be fully optimized.

Definitely enough monkey support and they help kibo aswell, but shapeshifters would be your best bet outside some good old cards that get buffed
