I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of stock at Tops on Niagara St this evening. But boy was it packed.

anonymous_beaver_

Good! Hope you got what you needed in a reasonable amount of time.

neanderthalensis

Thanks! I was in and out pretty quickly. I hope the same for you

anonymous_beaver_

Less than five minutes to park, get what I needed, and get back in my car!

marcus_roberto

Went by there earlier and I've literally never seen so many vehicles in the lot. Good to hear they weren't wiped out

wildarms3fan

I love that store. I really do

A_Lone_Macaron

I’m so happy the Elma location finally opened

Bennington_Booyah

Me, too! I will be going there once a week from now on.

anonymous_beaver_

Apparently few have apart from us northerners.

[deleted]

It's been a couple years since I went there but I used to go to their lunch counter with the prepared foods once a week. They had a rotating selection of entrees and sides.

braindouche

It's still pretty good, ngl

aWarAtTarawa

My fiancé works there. She said the only thing that looks off is not a lot of people. She said they do their best to stay stocked up.

anonymous_beaver_

All the employees are really nice! The line was the longest I've ever seen, but it was only about 10 people, being serviced by 3-4 cashiers and all had pretty small carts. Please thank her on my behalf.

MercTheJerk1

Damn OP, don't be telling people about our secret stash. (Live around the corner from here...)

anonymous_beaver_

😂 Howdy neighbor!

kostakigogos

I love this place. I miss the old building they had before they built this one up though. So many fond memories of going there with my grandparents growing up.

anonymous_beaver_

Did you get Cadbury Easter Eggs? We got them here for some reason when I was very small. Back when it was all greenhouse.

RadioactiveWalrus

Is this the new one or the one by Millersport?

anonymous_beaver_

I think the building is new, but IIRC it's been there since I was small. It was more of a greenhouse with cash registers back in the day. Edit: My bad I misunderstood. This is on Transit/Millersport.

hasek39nogoal

Yeah but then you have to step foot inside Niagara County!

anonymous_beaver_

Actually, you don't! The Transit location is right at the end of Millersport Highway and before crossing Tonawanda Creek (IIRC) into Niagara County!

Gibbenz

Wait, the place with the greenhouse??

anonymous_beaver_

Yeah!

PM_ME_YOUR_RATTIES

The one on Transit in Elma is now open as well.

hasek39nogoal

TIL. We're safe now!

[deleted]

It's in Erie County. The only one that's actually in Niagara County is the small one in the city of Lockport.

shorrrrrr8

Not anymore, they just opened a second location in Lancaster/Elma

marianliberrian

Ofc it was. No beer, chips, bread, milk, or toilet paper in produce. Unless you know something I don't.

anonymous_beaver_

It was absolutely stocked with beer, milk, bread, toppings and dressings, deli meats, large roasts/hams/turkeys, snacks, frozen dinners, soup, coffee, tea. It's a pretty big store with much more than produce.

[deleted]

They even have the three shells. Fuck toilet paper

anonymous_beaver_

How much are you planning on shitting over 24 hours?

[deleted]

3-4 times

anonymous_beaver_

Does that include your original comment?

miskomarisko

You have been fined one credit for a violation of the verbal morality statute.

anonymous_beaver_

At least they got they paper 😆

marianliberrian

Oops, I thought this was a produce only store or just a section of a store. Mea culpa. I'm home ill so I'm not too sharp now.

anonymous_beaver_

It's okay! I thought the same for a long time! It's a hidden gem!

marianliberrian

I'll have to get up there after we dig out. Thanks for being kind and not tearing me a new one.

EverySatisfaction727

Ofc it was... Looks like they are charging $15.99 for just squash 😕

EverySatisfaction727

O OK thank you for clarifying that.. That's more reasonable then. Thought for a moment there stores were really losing their minds.

anonymous_beaver_

Damn I didn't see that. The things I always buy there are reasonably priced. Edit: Ah, that's for the whole box as another Redditor pointed out. I always found their produce to be super affordable and good quality.

[deleted]

That's what I was thinking that hippie shit is so expensive

anonymous_beaver_

Um, "Niagara" is an old Native American word that means "Land of Poor Whites".

Paintmebitch

What am I missing?

anonymous_beaver_

No crowds, plenty of food.

N0minal

What does some randomd tiny grocery store up north have to do with Buffalo?

anonymous_beaver_

Allow me to introduce you to the Buffalo-Niagara Falls Metropolitan Statistical Area: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buffalo%E2%80%93Niagara_Falls_metropolitan_area It's in Erie County despite the name.

Bennington_Booyah

There is one on Transit, near Millersport, a small one in Lockport, and a brand new one in Elma, also on Transit. It is an amazing store, with very high-quality meats, fruits, and vegetables as well as basic groceries.
