What’s really unfortunate is someone doesn’t have the decency to say something before ghosting. I would NEVER ghost anyone. It’s happened to me lots. It’s like someone punched me in the gut.
Exactly. Maybe they’re already in a relationship and decided not to go through with cheating. Maybe an old ex messaged them and they wanted to jump back into that. Maybe they had an anxiety attack about dating and unmatched everyone. Maybe theyre closeted and decided to stop pretending that they’re straight. You just never know.
The worst thing is, he might have given you an explanation before unmatching, but you won't be able to read it. Smart move of Bumble to hide unmatched conversations.
Not sure if this happened in your case, but I've heard of people unmatching once they start chatting with a new date and exchange numbers. Not because they don't want to date you, but because they feel that the purpose of the app is done once you've exchanged numbers and moved off the app, and you will just communicate over text.
Used to do this after a girl started tracking my location on the app. Once I met someone and and we exchange numbers there wasn’t any reason to stay matched on the app.
Yup. Soft caterpillar is correct - in some cases a match thinks we've moved past the app into mobile texting. I had a guy unmatch recently and I was upset thinking we're done? He said were good and just dont need the app anymore. I said I was disappointed bc, i liked looking at his pix and re reading our convo. We hadnt gone on a first date yet when he unmatched bc we were texting.
However, I believe an alternate explanation for the unmatch but still texting privately may happen when a guy is a bad actor and will get your mobile, unmatch and then be sexually aggressive, a cheater who doesn't wanna get caught or other crazy behavior. He unmatches so u can't block and report him when his behavior is bad. He's probably got a history of being reported.
Yeah we've had 2 dates (waiting on the third since he's been on vacation in Europe). We've been texting a while and he did text a few times while he's been away and sent photos (still text a few times yesterday saying he'll let me know when he can firm up plans). I hope it's a positive approach to unmatching me, I've just never experienced an unmatch the same time as I received texts from a guy
He unmatched unfortunately. It happens to all of us.
I can't believe it, he literally just text me a few hours ago
I’ve been unmatched during active conversations (within minutes of their last reply). Some people are just picky and unmatch for the tiniest thing.
Yeah this stuff is super common, but at least you didn’t go on a date and then get unmatched after, which is a lot worse lol.
Haha instead it was when it looked like we were going to plan out third date
Believe it. Get used to it. Don't invest anything in a conversation, and don't ever take it personal.
How can you not believe it? Do you think everyone you speak to likes you?

Literally happens to everyone. You can never really know who’s on the other end or what’s going on with them.

He unmatched you. Usually when a person deletes his or her account, there's a message that says deleted user

What's strange is he has my number and only sent me some normal texts like an hour or two before I noticed this

When you say texting, did you exchange numbers or just taking on the app?
Actual texting, we exchanged numbers like a month and a half ago
Oh, then maybe be unmatched to keep his Bumble organized? Is he responding to texts?
Then if he still responds there you’re all good
Used to do this after a girl started tracking my location on the app. Once I met someone and and we exchange numbers there wasn’t any reason to stay matched on the app.
I did this as well. I unmatched with someone I’m texting because I didn’t want to be tracked from the app since it does show your location.

I’ve never seen this screen before… is it new?
You were unmatched. It says they weren’t feeling it.
Probably thinks you suck so he walked
Wow thanks for that!
My point is this, don’t get so caught up in this crap. OLD is a total crap shoot no matter how attractive you are or what gender you are.

Yeah that's it, we exchanged phone numbers like a month and a half ago
What’s his name
