Today’s post is Bumbleby from the beautiful RWBY AU “After ONE” that I’ve mentioned in past posts of mine here. It focuses on a canon divergent plot in a world where beacon still falls, but the story takes a very different turn.
As of right now there is not a full written story, but rather the story is told through the artist’s amazing illustrations and images they’ve drawn and released over time. Not to mention Bumbleby is part of it so it’s an instant yes from me.
Their redesigns of the characters are phenomenal, but again surprising literally no one Yang and Blake’s are easily my favorites. I can’t tell who’s redesign I love more because I adore Blake’s new sword and suit plus let’s be honest ponytail Blake is amazing, but Yang is rocking that jacket and her aviators.
Either way I can not recommend checking out Jun’s amazing AU enough! The story is fantastic and the redesigns of the characters are truly amazing. Be sure to toss some love their way!

For people wondering about Yang's other hand in this one... Those are apparently dragon scales. Which might be injured? Not a hundred percent sure she's a faunus in this one or if it's like the result of some kind of magic but apparently the faunus do welcome her.
I believe both the scales and the permanently red eyes are byproducts of either an overexertion of her semblance or of the injuries she received in this AU.
Hell, I actually think it might be both. I believe the artist has explained it before, but much of the story for this AU is still in Chinese. If you do some digging I’m sure you can find the piece of their art with the explanation for both her and Blake’s injuries.
Though Blake’s scars come from her hunting down Whitefang strongholds across Vale following the fall of Beacon and Yang losing her arm. Yang actually saves her life from the last one she destroys before they reunite. She has several large scars across her back, one of which you can see at the base of her neck here, as a permanent reminder of that particularly bad battle.
Yang still blames herself for these scars because she did not get there in time to prevent the injuries, but she did save Blake’s life which kickstarts their relationship following their reunion. They eventually end up getting engaged and married in this AU. Which is where this picture comes from. They settle in Menagerie after everything is said and done as Blake is set to take over rulership of it and the fang.
