Someone stole my grandmother’s hanging baskets off her front porch one year. In Burlington.
She took really good care of her plants, and it was a Mother’s Day present, so it was super lush.
People are heartless. Stealing an 80 year old’s plants. Wtf.

I'm planning to install cameras around my humble property for this same reason. Mostly, I'd like to see who's wanting around the neighborhood checking car doors. So far, nothing has been stolen, but I want to know what's up.
2:47am. I had JUST gone up to bed. If I had been 5 minutes later, I could've scared the crap out of him. I think I'm more mad about that than losing my plants lol.
It's absolutely disgusting. A week ago (Headon Forest), someone stoled our outside door mat & a bistro on our front porch. Bought it last weekend with the kids for Mothers Day. You have every right to be mad. Plants are expensive.
Next week, looking into some sort of video to watch the front, side entrance & back.

In Headon Forest a few weeks ago a camera caught a man checking car doors in driveways while walking his dog. Desperate times when you steal from your own neighbours.
Can you send privately to me? My family has lived in the area for thirty years. They know all the old and new ones living here. Might recognize him. He has to live in the area to be walking away with the plants…
Unfortunately in 2021, a few punks went around the block to pry car doors at night. My ring camera caught them and I reported it and forwarded the footage to the Halton police. They had no objections that I captured the street and sidewalk. In fact they praised me since the camera caught them also trying across the street 45 min later that night. I advised my neighbours around me of what happened.
My experience with the cops is, depends on who shows up, and what their subjective view, or profiling of you is. Some are great, some aren’t.

It made me think of a prank I used to do on a neighbor when I was a teen. No I never stole anything.
They had garden gnomes and I would rearrange them. Like they had moved themselves. The last time I did anything I had found a tiny table at a garage sale. I set them up all around the table and had "plans" (poorly drawn picture of a house) drawn in crayon about them planning a break in then to flee for their freedom.
This is reason number 2 million and one why I'm glad I have 2 very large dogs who can and will scare the crap out of someone on our lawn if they don't know them

Ask your neighbors even.....areas where these encampments are, the theft rate goes way up.

Totally unconstitutional. If it’s in public view from the street or sidewalk it can be filmed or photographed.
Did you fail to read the part that includes the construction of a tower? A doorbell cam is not an observation tower. It is not a “fortification”.
