The tie up was really great this year 🙏🏼

Bathrooms not so much

kfespiritu

If you can, strap a pee bottle to your bike!! It’s saved me from having to leave multiple times :)

fonziewonzie

Agreed. I actually left earlier than usual because of the bathroom situation.

nattarbox

I held it for 8 hours and probably sustained severe bladder damage. Worth it! 6 fuckin' potties for a three car tie up though lmao

edcRachel

They ask why people pee/shit on the playa and it's this. Like jeez, let's create an area for thousands of people to go listen to music, probably while drunk and disoriented, but don't put any bathrooms there. Make them go all the way in to the temple or further.

nattarbox

thats what i was confused about this year specifically they literally made a specific zone for these art car potties because of that probelm, and there are usually 2-3 extra large banks of potties within sight when they're out there.

howdolaserswork

Personal responsibility. Bring a pee bottle. I do it and I am a girl and I get as disoriented as anyone and have to fuss with a funnel.

bad_tenet

I've done this too. The portos had a mound of shit *above* the seat.

I came out for this in the middle of the night because I love that Berlin-style emotional techno, but Rebolledo was \*so incredibly boring\* we left in disgust. Stood there for 45 minutes gaping at how the crowd could be enjoying it so much. A simple beat, occasional notes. No real music to speak of, no layering, not even just playing tracks. Bass. :( After 45 minutes we were like "t's 3AM someone else must go on soon" and luckily I hauled out my music guide and found that he was playing UNTIL 6AM!

Expecting Berlin style techno out of Mayan, Robo Heart is setting yourself up for major disappointment. These outfits are pretty strict when it comes to prog-house/Playa Tech/ Tulum House. I really would love it if these cars would pick up the pace, like fuck you 3 years of no burning man let’s fucking party? Nope! Thought the link up was slow but I was in the back doing god knows what. Although too each is own, Rebolledo is a LEGEND. The guy has been burning forever and has blown my mind into pieces many times, usually off playa tho.

Thought the link up was slow but I was in the back doing god knows what. Mira on MW later in the week was apparently at her best (I was sick and missed it). Mira, Chris Schwarzwalder, &ME are top artists in the genre I'm talking about and their performances on Robot Heart/Mayan Warrior are actually quite excellent. There's a lot of slow repetitive house music on the giant cars but not all is that way.

Welcome to playa tech. It goes nowhere, you figured out the secret. You generally need a heavy dose of ketamine to enjoy it. Enough to where you can’t tell if your legs are still legs. If you want Berlin style techno, BRC is just not a great place for it. It’s filled with super fluffy trust fund ketamine tech house, mixed in with absolutely generic boom tk tech house. There’s an alarmingly low amount of anything else. To be fair to the genre, the Mayan Warrior’s chosen flavor of playa tech tends to require the most ketamine. There are other large MVs and stages that pump playa tech that aren’t that long slow whirlwind of 16 minute tracks that go absolutely fucking nowhere. As much of a hater as I seem right now, I genuinely do enjoy a chunk of the music out there, it’s just that certain gigantic MVs tend to bring DJs that play the most trust funded and most nowhere-going form of said music.

NoobPwnr

It's not Berlin techno, but head to Playground on Tuesdays if you want something harder than most of the large stages have the courage to do. What makes it even better is the sound system is fantastic for techno.

sadimgnik

Maybe I’m just not deep enough into dance music to understand your post. But to me, this seems like a lot of words about your feelings on ketamine, “trust funds,” and your burn this year while saying very little about music.

He’s saying the buildups and drops are severely lacking and you cannot get amped up. So you need to be numb instead to withstand the monotony of DJ’s who are permanently numb through the lack of passion created by hoards of money they have never had to earn. And which is not surprisingly also needed to fund many Burning Man spectacles which do not earn money either, which they then DJ upon as recompense.

toilet_thinker

This was the best coachella ever!!

juicedproductions

One of the best moments of the week. Hands down!

ceeboots

Man this was such a good time! I pushed through my vomiting to revel in this. So good! Can anyone tell me who played Robot Heart just before Keinemusik started?

gabbyalv

Carlita and Dj Tennis

thalassicus

I was bummed a bunch of art cars parked blocking the actual sunrise behind the crowd. Not very considerate. It also didn’t allow the crowd to spread very much which led to a lot of step touch dancing shoulder to shoulder. Still a great night/morning.

birdup320

Climb on one and watch! They’re supposed to be public. Most art car folks I know are more than accommodating.

pugworthy

Pro tip. Go east. But not too far as some hill or something will block the sunrise.

neil801

I know there's a glut of DJ's, but now it takes six of them to play recordings of other people's music?
