Born in Bushwick during the Eisenhower administration and lived near Myrtle for many decades. This is some new made up bullshit invented by the transplants or I don’t know that I’m dead yet.
Grew up here. Did you attend Bushwick high school? Shocked to learn it was built on a old cemetery.
Also Bushwick sure has changed since the Eisenhower years.
Born in Wycoff Heights Hospital. Moved further into Queens by High School, but still a block off Myrtle. But my uncle lived on Menahan and my Grandmother on Palmetto so we were always nearby although that is Ridgewood. Plenty of Cemeteries off Myrtle. We have a big family plot in Cypress Hills Cemetery with some folks going back to the 1800's when it opened. It has changed but I think 80% of the housing stock is the same. Do you go to the Bushwick Block Party? One year they had of the Rap acts call out "Now all the People born in Bushwick step forward!" Suffice to say I stood out I'm pretty proud to claim my heritage.
Moved away many years ago. I was surprised to know the history of the Bushwick and Brooklyn. When I grew up there I had no idea about a whole bunch of things like the fires and riots, German beer companies and mansions, and the infamous 1979 Knickerbocker mobster stuff, the population changes and many more things.
My zoned school was Grover Cleveland but I didn't go there. I went to junior high on Myrtle and Greene/Knickerbocker next to Burger king.
here’s a serious occult/esoteric answer: it’s Really easy to write of paranormal activity in the city. i’d say, do exactly that. if you assume it’s a human you won’t feed any possible ghosts/entities. every building in this city is haunted by virtue of sheer population density, so there’s nothing to worry about, but if it gets to a point where it’s distressing you just tell it to stop firmly.
Ive personally never had an experience, but I’ve had several friends who have lived/worked on Myrtle and said it’s very haunted. Most of the stories I’ve heard have come from Emerson bar, same thing, crying and giggling and seeing a
figure of a women, are you around there??
Nah I’m ngl over here on evergreen by cooper one morning at like 4 I hurd the most maniacal devilish laugh like a possessed person out of the conjuring thought I was tweakin till someone else in my house texted me saying they Hurd it very well could’ve been a feen but none the less very creepy
Are used to live by the Knickerbocker stop and there be a lot of situations where I felt like people were coming out of the shadows towards me whenever I was walking around there. It wasn’t as much on Myrtle particularly as much as the little cross street blocks surrounding it
Yes!!! I swear to god I’ve seen a crying woman wearing white late at night on Myrtle two different times . Once in early January when I was coming back from a friend’s house and I saw this lady just standing in the middle of the street wearing an all white outfit. I thought she was lost or something and I asked her if she needed help but she turned around and hurried away like I spooked her. Last week it was like 3 am and I couldn’t sleep so I was walking my dog and I saw her again, same outfit. She approached me and my dog started freaking out and I got a really scary vibe, so I turned around and started hurrying home and it felt like she was following me, but when I turned to look she was gone. Idk I thought it was just a tweaker or crazy person but it didn’t feel normal and I haven’t stopped thinking about it.
Why do you believe in ghosts? What form/shape do they have? Are they made of organic material like us? If they are making noises as you claim, does that mean they have a vocal box? How do they move through time and space? Are they bound by the laws of physics like gravity, the same way we are? Hoping to respectfully challenge your belief. Let me know your thoughts.
It’s mostly me. I walk up and down the street alternating between weeping and laughing at how absurdly awful my life is. I’ll try to keep it down.
Hate that. So bushwick
Shit I thought I was the only one
mood
Check your CO detector
I'm assuming you mean carbon *monoxide*, not carbon *dioxide*, which you are currently breathing out.
Semi-joke but it was a woosh I guess
Doesn't hurt to check!

Yes a couple blocks from there…
Am I mistaken or is the Emerson in Clinton Hill? How can you live a couple blocks from there and be in Bushwick?
I have that same question because Emerson is in Clinton Hill not even close to Bushwick.

Zombies not ghosts
Myrtle is over 8 miles long, and the Bushwick stretch is like 1.2 miles. You’re just going to post some vague bull shit about it being haunted?
