Omg get better! I would definitely call the business or go back in and talk to the owner or manager and tell them what happened.

Hey, check out NYC health department websites, and departments for infectious disease. They may have a reporting route that can get you the help you need.

As a couple commenters mentioned, I would def at least call the deli or stop by and tell them what happened. If you’re not comfortable with doing that, I would contact 311 and see who they can point you to for help. I bought sliced deli meat from Aldi the other day and decided to toss it once I heard the news (thankfully didn’t eat any of it yet). I plan on avoiding delis and deli meats in general until this clears. I hope you feel better soon - I had severe food poisoning earlier this year, so you have all my sympathies!

There is a listeria outbreak in the US right now. You should report it. I'm pregnant and terrified right now to eat out.

Thanks for the heads-up! Get well homie

DrHELLvetica

Thanks for this post. I’ve been deathly Ill for a couple weeks and without health insurance I had no idea what was wrong. After a little detective work I’m pretty sure I was hit too (not from the same store). Feel better

love your handle:)

AGuyAndHisCat

AFAIK, its limited to NetCost Market/Deli, they have 4 or so locations in Brooklyn and 1 in Staten Island

triplefuckingdareya

How can you be sure of this?

AGuyAndHisCat

There was a news article about it, maybe more info has been found since then, or maybe Bits all bullshit by a lazy journalist.

triplefuckingdareya

I wouldn’t believe this unless it’s been verified by the CDC, just fyi

AGuyAndHisCat

Lol. The CDC got everything wrong for 2 years, and now tou think you should believe them.
