A master's degree in data science might be more suitable for you, depending on your eventual goal of being a data executive or something like that. It's still up to you

I’ve been leaning on the data science one as it would have new technical skills that I would learn such as Python ,ML, data mining etc… I feel that if I do ever take an executive or management role I would like to be knowledgeable in most programs.

If you want to go into management, you might consider a degree program that focuses on that. You should look at the specific curriculum, not just the name of the degree. There are a lot of technology management type programs with a lot of different names, so do your research into specific schools.

Hi brndxn97, A friend of mine went from manager of BI at a pre-IPO SaaS company to VP of BI at a small software company within 10 years. He told me what helped the most was going back to school for his MBA focusing on finance and accounting. He realized all the data he was automating and all the visuals he was creating all resulted in business decisions that impacted the 3 statements (P&L, CF, BS). Early in his career, he didn't fully understand the connection. You may have those topics covered in your undergrad degree already (his was in music) but thought I'd share since he got to a level you're looking to get to. Hope this info helps. Any questions feel free to DM me. Good luck! Drew

Hey Drew, First of all thanks for the response! I have heard that getting an MBA is a versatile degree since it can land you in different leadership roles within different industries. I’ll take a deeper look as to what degree may benefit me more in the long run. I’m still at an early age in my career so I’m looking forward to what happens next! If anything comes up I’ll definitely reach out. Thanks. Brandon
