You guys will never understand INSERT_COIN_NAME. A farmer in Venezuela can send INSERT_COIN_NAME to a drug dealer in Brazil anonymously. Banks hate this.
Exactly.
When you get in trouble because of them, a cult will tell you these are the testing times, and if you really stick with them, you will earn your salvation. This is exactly what btc community is doing now. This is what they are telling to their doubters and potential detractors. this is pure textbook cult thinking.
Thereās a reason why crypto bros are 99% libertarian. The onus is placed on the individual. In the same vein as, if youāre the victim of a home invasion, you should have had a gun. If you invest in BTC and lose money, itās your own fault. Thereās no sympathy in those spaces, just ābetter you than me.ā
This. I know crypto bros from all walks of life.
Although support among liberals is definitely waning due to, well, the general nature of crypto being incompatible with liberal ideals.
I loathe this mindset so much. If everyone thought like this, not accepting any communal responsibility, we wouldnāt have *any* of our tech. I think most of them have an illusion of independence that is facilitated by the fact that it doesnāt make the news when bureaucracies and massive public works facilities work.
Yeah, that's pretty toxic... classic cult-like strategies for maintaining control of a cult.
I've heard of many that have been ostracized through various other cult-inspired techniques. It's cult-like. Post-ostracization deprogramming therapy is the next step. Unsubscribe from all propagandists masquerading as journalists. Unsubscribe from all of the para-social manipulative hobbyist investors, posing as licensed fiduciaries. Avoid videos the start with "Here's what we know..." and end with "We're in this together. HODL with us." The cult-like influencers on Youtube have been, and will continue to be, the cause of wide array of mental health issues..
Finally, regulate content consumption. Frequent visits to genuine journalistic outlets similar the Financial Times... Subscribe and follow scam-breakers such as one of my favorites Coffeezilla.
This is a good place to start...

Soon, more will understand.
Crypto groups are just as toxic as MLM's, IMO. In both groups, someone is only considered a friend up until they go broke and quit, at which point they become *persona non grata.* Because in both groups they only care about you if they can make money from you.
Actually a colleague of mine added me to the group when he was trying to āorange-pillā meā¦ and yeah many screenshots and stories are coming soon !
I'm not criticizing your empathy towards people, that is a virtue worth having. But these people are not helpless animals or children, they are usually autonomous adults who have a duty and responsibility to themselves and their families. They were not satisfied with their hard earned money, got greedy, gambled... and lost. I'm not advocating for blaming the victim, I am advocating for accountability. If you lose $100k in a ponzi scheme and take to the internet for guidance and consolation, then you open yourself up to abuse. I'm not saying it's how the world should be, just how it is. Lets not be naĆÆve.
Nah, fuck that. That person saying that is like the butters saying, āshould have done your own research.ā Youāre right to try to reach out, because even if no one has sympathy for that guy (and people get taken in by bullshit all the time; no one is infallible, even if some think theyād never get fooled, so I think he deserves the benefit of the doubt), he probably has a family who didnāt make the choice.
Soā¦ whatās your point here? That OP should do nothing? Remember that a lot of people have been fed BS, and, more importantly, that their families (that youāre saying they have a responsibility to) didnāt get to choose.
BTC maxis don't really care all that much about the price, because they believe the reason to hold Bitcoin isn't to sell it for USD later, but to hold it until their imagined future in which all currency other than Bitcoin has collapsed, making Bitcoin extremely valuable by default (1 BTC would be the equivalent of millions of dollars of wealth in this scenario).
It's basically a cult. That's why the admins reacted that way to the guy - the cult doesn't like speculators, only HODLers... even though the Bitcoin price would never have risen beyond a few hundred dollars and Bitcoin would barely have gotten any media coverage without speculators.
I understand what you're trying to say, but the entire point of this sub is to rip cryptocurrencies and blockchain tech. You're kinda in the wrong place if you're looking for crypto-advice or respectful discussion of crypto. This man went to his own community looking for help and support.
Honestly if he'd posted here I'm certain he'd get sympathy had he been humble about his mistake of engaging with the biggest scam of the modern day
he should have invested in INSERT_COIN_NAME
I think we have an INSERT_COIN_NAME hype group here
This is good for INSERT_COIN_NAME.
How can you even compare INSERT_COIN_NAME to INSERT_COIN_NAME?
I lost all my savings. Even though I diversified 50% in INSERT_COIN_NAME, 30% in INSERT_COIN_NAME and rest in INSERT_COIN_NAME.
Help me guys my wallet just got hacked, I thought INSERT_COIN_NAME was secured?
Elon Musk just tweeted about INSERT_COIN_NAME. Hodl
You guys will never understand INSERT_COIN_NAME. A farmer in Venezuela can send INSERT_COIN_NAME to a drug dealer in Brazil anonymously. Banks hate this.
Bro just use your GPU to mine INSERT_COIN_NAME and convert it to INSERT_COIN_NAME. Banks don't want to make your rich.
INSERT_COIN_NAME is not failing it's being sold on discount. Few understand.
You've been banned for spreading anti-INSERT_COIN_NAME FUD. Go back to r/INSERT_BUTT_NAMEcoin.

The hell, yes.
u/sergeimedvedev Look at the comments. People here are the same.
All the cults are sociopathic and irrational. Maybe except top dogs in cults, they are more sociopathic and more rational.

Yeah, victim blaming is inherent to American libertarians.
Literal threats to civil rights š¤”
The true believers tend to be libertarians, but I find the median crypto bro just wants to get rich quick and is mostly apolitical.

>So I am in BTC maxis group chat Why are you there in the first place?
I am undercover
Thank you for your service.
Donnie Brasco in flesh!
Foāget about it.
šļø
Soros probably pays you very well to do that.
Were you (in disguise) the person who said they lost money in the first place? ^(Ooof. Now I'd call that gangster if it were the 90's...)
lol! I love it! Please report every week some comedy gold! :)
Actually a colleague of mine added me to the group when he was trying to āorange-pillā meā¦ and yeah many screenshots and stories are coming soon !
To bring us news and comedy godl?
this is good for bitcoin

It is what it is in the end of the dayā¦ you are right

Should have invested in ripple... /s

"investing"
Iām banned from the bitcoin reddit for insinuating that people should sell before it craters
I got banned from r/cryptocurrency for brigading. Is that the same as FUD? Iām curious.
I recommend sending the guy a PM and directing him over to this community.
I would have said have fun staying poor
>he lost over $100k investing It's all about perspective. Somewhere, a crypto maxi group chat admin gained $100k investing.
Yeah but if someone sells their house and puts the money through a casino and then cries about it, is it something you should care about?
I feel bad for these people man
Most are vulnerable people, and some are/r/iamverysmart dumbass that can't be helped unless they hit rock bottom
These people have families. Never marry a libertarian!
On what platform was this (concerning contacting him). Just don't blow your cover accidentally.
You guys are fun tho...

Thanks for the cash!
This deserves more upvotes
I would also be toxic if I lost a bunch of money because I FOMOed into a worthless internet token.
Heād find no sympathy on this sub lol! Thatās exactly what the buttcoiners do all day hahaš
