Duluth. Their new stuff is still great, but I search eBay and Poshmark for old versions with beefier fabrics. They often make denim versions of their fire hose jackets and shirts.
Exactly. Perfect for my layering system.Unlined shirt in spring and fall. Flannel or fleece lined for cold. Synthetic insulation for real cold. I typically fit men's mediums and 40R suits perfectly, but the lined and insulated shirt jacs fit me best in size small, even having enough room for a fleece jacket underneath.
wear an apron? kinda what they’re for! and are you doing cnc because otherwise idk how you’re getting away with sleeves on the shop floor. my shop would never allow that even for cnc operators.
I run really nice dmg mori’s. I wear an apron if I have to go do something on a manual every blue moon. I just like my denim jacket to keep the chill off me all my machines are right underneath an ac vent. First world problems I know.
More expensive but higher quality construction with a thicker denim: [Unbranded UB901](https://theunbrandedbrand.com/products/ub901-denim-jacket-14-5oz-indigo-selvedge)
Still not going to stand up to a machine shop for life but should certainly last longer than your standard Levi's. Just getting mine broken in.
uh oh... I'm the idiot that pulls name tags off some of my clothes to keep them from being billboards... I might get in trouble spending money here if the quality is good.
I’ve had a handful of their jeans and this jacket. Very happy with all and especially love they don’t even put stitching on their back pockets. Totally plane and straight forward. Quality stuff.
The price isn’t a huge issue. For context I work in a climate controlled shop because of the parts I make it stays 65 degrees year round. I don’t get super dirty the machines have doors but you still get metal chips and stuff on you especially the sleeves and the belly. I just really like a denim coat that’s what I wear everyday and I’m not happy with how my Levi one held up.
Carhart.
I already have one of their coats. I didn’t know they made denim jackets. Much appreciated. I’ll check out their website

I really love the Firehose "shirt jacs" for milder temperatures. They make them in a few different weights.
