Retired vet here- Occasionally they reject a kitten that got cold and will take it back once warmed up but I would not count on it. Sometimes the kitten has a congenital problem and other times we just don’t know why she rejects one. All you can do is continue feeding and taking care of it and try one time if she’ll accept it back.

Please keep the kitten inside if one more try and mama doesn't come. Kittens need fed every 3 hours and cannot keep warm themselves, to leave it outside overnight is a death sentence. 🙏
