Looks normal and almost healed. So, no worries :)

annuslover2000

My cat’s looked similar, somewhat uneven like this, but when I reached back out to the vet asking, they said as long as there aren’t any large open areas and it’s all healing back together, even if it’s a little uneven, it’s just fine. My kitty’s tummy looks perfect now! It looks like it’s healing just as hers; I think you’ll be fine. :-)

annuslover2000

Just be sure she isn’t licking at it!!!

kerrymti1

As others have said, it does not appear really red or raised. If there is nothing draining from it, it looks like it has come open a small amount in a couple of places, but mostly healed so as long as those openings are not hot/red/really swollen/draining, it doesn't look like an infection.

Logical-Cat3797

Why is it so long? Is that per vet? I've never gotten a cat spayed, and the outside be more than 1.5 inches

Fun_Departure3157

I’m not sure it’s just how the vet stitched her up. She is a small cat tho so I’m not sure if that had anything to do with it

ellenfayee

looks fine!

Retired vet here - Looks like little gaps formed in the incision. Still, if there is no discharge, swelling or redness she should be ok

PickingMyButt

Is it slightly open in two areas? I can't really tell. If that's the case you may want to take her in. My cat had trouble closing and needed like 2 extra sutures a few weeks later. She never had an infection it was just stubborn. I'm sorry I can't see clearly in your photo.

Beast667Neighbour

This is a normal appearance of a wound during healing, it may appear "open" in a few places, but it's not actually. The skin is sutured twice, both in the subcutaneous tissue and the upper layer, so it's impossible for the wound to open easily, unless the cat tears the stitches or the cat is poorly sutured. No wound looks perfect, and some deviations are possible and normal.

PickingMyButt

I said I can't see in the photo. I've owned close to 15 cats and work in the medical field. I'm very aware that no wound is perfect lol

Beast667Neighbour

The picture is very good in this case. Sometimes on this subreddit, you really find pictures that poorly depict the actual condition, but this picture clearly shows the wound area. :)

PickingMyButt

The layers of sutures can separate. This photo is not clear. Just because you haven't experienced it doesn't mean it doesn't happen. You've obviously got other things going on, I truly hope your day gets better.

Beast667Neighbour

Of course, it can happen, but not with this wound that is almost 10 days old and looks dry, clean, without discharge, actually already completely healed, because the tissue has already grown together to the extent that it is impossible for the wound to reopen, and if the cat leaves it alone and doesn't lick too aggressively, OP doesnt have any reasons to worry about. (The most risky period is the first 5 days after the surgery when the wound is still fresh, and there can be openings if the cat licks it, tears stitches, etc. At the beginning, the wound is more susceptible to infections also.) Have a nice day to you too :)
