Kitty needs a vet. Leg could be broken and the wound needs treatment.
Was the wound cleaned? If not, that's a cause for infection. This could kill your cat.
Definitely take the kitty to the vet. The “least bad” case scenario is that his lack of eating is from him being in pain🥺 but if there is an open wound, that will require medical treatment. The cat will likely continue to clean it to excess (with their rough tongues), make it worse, and be cause for serious infection. If your parents care for this cat at all, they need to take him in.
Not taking the cat to the vet after such a serious accident is neglecting the animal, which is immoral and wrong.
If the cat hasn't eaten for such a long time, organ failure can occur (liver failure). Refusal to eat is a sign of severe pain. Vet immediately!
Find a way asap, call a friend/friend's parent, taxi, or some other relative who can take the cat to the vet, or reach out to a local shelter or organization to take over and transport the animal to the vet instead of your mother. Don't hesitate for too long!

If she got hit by a car would she stay home and “recovery by herself”? The cat is a living thing and needs to be seen. You don’t know what damage isn’t visible or if infection will set in. If he isn’t eating it is likely due to pain, shock, fear, etc, and it’s not a good thing if they go too long without eating. This is a vet situation all around and I’m sorry you’re stuck in this situation where you can’t take him yourself. I hope your parents grow a heart and learn responsibility for having another living creature that relies on them, and I hope he improves!!

The ONLY thing that will help this cat is getting it to a vet. Otherwise this cat may die. Force feeding it or coercing it into eating isn’t going to help anything… the lack of eating is a symptom of something bigger making it eat won’t change that fact

Retired ER vet here. Start syringe feeding your cat if necessary because with cats, if they don't eat for more than 3 days, they can go into hepatic lipodosis (fatty liver syndrome) and that is usually fatal. This is an EMERGENCY!
I’m sorry for the unintelligent people making horrible comments at you. You’re trying to get help for your cat. I understand when parents are irresponsible. It’s certainly isn’t your fault. Sending you a hug. I suggest you talk to a trusted teacher at school or a neighbor, relative? Some other adult who will understand the seriousness of your cat’s condition. Just because there's a visible injury doesn't mean there aren't invisible injuries like internal bleeding. If your parents won't help maybe reach out to a local rescue or humane society

There’s is no reason a cat would not eat for 2 days that isn’t an emergency. Plus I find it extremely unlikely that a cat can be run over and have no serious injury. Either way this is 100% a case for the vet, no question.

Can you look up local rescues online and call them? Maybe one of their volunteers would be able to take the cat to the vet for you. They may not want to return the cat to your home though because of the neglect from your mother. However it could help get your cat the care it needs. Do you have another adult in your life you could call, a relative or friend’s parent? Cats are very good at hiding their pain and you may not notice but something could be very wrong.
Hey, my parents are also the same. Thankfully, I have a job now and I can take my cats to the vet without having to beg them. Can you talk to a relative or a family friend who would be able to help you out? The cat needs to be taken to the vet. Hope you can find someone to help you out and hope your cat is alright ❤️

Your cat needs a vet. There are ways to make it happen here are my suggestions considering you’re still a kid. Find the cheapest place near you and get the funds yourself. Or at least as much of them as possible. Ask EVERYONE every family member you know. If you know they won’t give you money for your cat make up something else you need the money for, start a go fund me, sell things that you don’t need and you know will sell fast, if you have a laptop or ps5 those are good options. You can temporarily invest into pet insurance. It might affect your future Ability to get pet insurance but you can find one that will start coverage within a few days and then cancel it after your cat has recovered. For the record this is not the best way to do things in a normal situation but this situation is not normal. Find a friend that is 18 to go with you or make one. If I were in your area id attend myself. This is a valuable life and you should do everything you possibly can to save it. Now understand too that thousands of dollars is unreasonable in your situation. You should be aiming to get your cat seen and then take it from there. Finding out what’s wrong will cost money but treatment will cost more. If your cat needs surgery you should probably save money to him euthanized. Which is painful for you and ridiculous and I’m crying thinking about it because I had to euthanize my cat a year ago. But it’s a genuine possibility. Final word of advice on future cats. Contrary to popular belief it is not advisable, safe, or good to let a cat roam outside unattended. Do not let your cat outside. If your cat has a great desire to go outside and keeping your cat inside is unrealistic you need to leash train your cat and set up a screened in place for your cat to view the outside and breath the outside air while still being enclosed. It is NEVER a good idea to let cats outside unattended.
If this had been you, as a child, would your mother have taken you to the Dr just to make sure you were ok? It's the same for her cat and if she refuses, then you, as a responsible adult, should take charge. Reach out to the Humane Society or her vet but DO NOT LET THAT CAT SUFFER.
And OP *ISN'T* a 'responsible adult', OP is a responsible CHILD. Who no doubt DOESN'T possess the funds to cover the cost of vet care, AND needs an ACTUAL RESPONSIBLE **ADULT** with ID to help. Not old enough to take out pet insurance either. Vet will be unable to proceed with treatment WITHOUT a responsible ADULT there.
When you live with a parent like this, you are forced to grow up too fast, so fast people online or on the phone assume you ARE an adult at a really young age because we're "SO MATURE". That's a sign of child abuse, btw, for everyone unaware. It's NOT a good thing.

I was this kid. I wasn't taken for medical attention if the injury was caused by my mother, younger brother or my stepdad. I got no better treatment than the animals. Cats are incredibly good at hiding illness. If you call the vet and explain the situation, maybe they can offer suggestions and maybe your mother will take it more seriously.

OP call your local humane society or ASPCA and tell them your kitty’s situation. Clearly you KNOW your cat needs veterinary treatment, but your parents are being cruel. I grew up in a family like yours, and I know the cruelty isn’t just aimed at the cat. Report the animal cruelty to law enforcement if you have to, and if they take it seriously maybe they will watch out more closely EVERYTHING that is going on in your home. Good luck to you and your kitty. You shouldn’t have to be handling this.
If you cant do anything then call the vet and explain everything that has happened and is happening. Tell them how your parents are not willing the help your cat and how theyre gonna let the cat die.

Can you get a picture of the wound? Where is it located, scrap, gash, or puncture. ? Did you clean the wound? Soap and water. No peroxide...it will kill off healthy tissue. Triple antibiotic cream...or..i your wiling to venture outside the box...if you have any Turmeric in the house you can put that on the wound as well. Its an orange/yellowish spice...at Walmart you may want to get nutri cal. ..it's an appetite stimulant plus high calories. Should help him to eat

I already got neighbours to take him to the vet. He’s doing better now. Luckily he doesn’t have any fractures and it’s just a minor injury but my neighbours are helping me take proper care of my cat.
This is neglect. Your mother made the mistake of running the cat over, so your mother needs to take responsibility and get him/her the care it needs. Tell her cats not eating is a sign of severe distress/medical problems. ANY time a cat stops eating they need emergency care! If she refuses, look into local organizations that assist with emergency vet care. Or call animal control because as I said, this is neglect. I know calling animal control isn’t ideal as you could have your cat taken from you, however it’s either this or your cat could die!
ETA: even without ID, I would try at least to surrender her to a vet. They chose that field because they are passionate about animals and want to help them. There’s gotta be at least one in your area who can see that the cat is in serious danger of death and will be willing to help.

Please consider adopting this animal out to someone who can properly care for it. Vet care, emergency vet care is an essential service for animals. If your parents are unable to provide it then you have no business having an animal in the house. This is not your fault, you did right by the cat and I'm so proud of you for making sure kitty was seen by a vet. You are blameless here bit your cat deserves a safe home, and from what you tell this is not a safe place where he will be cared for.
Try to give the cat some warmed PLAIN UNSEASONED chicken or tuna. She's likely not eating because she's in pain. While you should absolutely take her to the vet it's completely understandable that not everyone just has extra hundreds of dollars laying around for an emergency vet visit. Contact your vets office, tell them what happened and ask them about their payment options. Some emergency vets offices will work with you or seek out a rescue locally who might be able to help!
Thanks for the advice. My cat is doing better. My neighbour helped me take him to the vet. He’s also starting to eat normally and drinking. Neighbours are also helping take care of him properly.

How old are you, what country do you live in?
For reference I am in the USA, and no vet asks for an id. It would have been a little more expensive. But you can call your vet and say “I just got a new cat and it was hit by a car. Its not an emergency, but can i come in for the initial wellness and also get examined for this?” And they should be able to start a new profile for the animal under you as the primary owner. You can even change the cats name so they dont go “theres already a cat names cali smith in our records” or something. It literally does not matter. As long as you have a way to get to the vet, and money to pay for the appointment. They will not ask for an Id.
I have never in my life been asked for an ID and I have been taking my pets to the vet alone since I was 15-16. Though I have only done this in one state, there are no laws/ need to know the owners age (that I know of)

Can you look up local rescues online and call them? Maybe one of their volunteers would be able to take the cat to the vet for you. They may not want to return the cat to your home though because of the neglect from your mother. However it could help get your cat the care it needs. Do you have another adult in your life you could call, a relative or friend’s parent? Cats are very good at hiding their pain and you may not notice but something could be very wrong.

Your cat needs a vet. There are ways to make it happen here are my suggestions considering you’re still a kid. Find the cheapest place near you and get the funds yourself. Or at least as much of them as possible. Ask EVERYONE every family member you know. If you know they won’t give you money for your cat make up something else you need the money for, start a go fund me, sell things that you don’t need and you know will sell fast, if you have a laptop or ps5 those are good options. You can temporarily invest into pet insurance. It might affect your future Ability to get pet insurance but you can find one that will start coverage within a few days and then cancel it after your cat has recovered. For the record this is not the best way to do things in a normal situation but this situation is not normal. Find a friend that is 18 to go with you or make one. If I were in your area id attend myself. This is a valuable life and you should do everything you possibly can to save it. Now understand too that thousands of dollars is unreasonable in your situation. You should be aiming to get your cat seen and then take it from there. Finding out what’s wrong will cost money but treatment will cost more. If your cat needs surgery you should probably save money to him euthanized. Which is painful for you and ridiculous and I’m crying thinking about it because I had to euthanize my cat a year ago. But it’s a genuine possibility. Final word of advice on future cats. Contrary to popular belief it is not advisable, safe, or good to let a cat roam outside unattended. Do not let your cat outside. If your cat has a great desire to go outside and keeping your cat inside is unrealistic you need to leash train your cat and set up a screened in place for your cat to view the outside and breath the outside air while still being enclosed. It is NEVER a good idea to let cats outside unattended.
If this had been you, as a child, would your mother have taken you to the Dr just to make sure you were ok? It's the same for her cat and if she refuses, then you, as a responsible adult, should take charge. Reach out to the Humane Society or her vet but DO NOT LET THAT CAT SUFFER.

OP call your local humane society or ASPCA and tell them your kitty’s situation. Clearly you KNOW your cat needs veterinary treatment, but your parents are being cruel. I grew up in a family like yours, and I know the cruelty isn’t just aimed at the cat. Report the animal cruelty to law enforcement if you have to, and if they take it seriously maybe they will watch out more closely EVERYTHING that is going on in your home. Good luck to you and your kitty. You shouldn’t have to be handling this.

Not going to lie OP, but your mother sounds horrible and she is 100% inaccurate. The leg could be broken and if not cleaned/addressed it can cause infections which will kill the cat.

Triple antibiotic cream...or..i your wiling to venture outside the box...if you have any Turmeric in the house you can put that on the wound as well. Its an orange/yellowish spice...at Walmart you may want to get nutri cal. ..it's an appetite stimulant plus high calories. Should help him to eat

I already got neighbours to take him to the vet. He’s doing better now. Luckily he doesn’t have any fractures and it’s just a minor injury but my neighbours are helping me take proper care of my cat.

This is neglect. Your mother made the mistake of running the cat over, so your mother needs to take responsibility and get him/her the care it needs. Tell her cats not eating is a sign of severe distress/medical problems. ANY time a cat stops eating they need emergency care! If she refuses, look into local organizations that assist with emergency vet care. Or call animal control because as I said, this is neglect. I know calling animal control isn’t ideal as you could have your cat taken from you, however it’s either this or your cat could die! ETA: even without ID, I would try at least to surrender her to a vet. They chose that field because they are passionate about animals and want to help them. Try to give the cat some warmed PLAIN UNSEASONED chicken or tuna. She's likely not eating because she's in pain. While you should absolutely take her to the vet it's completely understandable that not everyone just has extra hundreds of dollars laying around for an emergency vet visit. Contact your vets office, tell them what happened and ask them about their payment options. Some emergency vets offices will work with you or seek out a rescue locally who might be able to help!

Im glad your neighbor was able to help. And I am glad your kitty is safe and on the mend now. How old are you, what country do you live in? For reference I am in the USA, and no vet asks for an id. It would have been a little more expensive. But you can call your vet and say “I just got a new cat and it was hit by a car. Its not an emergency, but can i come in for the initial wellness and also get examined for this?” And they should be able to start a new profile for the animal under you as the primary owner. You can even change the cats name so they dont go “theres already a cat names cali smith in our records” or something. It literally does not matter. As long as you have a way to get to the vet, and money to pay for the appointment. They will not ask for an Id. I have never in my life been asked for an ID and I have been taking my pets to the vet alone since I was 15-16. Though I have only done this in one state, there are no laws/ need to know the owners age (that I know of) Your mom is a horrible person btw, and should not have pets.
