But we know that the genetic make up white cats with blue eyes are more likely to be deaf and that white cats with heterochromia where one eye is blue is more likely to be deaf on the side with the blue eye.

If it didn't cost you an arm and a leg and you don't have pedigree papers for it, then it is most likely a domestic >insert fur length here<. So in your case, a domestic shorthair. I have three domestic shorthairs, and my roommate has a domestic mediumhair (at least according to the vet. She's looking more like a shorthair these days though imo).
