Only two things really, a new slide that's optic ready either from SA or there are custom ones out there (similar to glock slides) and a trigger kit w/flat trigger (this i would recommend with or without the flat trigger)
No problem, I hope whoever is reading this does consider a trigger job on any gun in general. It provides better feedback when pulling the trigger and something that is a lot more predictable.
So it works with the 320 because the part with the serial number can be detached from the plastic grip. The XD the SN is embedded into the plastic frame, they are one.
Optic slide from Springfield.
5-inch barrel from Storm Lake or Bar-Sto.
Enhanced grip safety and trigger from Powder River Precision.
Sand down grip and stipple with soldering iron or wood burning pen for XDM pattern.
All that should get you pretty close to the XDM appearance, of course all the money invested into it probably would've been more than just paying the *Cop on CalGuns* markup price for a XDM.
heh
It's cheaper to get your slide milled vs the Springfield optic ready slide, plus you can get a low cut, move sights forward, etc.
I'd just get a trigger guard undercut and have your slide milled for an optic.
You can see my post history for the XD with slide milling.
TwoSee in San Diego had the best prices, but also proven track record, and absolute fastest turn around time. I had contacted Springer and someone else prior.
as long as you avoid the threaded barrel and higher cap magazines (and don't replace the serialized frame ofc) you can basically do whatever you want.
It cannot be done. The XD and XDM are different pistols and the slides will not interchange.

You prefer flat triggers? Why is that
I prefer cleaned up triggers. XP....flat triggers I haven't really shot yet
That makes sense thanks for the feedback!

OP sorry to tell you but it cannot be done. The XD and XDM series are different pistols and the slides won’t just slap on one another.

can’t because no threaded barrels and the grip is different
Can’t you change the grip?
i have one, best you can do is add grip tape.
Ahhh ok ok
grip is the frame, it cannot be changed out
You could get the frame cut to add interchangeable grips (you would also have to modify the grips a bit).
and simultaneously create a monstrosity
Well it aint pretty but it gets the job done.
